0:40 Legit the saddest part of this fight... The Hollow Knight gains partial control of his body, and stabs himself in order to help you win, but then the infection just overcome him and literally throws him around like a puppet.
I kinda got the impression the Radiance made the vessel stab itself. Like, it cares about the body that little, it just wants to let out more plague goup.
Isaac Bryce The only reason i thought he was trying to hurt himself and Not make more plague was because he was specifically stabbing the infected part of his chest, as if trying to 1. suppress it, and 2. stop himself. But that was just how I saw it!

HK and Little ghost are about the same age, as evidenced by the birthplace flashback. All of the other vessels were probably born around the same time too. HK is not tall and big because of age but because of some sort of "training", as evidenced by the journal entry for Pure Vessel: "Mighty god of nothingness, trained to prime form."
JiJi refers to shades as regrets. So maybe once their purpose was fulfilled and those regrets were gone, the shades were gone too as a sign of their peace.
I get emotional every time I see this ending. It's so well-crafted, and despite the fact that we straight up died, it makes us feel like we made the right choice. The Radiance is gone, thereby ridding the Infection of the bugs of Hallownest, the Siblings are able to rest, and the Hollow Knight is at peace. We, in our final moments, were able to complete our biggest, and final mission. Everyone is free. But we were not the only victims. I personally feel bad for the Radiance, because, she is not as malevolent as the lore paints her to be. She was wronged, forgotten by her tribe in favor of a new light. She wanted revenge. And for her trouble, she was sealed away in a (mostly) empty mind for an unknown amount of time, her subjects were killed, and as was she- by something made by the creature she loathed so much. I feel bad for the Shades, for they were sacrificed to a purpose that ultimately, was useless and inhumane. The scream of the void calling them to unite, consume, and annihilate the Old Light, while being helpless, as inherently, they were decided as flawed and useless. They were trapped with nothing but the corpses of themselves and all of their thousands of other siblings, each one being no better off than the last. The fragmented wills of discarded vessels, who were killed by the person who was supposed to protect them. By their father. All this pain- all for nothing. And we, the Little Ghost of Hallownest. Honestly, there are no words to describe the kind of sympathy I have for this poor vessel child. They were forced to fight through hordes of monsters, controlled by the supposedly benevolent higher being who, in a fit of rage, drove their home and family to absolute madness, becoming the cause of death of thousands of their siblings, and pitting almost every living creature against them. Almost every companion they encountered was either slaughtered or taken away, and regardless of circumstances, they were ultimately left alone, one way or another. There was no happy ending for little Ghost. They died with no-one to stand by them. They, unlike everyone else, were never brought peace. Everyone else got to move on, and they didn't. Their only respite is that, in their sacrifice, they brought the core of the infection down. They, ultimately, completed their final goal. And, in their current circumstance, that's probably the best ending they can get. At the very least, they died fulfilled.
I think there’s some lore implying that the void uses the corpse of the Pale King’s children. Like the Kingsmoulds that are essentially robots controlled by void. So idk if the Knight even has a sad story (that depends on if the voids can actually have emotions unlike what the pale king believed). But the Hollow Knight had a will of its own so I’m honestly not sure. And it’s not really confirmed that stopping the radiance will cure the bugs of their infection. It only really stops the source of the infection.
I agree, but I do not feel bad for the Radiance. Yes, being forgotten sucks, but going to mass torture and genocide everyone will never be justified. If she wanted her revenge, she should've targeted the Pale King himself, who was her "replacement". Everyone in Hallownest chose to love and follow the Pale King, even the moths. I'm guessing because he was more present than the Radiance was? Obviously, mass filicide isn't the way to go either, so he is just as bad as her, yet I still lean towards his side. He was trying to protect his people. That, to me, is a more acceptable reason than revenge. (maybe because I symphatise more with the Radiance's victims than with her. And sorry for my bad English :3)

I can only say that the Hollow Knight didn't necessarily stand alone by the end. He had his siblings by his side in the end, and although ultimately it is only subtext (unspoken at that), but I like to think that by the end, there was at least a sense of brotherhood as they all managed to finally escape the Radiance's control in order to fulfil their purpose. Or will she be able to go to the city of tears, where, hopefully, all of the infected citizens are now cured, so that the rebuilding can begin? Who knows.

