Guitarist Yuki is still criminally underated guitarist here in Western world. Her own band D_Drive just celebrate their 15th anniversary. Basist Waka left the band and is touring in Marty Friedman’s band. They are starting their Northern American tour in two weeks.

Hey Dave, you had the same reaction to this song and group as I did.. It's a Masterpiece of a song..
The band was formed by Ayasa, Yuki and Wakazaemon in August 2023. Yes, another Super group.
Ayasa the violinist is not ony exceptionally talented but sheer Class..
Minato is the awesome lead vocalist,
Yuki is the crazy skilled guitarist, the founder of the group D-Drive,
Mizuki is yet another very talented drummer ex Lonesome blue,
Wakazaemon is the phenominal left handed bassist. She sadly left the group in December 2024, but was replaced the same month by Mina the YT internet sensation, so great replacement for East of Eden..
More good news is that Wakazaemon who was a stand in session Bassist for the newly formed band Koiai who you love, appears to have signed on with them as a permanent fixture.. So win win all round for us..
Check out some more they are Awesome and are going places..
Please also check out another Japanese all female band called Aldious and their song Reincarnation live.. Acoustic, violin and full on twin lead metal all wrapped up in a haunting silky smooth voice..
Best wishes as always from France.

This is a relatively new supergroup, founded in 2023, and an emphatic statement on the depth of talent in the Japanese metal scene. Most of the members have roles with other bands, so it’s not clear this is more than a project, but we’ll see. What we’ve seen so far is spectacular.
The hook? This is a metal band built around a violinist. (The closest thing I know of is Unlucky Morpheus, where Jill often takes a lead role). Ayasa plays a custom five-string electric violin, which I’d say is pretty metal. She is also the founder of the band.
    Original personnel:
Violin: Ayasa Shimamura (1991) (currently with Morfonica)
Guitar: Yuki (1987) (founder and co-lead in D-Drive)
Bass: Wakazaemon (1997) (bassist with Marty Friedman and other projects)
    Drums: Mizuki (Lonesome Blue)
Vocals: Akane Minato (1990) (x Predia, several other groups)
Wakazaemon recently left because of other obligations including an upcoming tour with Friedman and a busy schedule with Koiai. She has been replaced by Mina, another phenomenal bassist best known for her series of videos on youtube.
Akane has a powerful, forward vocal timbre which is somewhat reminiscent of Fuki (Unlucky Morpheus)-interesting parallel since UM are the big-name band that features a violin.
They have posted several songs in different styles so far, all showing off great songwriting, jedi-level mastery of their instruments, and Akane’s powerful vocals. They have also issued their first EP. Definitely a band to watch!

Essentially a supergroup of musicians. Each member is elite level. Ayasa is a shredder on violin, love it. It's a shame the bassist, Wakazaemon, left (She tours with Marty Friedman and does bass work with Koiai - amother awesome band), but her replacement, Mina, is a star in her own right. The all-female Japanese rock/metal bands are making a majority of bands elsewhere sound like amateurs.

The bass player, Wakazaemon, left after the first year anniversary concert, and was replaced by former Girlfriend bassist and social media darling, Mina. Their new song/video, Shooting Star, is the first song with Mina on bass, and also their first video with a story to it. Their first full album comes out on March 12th. It's called The First Eden - Seeds of Hope.

The best part of this reaction: you tried to switch on the subtitles, and for some reason the subs read "Jesus" -- and it looked like that was exactly what you were thinking, watching this video! Bassist Wakazaemon is touring with Marty Friedman and she also plays with KOIAI, at least sometimes. New bassist Mina was with a band called Girlfriend. She's just as good as Wakazaemon, but less flamboyant and extravagant to watch. I expect you to bring out your air violin next time around!

Not the worst way to make a name for yourself with a new band, is it? 🤭
Yeah, the lovely Ayasa with her violin obviously has a good sense of how her already amazing classical tones can be combined quite well with rock music. For all of us, it was the right decision for her to found EoE and lead its path. And even though EoE's catalog isn't that huge yet, it's already clear that this group of amazing musicians is very versatile thanks to all the talent they combine, and they don't do things by halves.
It has already been mentioned that the pink-haired bouncy bass player Wakazaemon/Waka is no longer part of the band, but we will certainly see her elsewhere soon. She is certainly not only visually outstanding, but also a fantastic team player who can also turn into a beast in a fraction of a second when given the chance. :) But even her successor MINA seems to fit seamlessly and seemingly effortlessly into this complex construct that is EoE as they've already proven with their latest song 'Shooting Star'.

    Mr. Dave M.
Since you are a musician, with AYASA on violin,
You are a musician, so you were quick to note AYASA, a violinist, and WAKAZAEMON, a left-handed bassist.
WAKAZAEMON (WAKA) is a young bassist of formidable skill and talent.
WAKA is the bassist for the Marty Friedman Band.
The previous bassist of the Marty Friedman Band was KIYOSHI, another Japanese female bassist of great skill.
KIYOSHI is a must-know Japanese female bassist.

AYASA on violin is a rock violinist, but with a bachelor's degree, winning prizes and awards in contests around the world.
However, the genius out of the order of magnitude in the Japanese rock scene is JILL of the super-technical band Unlucky Morpheus.
