As we gather together, let us remember
There are many broken souls among us
As we preach “Thou shalt” and “Thou shalt Not”
Let it never be said that we forgot
That we need to hear the Gospel along with the Law
Each time we walk through the door
So give him your fear, your doubt, your shame
He welcomes you, and offers you his name
Oh, broken soul hear the good news today
There is comfort waiting for you in the arms of Jesus
Those who come to him he will never drive away

The church is more than a place to show off your smile
It’s meant to be a haven of rest
A place for weary souls to come in from the cold
Why then do we so often forget
That along with being told to go run the race
We also need to be reminded to just rest in grace?
The goodness in his heart far exceeds
Any song you and I could ever sing

It’s OK to simply ask him to take the pain away