Dude, you made the radiance fight look like a cakewalk. I lost with the first minute, and I was at full health because I didn’t get hit by the Hollow Knight. Tho it was first time seeing the radiance, I’m ready to hop back in and try again
Coming back now, the worst part of the whole Hollow Knight fight is just the fact when Hornet stabs him, he's in the exact position of when he stabs himself.
this ending, it's made me tear up every time I watch it. something about the lore of it, the fact that the cute little knight you play as sacrificing themselves, the music, it's all emotionally powerful to me. I love this game probably too much, but I don't care; it's a definite 10/10 for me.
Radiance = Stooped guy who set plague/orange goo but made bugkind in the first place. King = Made the bugs get smarterer. Made Hallow knights as to hold in the plague.
But the king isn't all that good. Remember the "No cost too great" from the king. He says that because by making all those voids the king made a new threat to Hallownest. If you dream nail JiJi, he talks about how regrets (or voids) are increasing and the air is too heavy (the hunter also talks about this in his journal). But, if you get the true ending, you let all the voids rest, so you solve both problems.
It is most likely that it will be about hornet. :/ but we may never know. All i know is that it wont be about our little guy as he is resting in peace. Like everyother "try" to kill the hollow knight. But it could be about Hornet trying to ressurect him. :p
It could be a series of DLC's that are being worked on at the same time as the 2nd game so the DLC's are there to keep us waiting? OR it could be that we won't get the 2nd game and just DLC's. I would like the 1st option tho.
The moment I was banging the shit out the Radiance with the Hollow Knight I screamed at the screen out loud "FOR MYLAAAAA" with incontrollable passion This game made me feel so much emotions...
I really do wonder how much of the Hollow Knight was inspired by Dark Souls' Artorias. The way he moves, his one-armed attacks, his possessed roaring, it's all there.
Literally none of it. Team Cherry themselves said that before the making of Hollow Knight, they played none of the Dark Souls games. It's only when people started making the comparison that they were like "oh haha what a coincidence"
None of it was, the possessed roaring is from the radiance, many infected bosses in the game including the hollow knight also do the same roar. His one armed attacks are from his body being eroded by the infection. Team Cherry stated that no one in their team had played Dark Souls before making Hollow Knight.
@@disappointmentjuice8676 you don't need to play it to know about dark souls. You can just learn about it passively. I knew about artorius before I knew about dark souls. And let's be honest. A one armed swords man that starts their boss fight with a screech, is corrupted by the thing they wanted to prevent and have connections to the king of the land that seems similar enough that people will make the assumption that the hollow knight is inspired by artorius.
This game is most likely worth 100$ instead of 15. Literally. This was one of the best games in my entire life and the developers and such an amazing team. I would give them 3 mansions to make Hollow knight 2 or something like that.
I just like the thoughts that when you were delivering de killing blow the hollow knight says "You will be forgotten" while The Radiance scream and vanished in the darkness
I'd like to think your character is the collective souls of bugkin whose fallen to the infection(not in-game SOUL, but every dead bugkin). And this ending is the collective bugkin souls having its vengeance upon the infection. They cannot rest until it is done. And once it is, they fade to sleep for good.
I DIED so many times, cause im a bad player and want to see how i can defeat the Radiance. and now........... I AM BACK! After the final boss. After the three rounds of the fools. After beating Grimm second form. And last but very least.... The Absolute RNG. I beat it. I Fucking beat the game and come back to this vid. Only to say. THAT WAS A "MASTERPIECE"* (*delete the 5th pantheon, it sucks, frustrating and nobody likes it.).
