The September 14th update added Laserpods - an amazing new game mechanic. The little Laserpods follow your ship around and lend added firepower, but automatically target ships that are close enough. They drop randomly from asteroids in Survival Mode, and you get one for every 50 gems dropped off in Team Mode. (your current tier limits how many you can have at one time). This one game mechanic has almost completely solved two long standing drawbacks to Starblast - Team Mode freeloaders, and Survival Mode teams. It is amazing, while not featured in this video, players have never been so eager to donate to the base! Also, Laserpods have MASSIVELY reduced teaming in Survival Mode, by forcing players to stay away form each other, or have their Laserpods shooting at each other.
I give this update a 9/10! (I can't give out a 10/10, because that would assume that there could never be a better update - and knowing the Starblast devs, they will never cease to surprise us with amazing updates :)
