      Think of it this way: Shaq’s rookie year was Chuck’s MVP season. He got to experience Prime Barkley and it likely left and impression on him

      +Nicklas Mudymba with ease??? I mean I agree that Shaq would beat Howard obviously, but don't you think Dwight would do something, I mean he's a 3 times defensive player of the year

    • @IanLEAU
      @IanLEAU 8 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Dwight is not guarding shaq, especially in his Orlando days. That guy was averaging 20+ points in his rookie year, then jumped to almost 30 in his 3rd year. As a matter of fact, the league in the 90s was dominated by big men and the standard of big men were far higher back then than they are today. Dwight wouldn't even play center in the 90s, he'd be coming off the bench as a power forward at best.

    Ran a 40 in 4.4 seconds. Bench pressed 500+ pounds (ask Arnold Schwarzenegger). Had a vertical of apparently 50 inches (he was a track and field star). Average height of centers back then was 6'10''.

    Elevator Ernie slappin the floor...classic

  • @basketballpro1231
    @basketballpro1231 11 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    He used to dunk from teh free throw lines for his free throws in high school. He would start at the top of the key, throw the ball up toward the basket, take two steps, jump toward the rim and jam the ball through the net. Doing this resulted in basketball rules to state that a player cannot cross the plane of the free-throw line when shooting a free-throw.

    The reason for less post up big men like shaq is because of international competition. Teams overseas run pick and roll and pick and pop cuz their big men space the floor out. NBA players had trouble guarding the pick n roll/pop in Olympics so that's why there's less big men with a strong post game.

He was an ultra talented center, but had so much to learn when it came to being great. He even said it in a 2005 documentary. he finally reached he full potential with the lakers. And by then, Those bigs that you stated, were past their prime. SHaq had no true competition at center when he was in his prime. Dont question me about my favorite player.
