I wanted to see this innovative way of farming in Zambia!

  • Day 732: I met Milo in Lusaka in Zambia. He told me about his innovative farm and I spend an afternoon having my mind blown. I see a lot of subsistence farming in this part of Africa - small scale, single family farming. So it was really cool to see this highly advanced farming, with some very high ambitions in terms of sustainability and environmental impact.

This is really impressive, innovative and sustainable farming at its best. However, I would like to understand the cost of the equipment or the companies that sell these and do some research. We need more of this to supply the region and continent considering the limited food resources. And an increased supply can reduce cost to consumers. I am curious to see how other vegetable groups do, for me it's about producing organic products

That is utterly fascinating! I so very much hope their idea will catch on, I so very much hope that innovation out of Africa will help all the world to work better! 🤗
That being said, I have been using the African operating system for 16 years now. Ubuntu Linux in a variety of flavours. 💪 (Yes, its maker moved to London years ago, it still was born in South Africa!)

Great farming method. I have just been researching hydroponics. I am now more inspired to get started in my backyard! From my research apparently, this method of farming has been around circa 2005 or earlier. It's becoming quite common in some areas of Asia and widely adopted in the USA especially by backyard gardening enthusiasts.