If you think about it the ending with the siblings sinking into the ground is...sadder then you think The siblings where made to contain the infection and knew nothing else one way to look at this is that there finally put to rest or there eternally doomed to spend life with no purpose anymore
For those struggling with the boss I'll give my tips because I just beat the game today. I used 2 extra health charms and the quickslash charm as well. For the Hollow Knight fight, just kinda spam slashing him and dodge his moves (he only has like 4 moves so you'll learn the animations), and when he's down you can heal if you need to, but if you've got a lot, hit him a lot while he's hitting himself because you'll get a bunch of damage in. Lucky for you, if you make it to Radiance, you'll start with your bonus health again. Use your shriek as much as you can in this fight (just make sure you have time to dodge something if it's close). Slashing him will give you soul quick so you are almost never low on soul. For the platform part of the fight, keep using shriek if you can and heal far away from him if you need to. Wait for him to come to you, don't bother jumping towards projectiles to get to him, you'll get yourself killed. The jumping at the end is easy. Boom you're done. This boss took me 8 attempts with trying different charms and not using shriek, but then I beat it on my 2nd attempt when using the health and shriek. Good luck!
The funniest thing? They say its a game about bugs. Team Cherry Lost bug rights after the Abyss. Remember what the statue at Godhome said: "Not bug, Nor beast, Nor god"
I think this is fair. The Radiance is not a pure evil, but someone who wanted revenge from a king. She got her revenge on him and his children, and Pale King's plan succeeded, so I think both are happy wherever the heck they are. I only feel bad for Hollow Knight and his siblings, cause they still have feelings
I feel like such a story couldn't be told in a more realistic art style, which makes the art choice brilliant. In any other context, I feel like this story would be too tragic and too gruesome. I don't know if it would have hit me as hard... it's so incredibly tasteful and brilliant, and I was blown away to find out Team Cherry was such a small workforce and not a large team of well-paid and well-known developers. Bravo to this masterpiece. So full of deep lore, mystery, magic and most importantly... fun!
It's a good thing. The residents of Hallownest have shown that if anything, they're incredibly resilient and can adapt to numerous outcomes. Without the Radiance forcing its control over them through the infection, they can live peacefully in their little villages.
Plot twist: the knight is an immortal time traveler who is payed by the developers to be in the game, he is self aware. And he never died, he just troll a lolll a lollled Hornet.
I felt that delay when the knight was supposed to slap the radiance to death lol. On my first playthrough I was wondering why no one was doing anything.
Dumb people angry at Silksong having a different protagonist and complaining "Why they didn't use the protagonist of the OG game!? WHY?! I wanna see more adventures of Hollow Knight!" Me: Well... there are reasons.
Light tries to destroy darkness at all costs but it fails to realize that if it destroys darkness then the yang of its yin is also destroyed There is no light without darkness and there is no darkness without light but light doesnt understand and tries to destroy darkness at all costs
Why is this ending considered worse than the godmaster ending? In that one a bunch of (mostly) innocent creatures get killed who have no quarrel with the main characters or hollow nest. The only different is that the pure vessel survived But he’s gonna fight hornet? So that means he’s just gonna die again? So why is the godmaster ending any better? It isn’t

I've been searching and can't quite find an answer, so I'll just ask here: why do people call this ending "true"? It's not more cannon than the others, so isi t just that there is another final boss, or the fact that we "save the world"? Does that make it true?
We call it true since the vessels fufill their duty, and are realesed, other endings are cannon yes. But im pretty sure you choose your own ending each time. There isnt another boss. That is pretty much the end of game when you reach one of the endings. I dont personally dont think this is true ending for me it would be "embrace the void" but with that flower yk. Hornet also told me that I am but a vessel of a million
Also why is there a poodle moth as a huge boi?
Because poodle moths are smaller than flowers._.
naw its nawt spell liek dis it is git gud xD i speak like that purposely
I always thought that she was saying get through personally
Dude, you made the radiance fight look like a cakewalk. I lost with the first minute, and I was at full health because I didn’t get hit by the Hollow Knight. Tho it was first time seeing the radiance, I’m ready to hop back in and try again
It's best to Go with full upgraded nail
@Truth I did It with the Grimm child charm
@Truth -the radience is a female-
1:53 that luck tho
Imagine all this shit happening in your own lawn.
