    Great build-the rotor throws it off for me, but otherwise super fun and an accessible way to get into a Polerouter.

    • @perpetuality
      @perpetuality  3 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Fair enough, I wasn't sure about the rotor either but I couldn't stand the bare bones look of the NH35 either! So i picked the lesser of two evils

    Really enjoyed this step by step build... UG polerouter are becoming grail status and i am not about to pop $5K for a nice one. This is a sweet alternative, Thanks for the video!

    This looks so classy! The little scratch on the hour hand just adds personality to it.
    Would you consider listing the exact parts you used from Namoki for others who want to create a similar watch?

    • @perpetuality
      @perpetuality  3 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Thank you! And yes, it’s just that TH-cam limits the size of the URL I can share so I’ll have to list the item codes: Case, NMK953, PR dial, pitched dauphine hands. If you search these terms you’ll find them!

    Nice build. I find using the "post" end of the spring bar tool best for installing seconds hands. Wider tools can bend the hand or tail down. Also look into a visor type of magnifier that fits like a hat. if you do much of this, hunching over close with a loop is tiring.

    I feel exactly the same as you. Unfortunately Brietling has indicated UG prices wil start at high 4 figures. Ive been thinking about doing this build for a few months. Perfect timeing on the vid. This may be enough for me to pull the trigger.

    • @perpetuality
      @perpetuality  3 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Think of the poor soul who waits to buy a new UG from breitling and suffer the breitling depreciation too- many unknowns! Thanks for watching!

    That snowflake rotor is awesome! very GS like, i had a similar version on my GS build, did you have any clearance issues with the rotor rubbing against the caseback?

    • @perpetuality
      @perpetuality  3 วันที่ผ่านมา

      It was a very tight fit, and yes it did rub. I think the snowflake rotor is better suited for SKX builds where the caseback provides more room

    I thought the gold ring was a part of the dial all along these time. never know it's a chapter ring.

    • @perpetuality
      @perpetuality  2 วันที่ผ่านมา

      The only tricky part is making sure you have perfect alignment as you can’t adjust the chapter ring so easily for this case

    I've had a really hard time finding a screwdriver that's the right size for the rotor.
    Can you link yours here, please?

    • @perpetuality
      @perpetuality  2 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Truth be told it’s easier to buy the whole set-I bought mine from aliexpress i think it was called watchmakers screwdriver set

    Amazing watch. But you bought wrong movement, should go for NH38 a dateless version, than you wouldn't have ghost date. I Like the rotor it is beautiful. Personally, would buy the halv circle, the standard shape in gold this one has to be removed to adjust the rate and beat error.

    • @perpetuality
      @perpetuality  18 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

      Yep good call out on the movement. I would’ve went with the NH38 but I had a NH35 on hand and went with it for the purpose of moving things forward to get this video out

    The Polerouter is supposed to relaunch in 2026. It's cool that Namoki has kits to build a tribute. But the oversized parts makes it lack that Genta finesse IMHO.

    • @perpetuality
      @perpetuality  2 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I agree that it’s sized up and loses a bit of elegance of the vintage-brands like Omega relaunched their Seamaster 1948 but sized up just above 38mm. So it’s on point for the current up sized trend. Would love it more in 37mm

    Is it me or the rotor doesnt seem to be moving freely ?

    • @perpetuality
      @perpetuality  วันที่ผ่านมา

      I mentioned in the comment section that it is a little too tall for the caseback and it’s meant for SKX builds. Will be swapping it out

    NH 35 is so wrong for this dial. Now you have ghost position.

    • @perpetuality
      @perpetuality  2 วันที่ผ่านมา

      True-but this is a budget build and I wanted to keep it low cost and it was the only movement I had on hand. I can think of a dozen other movements that could be better-like the miyota 9039 but for the low cost and no headache solution I don’t mind the nh35 and can live with a ghost date. It’s a $25 movement-can’t complain much

    Great video! May I recommend not going for such a tight depth of field on the top-down shots? It doesn't add anything, and the camera constantly refocussing is really jarring. Take my feedback as you will of course! Look forward to the next one!

    • @perpetuality
      @perpetuality  วันที่ผ่านมา

      Thanks for the feedback Drew! Unfortunately I was working with overcast day and poor lighting on a crop sensor camera with a f2.4 lens that is ancient with its autofocus hunting. But it is the only close focus lens I have-will work to improve lighting or manual focus next time!

      @DrewpieDrew วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @perpetuality Ahh!! I thought it was intentional - lots of creators seem to opt for this style. To be fair, it's the first of your videos I've watched. I've subscribed though! Also, will check out your other videos; I really like your pace and narrative.
