SO many of these I have ALMOST picked up in bookshops - I have STROKED so many of these. Just read another Alix E. Harrow, The Ten Thousand Doors of January and it really surprised me, SUCH good writing, really fantastical.

🤣 I've stroked many of these books in the store as well haha! I've actually had my eye on The Ten Thousand Doors of January for a while... I may have to treat myself...

Okay but after going a year without reading (very much mental health related), the ACOTAR series got me back into my love of reading. I’ve read all five books in the past three weeks and I’m so excited for you to read Mist and Fury! The first book is trash compared to books 2 and 3,

Some great picks! I've read about half of these and just a word of caution that 'Detransition, Baby' has some heavier themes & can be hard to read too much in one sitting. I like to cycle a heavy & lighter book to read simultaneously so I can get through my TBR pile without feeling too down (and not have nightmares reading something upsetting before bed)!

Lucy, your book videos are probably my all-time favorite videos to watch on TH-cam! I'm so glad you've done so many recently, and can't wait to see how you get on with these books! I am absolutely dying to read The Song of Achilles because of your description of it ❤️

My TBR is in the 100s but as I buy most of them in charity shops it's very hard to leave a book behind if it's one you've been wanting to get your hands on! I've also convinced myself that it's fine to have lots of kindle books as they take up no physical space...
I absolutely loved Circe and Song of Achilles is high on my TBR pile (currently reading Ariadne by Jennifer Saint which I think you'd also enjoy if you're into greek myths).

I’ve recently read The Love Hypothesis and it lived up to all the hype on tiktok! My physical TBR pile is currently standing at 229 books and I’m on a book buying ban until I get them down to 150 but I’ve added at least half of the books that you’ve mentioned to my Amazon basket 😂

I loved this video so much! I was also influenced by tiktok to read the love hypothesis - it's alright so far but can't get over the constant description of olive being teeny tiny and adam being big and broad?! You made the point so well about the Hating Game and now I see it in so many books! thanks for taking the time to make these videos! xx

Idk if anyone has commented this, but from someone who works in WHSMith and has to change book stickers weekly, a lil tip. Peel of the sticker, get as much as you can off, and then use a rubber to rub off the rest. It doesn't always 100% work dependent on the finish of the cover, but it usually works pretty well!

Here to validate your books stack. I have over 200 books on my physical tbr and who knows how many on my kindle. “No more till I finish these” I say this all the time 🙈 I justify it because most of my books are from the charity shop so it’s not super expensive, but it still contributes to the huge pile on the floor! I read my first Stacey halls the other day - The Familairs - and really enjoyed it so looking forward to reading more by her. Circe was so amazing, really different to anything I’ve read before in the way it was written.

I didn't like Song of Achilles as much as everyone did, but I read it yeeaaars ago, when my taste hadn't fully developed yet (and I wasn't yet very used to reading in English), so I really want to give it another try, since it sounds right up my alley "on paper", and also since I absolutely LOVED Circe, which I read much more recently (last year). So yeah, I hope you'll love Circe as much as I did.
I also can't help but ALWAYS finish books, even if I'm not really enjoying them (that happens quite rarely, luckily, I feel like I know my taste pretty well), just in case they surprise me.

I found Wob (world of books) recently and it is going to be dangerous. They sell mostly used books that they buy from charity shops if they don't want them or don't have the space or the ones consumers sell on ziffit. I've been studying Korean and I found the most gorgeous fully illustrated Korean edition of the Jungle book on there and it is all the motivation I need to keep studying so that I can one day read that immaculate thing cover to cover. Also picked up The Mercies for my mum for mother's day based on your recommendation!

Perfect timing for a book haul video 😁 I've just got into my yearly "get back into reading" cycle and am working my way through the stupid amount of books I picked up in Waterstones 😂
Also it's so much fun to see what other people are in to! I'm working my way through James Herbert's Rats series 😱 😁