And then you just stepped on them

It's funny since your description is literally Bug Fables.
Also play Bug Fables.

we'll meet soon again on the road ahead
this was one of the last sentence

there might be more
She was talking about the "Git Gud" part...
But we are getting a Hornet DLC.
#HYPE
we are getting a hornet dlc and team cherry will make more games than hollow knight
@@overseerbomb7632 i really can't wait to see everything there. Just think about it. Music. Lore. Map. Hornets mechanics. Its gonns be so damn epic.
We are getting a full-on sequel with Hornet now, so there you go!
*_prepare your spools._*
Coming back now, the worst part of the whole Hollow Knight fight is just the fact when Hornet stabs him, he's in the exact position of when he stabs himself.
Well he was about to do it when Hornet jumps in
Nothing special there
Dman hornet
He stabs him self helping the main character as you play as cause he is fighting the infection and can control a tiny bit sometimes.
Yeah I always thought the Hollow Knight was stabbing themself, only after rewatching it loads of times I realised it was Hornet who did it
The knight: Dont worry, im good
My shad gonna be back to my vessel soon
Can you help me find some super glue to fix my face?
Lol that's what would actually happen
AURA the FOX that is so true
Yeah i found it
plot twist: this is just a beetle biting a light bulb until it stops working, extended into an incredibly long and depressingly good game
3:48
Ghost's horns suddenly seem a bit longer. They also look a bit similar to a young Hollow Knight's horns in the Path of Pain cutscene.
And the birthplace cutscene
this ending, it's made me tear up every time I watch it. something about the lore of it, the fact that the cute little knight you play as sacrificing themselves, the music, it's all emotionally powerful to me.
Radiance = prideful g who killed civilization to not be forgotten
Pale king = fucker who disposed of billions of children because they thot
Acxualy radiance created only the moths
Thrak The Carrier Of The Moonlight I don't know brother
All I know is I have to find lamps
King : set 1000 buzzsaws in his palace
If this game is about bugs then is the Radiance the size of a Jumbo Pen?
It's a moth.
It's a poodle moth
Meaning it's smaller than a buttercup flower
If the pale king's wyrm corpse was atleast the size of a big snake then the radiance would fit in your hand
Now I feel regret by throwing water at all those nests as a kid.
I DROWNED ENTIRE CIVILIZATIONS
Just imagine if there was humans in Hollow Knight.
I also love how whenever you are jumping up to hit the final blow you see all the shades just watching in shock
Why did he died ;_; I liked him so much....
there was a after credit say tobe continue.
Well, you don't know if continuation of the game will be about our little knight.Maybe the sequel will be about Hornet.
It is most likely that it will be about hornet. :/ but we may never know. All i know is that it wont be about our little guy as he is resting in peace. Like everyother "try" to kill the hollow knight. But it could be about Hornet trying to ressurect him. :p
We do know that additional characters are planned and will be added in upcoming DLC (aleast Hornet for sure).
It could be a series of DLC's that are being worked on at the same time as the 2nd game so the DLC's are there to keep us waiting? OR it could be that we won't get the 2nd game and just DLC's. I would like the 1st option tho.
The moment I was banging the shit out the Radiance with the Hollow Knight I screamed at the screen out loud "FOR MYLAAAAA" with incontrollable passion
This game made me feel so much emotions...
I like how the hollow knight helps you in the end
imagine not immediately spamming abyss shriek as soon as she appears
Not having soul:
3:17 The abyss rises.
There's no use if your the last sacred light in the world.
i pressed shift tab to see what time it was when i beat it and shift skipped the cutscene apparently so now im here
3:39 BROTHER! TRUE KNIGHT!! LONG HAS OUR HOME SUFFERED UNDER THIS TYRANT! NOW END IT! END OUR
Y3s
I’m gonna take a guess on what they said next: OPPRESSOR!
If the hollow knight could talk. I am sure he would say that!
It IS artorias, lmao, the fanbase is in full denial
Also much of hk was inspired by dark souls
I hope we see how hornet feels about The ghost deaths, since they where half siblings, and she got attached to him,I hope we see it in Silksong.
