I am pretty damn sure the equipment leaves with the MP as they leave office instead of being returned to the state.
its a quirk of how our system works. each MP is technically self employed, they are not employed by the state, the state merely makes funds available to them. So any equipment they purchase is theirs, not an employees to be returned when they leave the job. I think its silly, but its just another weird thing in our very weird democracy.

From a quick review of the facts, it seems the UK is paying around £91m per year (over 99 years) for the lease of territory for the Diego Garcia facilities which are seen as a vital national security site for the USA and UK. There is speculation those costs could double from £9bn to £18bn over a century if the basis of payments was changed in the way Mauritian Prime Minister Navin Ramgoolam has suggested. Please avoid confusing the aggregate sum for a century-long deal with the annual change in government revenues with recent policy changes. PMQs is not a government communication exercise. MP,s expenses should always be based on the minimum cost to get the job done, options for upgrading should come out of their own pockets, when you look at the things they claim for very little of their large salary gets spent on actual living expenses like everybody else, as for trump it was obvious he had offered Netanyahu something mega in order to get a cease fire on the eve of his inauguration.
What I hear no-one talking about is why is the government expected to be paying out for the horizon scandal? The post office got privatised. When it was sold, didn't the issues get sold part and parcel with the assets? Get the new owners to fork out for resolving it and if they can't afford it then use that to force it back into public hands for cheap.

@ that wasn’t the most expensive iPad by far. And I’ve had to buy shredders more expensive than that for FDA medical device projects that kill paper by the tree. Ava is naive.
@@1dkappe far more expensive than any ipad needed for the basic admin jobs MPs do. They don't need next generation tech to send emails and take facetime calls.
@ is it for his office? For a social media person? Graphic design? Video producer? Do you even use an iPad for something non-trivial?
@1dkappe doesn't really matter. Taxpayer money isn't for MPs' graphic design work, it's for basics like travel and stationery. I'm a bit confused by the wording of your question. Do you mean me specifically, or the proverbial 'you'? I don't use an ipad for anything personally. I use a macbook for actual work though, and it cost less than that ipad apparently cost.
It seems crazy to me that we’d give the Chagos islands away to Mauritius and pay £18 billion for the privilege.
🍋🟩🤠
That’s enough now children, bed-time.
god badenoch is so rubbish - please make it stop
tough watch as always
Why do you keep coming here then
Easy watch… just press play and sit back, receive opinion based information and a few jokes… what’s tough about that? 🤷♂️
Very poor episode. I come here for political commentary and insight not sexual comments and innuendo. And I expect better than (Chagos Islands) an economically illiterate direct comparison between lifetime costs of a 99 year deal and short term savings from things like Winter Fuel Allowance.
Ive unsubscribed , no point in these two discussing anything, what a waste of space.
£1.55 for milk. It was likely Oat. Tesco own brand is £1.45 and that’s the cheapest
i'm very happy with the potential £18bil for mauritius as it's one step closer to mauritian world domination🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺
