I'm glad that you covered (and enjoyed) this R&T event. For those viewers who are unfamiliar with our organization's largest event, this is actually called The Rough and Tumble Engineers Historical Association's Old Thresherman's Reunion. This was the 75th anniversary of the event, and it's great that you covered it.
I am amazed that I did not see you there Rinoa. Was there for two days. This is most certainly the best steam show in the east coast. The used to have twice as much stuff years ago. There was a fall out between some people and they went to another state. Forget which one fella. I see you with your friend or girlfriend ?? Hope to see you their next year Rinoa. Peace vf
Great video, it was like having a second day at the show. Sorry I missed you there. Next time visit the buildings with the large factory steam and gas engines. The huge Cooper tandem, double acting engine is featured on a few TH-cam videos. I always like the flea market booth you were at around the 15:00 mark. Nice fellow and I always seem to find something good there.
Heavy duty things of beauty! I'd totally nerd out there. A nice comment on 19th century everyday life too - it sure must have been dirty! The part where Huber looked like Ůber made my day :D
I was at Kinzer on the first day, Wed. The flea market prices were high. I did not get much. Did you visit the line shaft machine shop? How about the display of steam powered and vintage cars and trucks. In the same building was a fellow who built a steam power bicycle - from scratch! Very impressive. The fellow was at a table. A good conversation. I got to see one of the OilPull tractors being "jump started" by a crawler. So much easier than the operator having to stand on the flywheel to get the flywheel rotating. If you like Kinzer you may like the Blue Mountain Antique Gas and Steam Engine Association shows in Jacktown PA. They have 4 events a year. The next is Oct 21-22. Not as large as Kinzer, but still worth the visit. The prices at the flea market are normally not as high as this years Kinzer event. Dave.
