I’ve purchased 9 or 10 of Bryan’s scales at this point, either for myself or as gifts. The micarta ones are just as nice as the G10. Really high quality stuff. I use my bench vise with a rag on either side to press them into place.
@@johnpawson7400 so far the Sportsman has been my favourite edc, although I’ve got quite a few more I’m currently working through! Those G10 scales are so nice to the feel and also very tough, pleased the info was useful John
@@recycled3654 honestly, they feel so good and solid on the knife.. I’ll be modifying more and indeed I’ve been asked by someone I know to modify his Huntsman with Micarta scales which I’m also going to try on one of my knives! In fact I may work my way through various types of scales so we can eventually be able to compare.
That's definitely an upgrade, seen them on Etsy and wondered if they would fit properly. What a lovely colour green., look great and harder waring. Thanks for explaining what G10 and micarta is. I think my old climbers getting new clothes. Cheers mate.
@@markcavanagh73 I’m currently using the climber as my edc and brilliant bit of kit..but that G10 Sportsman is currently my favourite and so nice with the new scales! Have fun and let me know how you get on 👍🏻
@@markcavanagh73 funny thing with carrying the knife is my wife just thought it was another little boys hobby but guess whose used it the most..yep, several times she asked to use it and has a slightly different view on me carrying one now 😂
