Cool Memory Of 66..
Seeing " Whipped Cream" And " Revolver" Sitting Side By Side On The New Release Rack!!!
To me, the 60's was the greatest decade ever!. I just discovered the music of Nancy Sinatra. I recently purchased her recent release "Start Walking" solely for the cover! Had a childhood crush on her. I only knew her for her hit "These boots were made for walking. I was pleasantly surprised how good she was. Never heard of Lee Hazelwood before. What a fantastic record! Highly recommended!
I have that Nancy Sinatra, Lee Hazlewood album...it great 👍 👌

Nice hearing from you and thank you for posting your list ✌️.
I was16 in 1966. I agree it is a high point. The 60s as a whole were hard to beat. 😎
1966 is my birth year. I agree, it was one of the best years for music!
66 was the year I was born. Yes that was an excellent year for music, especially for R&B and Soul. Awesome video!
1966 is in one of the coolest decades of music.
Your Four Tops album looks like it was well loved.😊
Of course my 1966 favorites include _I Hear A Symphony_ and _The Supremes A' Go-Go._
As always...Thanks for the videos Kenny. I personally love the Sinatra Live @ The Sands. Never tire of that one!
I was born in 1966 and I'm very happy to know that great albums were released this year. I really liked your selection. congratulations. I love listening to and discovering new bands, singers and records. music is life.
Thank you very much for your comments...you were definitely born in a great year for music 😊
I was 4. I remember the old Admiral tube radio we had. I remember hearing Herb Alpert. Spanish Flea and Taste of Honey. Couldn't get them out of my head. I liked jazz when I was little, for some odd reason. Only rock songs that caught my attention to remember hearing them, was, 96 Tears and Walk Don't Run. My record collection at the time was The Bunny Hop, Barbar the Elephant, and Sid Catlett and Ben Webster's Cadillac Slim. Had one of those little RCA alligator case record players. I also, did have that exact '63 Corvette model, but I got it in the 1970's. Most of the gear I collect is from 1965-1967. My 2 RCA reel to reels and V-M 368 have that class A, 60's sound like nothing else.
Great memories from a great time period, thanks for sharing 😊✌️
1966 was a fun year for me. I was 4 years old and it's the first year I can remember in its entirety. I was deep in to the pop culture then because of my older brother and sister's consumption of what was going on. I was a rabid fan of the television shows Batman and The Monkees. I enjoyed all of the classic cartoons in the morning and the latest shows in living color in the evening. The fashion looks, car models and technology of that time look cool to me today. Of course, the music of that year was killer. I remember hearing most of them when they were new because of my home having a Top 40 AM station on all of the time. I remember a disc jockey announcing a new Beatles song called Paperback Writer was about to be played on the station for the first time. I'd love to go back to that year in a Time Machine and experience it through older eyes but that isn't going to happen. All we have are the memories and the artistic output from that great year.
Its definitely true, all we have are those great memories of that time, I love your comments, well said 👏 👍 ✌️
I was 10yrs old in 1966, I remember the music and TV shows. Another great TV show was The Fugitive, I still watch it on METV. The 60’s was a crazy decade for more than music, TV, movies. My older brother was 16 at the time so he had some of the records you mentioned. It’s hard to pin down the Coollest Year of the 60’s but I have read that 1966 was the best year so for now I agree it was great and Cool…✌
I must agree, the 60s was a crazy but creative decade ✌️
If you live in the UK England reminds us to this day (I’m Scottish) that England won the World Cup in 66.
Quite a selection. There's a book called, 1966: The Year the Decade Exploded, by renowned cultural historian and music writer/journalist Jon Savage.
I didn't know about Lou Rawls. I like (Medley with Monologue) It Was a Very Good Year. Been listening on utube.
I bought da Capo and Forever Changes almost exactly 20 years ago. The latter is a classic of course, but I've listened to da Capo more. Its a favourite.
Esther Ofarim sings a beautiful version of Taste of Honey. There's also Paul Desmond featuring Jim Hall, comes to mind.
