The joke is that when you drop bread with butter it always lands on the butter side because it’s unlucky and that cats always land on their feet. So he attaches both of them together and they automatically spin at increasing velocities to land on the preferred side which generates infinite energy.
In reality the more likely outcome is that the toast would come loose at around 1 revolution per second or so and would fly outward at the speed of one of scouts baseballs and splat engineer in the face.

IMHO the better ending would the spinning makes the toast and cat separate after they get spinning fast enough, and fly off in opposite directions, The cat flies through the spawn room door and gets caught by heavy, the toast hits Engie in the face.
I want to believe that because this energy is rooted in the cat, it can just trigger a cascade like this, and knock itself back into reality. Would it ensure that the cat goes back to earth? No. Would the cat still thrive on that planet like an extreme invasive soecies? Most likely.
Meh, I think the cat would have enough control over the process to aim for earth, although I imagine (s)he wouldn't go straight back to Engie, (s)he would probably aim for a retirement home that needed a new mascot.