The end cutscene actually makes me cry, I know I’m weird
it was a very gud ending after all tho..
This game is most likely worth 100$ instead of 15. Literally. This was one of the best games in my entire life and the developers and such an amazing team. I would give them 3 mansions to make Hollow knight 2 or something like that.
No you are not weird, i am weird for not cryng at it.
*ah yes. Time to beat up the sun*
Nyeh heh heh
If Torgue can blow up the ocean, I can punch the sun.
4:58 when you're having a good sleep but suddenly dream of parasailing.
I just like the thoughts
that when you were delivering de killing blow the hollow knight says "You will be forgotten" while The Radiance scream and vanished in the darkness
“You will be forgotten”
Sear: My goal are beyond your understanding (The only one that still remembers about Radiance)
I'd like to think your character is the collective souls of bugkin whose fallen to the infection(not in-game SOUL, but every dead bugkin). And this ending is the collective bugkin souls having its vengeance upon the infection. They cannot rest until it is done. And once it is, they fade to sleep for good.
He's made of void tho
too farfetched, i think
I am rpetty suure its shades or siblings not bugkin its the vesells and the hollow knight is one of those vessels
THAT WAS A "MASTERPIECE"*
(*delete the 5th pantheon, it sucks, frustrating and nobody likes it.).
Congrats Fray! This is awesome
imagine the next game begins as the player as hornet
prob will xD
they announced hornet dlc, I think ...
Apocryphal boy do we have a suprise for you
Apocryphal Epitaph wow
If you think about it the ending with the siblings sinking into the ground is...sadder then you think
The siblings where made to contain the infection and knew nothing else one way to look at this is that there finally put to rest or there eternally doomed to spend life with no purpose anymore
Truly.. hollow
How to win tru ending
First:do game 100%
Two:sacrifice your self to save everyone
Hollow Knight has broken nail, while Pure Vessel has pure nail.
Or.
You could have asked a human to use a those electric lamps lol
When your body on bed makes that fake fall thing 5:00
1 detail I love is that its the hollow knight that helps you and holds the radiance down
For those struggling with the boss I'll give my tips because I just beat the game today. Good luck!
Thank you, I gave up and I couldn't beat the final boss but you made it look super easy. Thanks for finishing the story for me :)
The funniest thing?
They say its a game about bugs.
Team Cherry Lost bug rights after the Abyss.
Remember what the statue at Godhome said:
"Not bug, Nor beast, Nor god"
I think this is fair. The Radiance is not a pure evil, but someone who wanted revenge from a king. She got her revenge on him and his children, and Pale King's plan succeeded, so I think both are happy wherever the heck they are. I only feel bad for Hollow Knight and his siblings, cause they still have feelings
In the radiance boss fight the hollow knight's shade helps you.
Yeha
its not really his shade, rather it IS the Hollow Knight
We know
I feel like such a story couldn't be told in a more realistic art style, which makes the art choice brilliant.
So full of deep lore, mystery, magic and most importantly... fun!
I still can't tell if this outcome is a good thing or a bad thing
Lets Talk About Things a good thing
The infection is destroyed, so Hallownest can finally rest in peace without the infection terrorizing it.
It's a good thing. The residents of Hallownest have shown that if anything, they're incredibly resilient and can adapt to numerous outcomes. Without the Radiance forcing its control over them through the infection, they can live peacefully in their little villages.
its a good thing the hollow knight only had one purpose which was to stop the radiance
Good... but bittersweet. He gave his life and saved them all.
5:27
"He did it."
...
"Now we may rest."
Plot twist: the knight is an immortal time traveler who is payed by the developers to be in the game, he is self aware. And he never died, he just troll a lolll a lollled Hornet.
I felt that delay when the knight was supposed to slap the radiance to death lol. On my first playthrough I was wondering why no one was doing anything.
it's just me or this scene is too epic 3:36
Has anyone noticed that Hollow knight (Boss) has one arm
Uumu 3:43 his shade has two
Elios
Yeah but the actual Hollow Knight (boss) has two. Not going to spoil it for you but Godmaster sheds a bit more light on the topic.