I have some Esther Ofarim albums and Esther & Abi albums...she was a spectacular singer during that time period.
Peace brother - keep it up, Tomorrow Never Knows still sounds as fresh as ever.
It's a fantastic, creative song for sure 👌 ✌️...Peace to you too.
@@kennysaudiophilerecordreviews Yes. It was ahead of it's time, and I guess still is. Keep on keeping on.
thanks 1966 is the year of my birth i have been searching for that year its nice
Great assortment of albums Kenny. Most groups would be sunk if a great singer like Signe Anderson left but the Airplane somehow got Grace Slick and "took off" even more.
On TV: Green Acres and The Beverly Hillbillies poking fun at pretentiousness, Daniel Boone with the gentle giant Rosey Greer, Batman, the Flintstones debut, It's the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown first airs, How the Grich Stole Christmas first airs.
Also a lot of conflict as society struggled to turn the page from many ugly historical injustices. Many people gave a lot to move us closer to our potential as a species. As a society, we've come a long way but we still have a ways to go. Like Peter Tosh says to Mick Jagger in (You Gotta Walk) Don't Look Back. Even if your feet are hurting, "You gotta keep on walking."
✌️👊🤙👍💪
P.s. People saying you look like Mr. Clean ain't so bad. At least it's not Mr. Magoo, or worse, Mr. Ed! 😂
I love you P.s. comments 😁😄 lol.
The Beverly Hillbillies was one of the best written comedies of all time.
You comments on society are spot on. Thank you very much for your comments ✌️
Hahaha. I must say after you mentioned Mr. Clean, you, in fact, do resemble Mr. Clean a little.😊 There are lots of things that come out of the 60's that I thought came later. Your favorite music group of the 70's Parliament even started in the 60's
Kenny still has guns!!! Looking great my friend!!! Great video. You’ve opened my ears to a great year of music I need to do a deeper dive into. Sinatra at the Sands is burnin! Have a great weekend Kenny!
Thank you very much for your kind comments, much appreciated 😀 😊...I hope that you enjoy your weekend ✌️
Yes!! Kenny.. Although 67 May Have To Be The Pivitioal Year For Me Music... 64 And 65.... And 66 Set Things Up !!!
1966/1967 impressive time window for movies and music. But in 1976 I had muscles and the “blockbuster” movies
Interesting video as always Kenny. Hard for me to pick one year, since there was a lot of great music, from say 1965-1975. I just have to sit back and enjoy it all.
1966 was a high water mark, I don't think there was a year even close until maybe the 80s or 90s
That's a tough question. 1966 was indeed an awesome year. I was in grammar school but I bathed in the vibe. But I would also at 1969-71. I'm Brasiian and went wild when Sergio Mendes and Brasil '66 dropped, along with the introduction of Bossa Nova. To hear THAT music in the United States was too much. I live in a college town and it saddens me that kids nowadays have been programmed to dismiss any music that's not current. Ironically, when there are festivals there are never any bands playing their music but when there is a band they ALWAYS play old school jams. So there are those who didn't succumb to the music industry's efforts to brainwash them away from listening to earlier music in order to profit from what's being presently produced now but those kids usually have parents who are Boomers.
I definitely agree that the current generation overall does not appreciate the music of the past...some do but the majority do not.
What about these?
The Tutles - You Baby
The Association - And Then... Along Comes
The Temptations - Gettin' Ready
The Supremes - I Hear A Symphony
The Young Rascals - The Young Rascals
The Lovin' Spoonful - Hums of the Lovin' Spoonful
The Beach Boys - Pet Sounds
Paul Revere and the Raiders - Midnight Ride
Rolling Stones - Aftermath
Cream - Fresh Cream
Mamas and Papas - If You Can Believe Your Ears
Most I have in my collection and they are all great 👍 👌 👏 ...thank you very much for taking the time to post your comments 😊
1966,a great year for music, not so good for sport thanks to a blind Russian Linesman 😉