5:52 tfw you’ll never play the game for the first time again
Factsss
imagine being a royal prince infected with the core of infection then get stabbed by a random knight and get "Git gud"
Dumb people angry at Silksong having a different protagonist and complaining "Why they didn't use the protagonist of the OG game!? WHY?! I wanna see more adventures of Hollow Knight!"
Me: Well... there are reasons.
I still remember the moment I made it to the statue in the City of Tears, and I suddenly think "Oh, I'm NOT the 'Hollow Knight'."
Who else was dumb and didn't realize the other creature holding Radiance down was the Hollow Knight
1:00
3:35
Final hits 😮
"MA! Come check this out, the stag beetle is tryna eat that one moth again!"
Game after 8:11: you can now play as Luigi
‘Light cannot exist without darkness’
I love The Hollow Knight!!! (The Boss)
His design is awesome!
And just listen to how he roars!!!
Light tries to destroy darkness at all costs but it fails to realize that if it destroys darkness then the yang of its yin is also destroyed
There is no light without darkness and there is no darkness without light but light doesnt understand and tries to destroy darkness at all costs
Why is this ending considered worse than the godmaster ending?
In that one a bunch of (mostly) innocent creatures get killed who have no quarrel with the main characters or hollow nest.
The only different is that the pure vessel survived
But he’s gonna fight hornet?
So that means he’s just gonna die again?
So why is the godmaster ending any better?
It isn’t
this endings cutscene is one of the best i've ever seen in videogames. The first time i finished the game and saw the dead souls finally resting hit like a truck.
Question for everyone...
Ever wonder if the corni the mapper was actually OP. He always managed to reach into tough ass places it took forever too reach and u be like how tf.
2:20 IS LITERALLY NO ONE GONNA TALK ABOUT THE FACT THAT HE TOOK NO DAMAGE AFTER CLEARLY GETTING HIT?????
You can see that at the star of the video he also didn't take damage, but thats not true he is using lifeblood core that gives you 4 blue mask, but i don't know why they are invicible
4:47 I cry every time. :.(
took me...3 3hour sessions to beat radiance i think? also what charms.. quick slash, lifeblood core, and mark of pride i can tell. also the crack in the hk's shade is just epic
Keep in mind, this all probably happened under a bench
Being serious, the knight fulfilled what he was made for, he is possibly now, the hollow knight
Gotta rewatch this for SILKSONG HYPE
1:15 Megaman x8
A man of culture
Gotta love that Hornet throws one final “Git Gud” at the knight before he fights the Radiance lol.
looking for WHY IS THIS IN MY RECOMMENDS I NEED TO BUY THIS GAME
This makes me depressed.
Hornet lives to tell the tale
I've been searching and can't quite find an answer, so I'll just ask here: why do people call this ending "true"? It's not more cannon than the others, so isi t just that there is another final boss, or the fact that we "save the world"? Does that make it true?
We call it true since the vessels fufill their duty, and are realesed, other endings are cannon yes. But im pretty sure you choose your own ending each time. There isnt another boss. That is pretty much the end of game when you reach one of the endings. I dont personally dont think this is true ending for me it would be "embrace the void" but with that flower yk. Since horent and HK would be still alive. But it depends how others see the endings.
This is like made in heaven
I like how the Hollow Knight helps restrain the Radiance so the protagonist can beat it down.
Yeah
RIP The Knight
why did the pale king try to seal away the radiance when he could have just *fucking killed it?*
Both King and Radiance are light-elemental entities, which mean they can't hurt each other using Pokemon's standard, so King had to sought away to couter the Radiance, which is Void.
Did you figure out how to open the blue door in the abyss?!
Yeah you need 15 Blue HP !
now that's a lot of blue masks
Just equip all 3 Lifeblood Charms and make sure you don't get hit while travelling.
You could also equip Fragile Health.
@@gebdemedici actually one of the three life blood charm is inside that door
Rip hollow knight his skull broke and now he is an actually ghost oof.
