living is tough. some days it's hard to even imagine waking up the next day. and as cliche as it sounds, it gets better. in fact, i used to think it would never get better. that was, what, december 2018? and things started getting better as soon as i felt capable to get out of bed every morning. that was march 8, 2019. if i went back in time to then and told my past self how much life is worth living nowadays, i wouldn't believe it.

But we have to find happiness and strength in small things, because that is what pushes us forward. Day6 music and kpop in general really helped me. 2019 is the worst year I've ever had.
I stuck with my research and thesis. I push people away, my family, friends, and someone who want to help me. My mind is always not right, I usually crying at night and feel useless after that. Until one day, I really want to end my life. I know there's something wrong with me.
I'm trying to ease my mind, I would doing anything to make me feel better. I learn about self acceptance. I'm loving my self more. I learn that it's okay to feeling negative for a while. I accept every pain that come to me.
And found this amazing band with lovely fandom (myday), their music help me a lot. There's a time I lose my self again, and they're keep me on track. Thank you so much Day6 for your music, your word, your encouragement. So I can still breath right now.

Just from the replies i could tell that there are not only MyDays who listen to this song. day6 is well known for making heartbreaking songs but this one has different vibe of sorrow. They lyrics can depict the meaning really well. For those who have lost hope, dream, and passion to live i wish we can find a ray of comfort in emptiness through this song and will comeback stronger.

i love how people interpreted this song as a song that talks about their mental state instead of a love song which is what it seemed to be marketed as before. i came back to read the english translations after listening to the english version because i know young k said that they didn't directly translate the korean lyrics but still wanted to keep the same mood and meaning and they did a fantastic job. even though day6 won't be promoting this on music shows i know this song will have a long-lasting impact in the long run and i want to thank them for releasing something so vulnerable.

This is so relatable, I love how they use Zombie as an imagery of our boring everyday life. We all are went through some good days and bad days, but most of the time it's a daily boring routine that we are living in. Mental health is so important. My heart goes out to this song and to the guys of Day6. It broke my heart when I heard that you guys were strugging with mental health. As someone who's diagnosed with clinical depression for almost 7 years, I wouldn't wish that kind of thing to my worst enemy, let alone a band that I admire and respect. Thank you for the music Day6. I have seen so many depressing posts on the Internet ever since this situation started, people feeling lonely and suicidal, everyone going through mental breakdowns. Itʼs extremely hard to protect your mental health when youʼre locked inside four walls. Iʼm so happy Day6 gave us a song that makes us feel less alone during these times. After what was annnounced earlier today, I sincerely hope they take care of their mental health too. Letʼs all give ourselves the love and care we deserve. Thank you Day6.

I'M CRYING. SOO RELATE WITH MY LIFE.
This is me before working from home. Every day leave in the morning, go home until 12pm-1am . Always crying in the beginning, until at the point that i am tired of crying. Time is running out on trips and in the office, there is no time for me to relax and rest.
Now it's almost 3 months working from home, i must stay 24/7 to maintenance client. Life is really hard, but i need to work cz i need money for life :')

I feel like in a way they're talking about themselves. They work so hard everyday to make more for their fans and of course they love doing it, it can just be difficult to keep up with sometimes and there is a lot of mental stimulation that is needed in their line of work to not become drained quickly. I just hope they stay happy and healthy with themselves and I really hope with this mental break they are taking will do them good because they work so hard like any idol.
Day6's comment section is always a refuge. It's not just about "who's your bias?" conversations, but deeper reflections. I found relief in everyone's stories and encouragement. I found wisdom in the way we interpret the message of the MVs. I found my voice thru the lyrics.
There are a lot of things that I can't find words to express, a lot of emotions that I'm afraid to show. But, this band did all that for me. They sang the words that I can't say, showed the feeling that I've been hiding everyday.

I feel like the capitalism system or just the way we work from 9am to 5pm just for money with no purpose except being able to buy things is also criticized because it's not really meaning something to do that and our dream are just fading away.
It's because so many people have become disconnected from their souls, and don't explore their spirituality and develop a deeper meaning for their lives. Money, and work, and even relationships aren't going to feed that hunger inside. We must tap into our hearts and listen to our souls speak. We're here for so much more, a bigger picture, but many alive today don't recognize this, and they feel hollow inside because of it. They need to recognize they are part of the universe, and the universe is inside of them. Source, the universe, God, whatever you want to call it- it's part of what we are, and it's what everything is derived from. We suffer a lot when we get caught up in the worldly shallow surface level stuff- the ego minds desires for pleasure, but no self actualization, no sense of connection to what's deeper, and what ties us to every living thing, and even the stars. When people come to recognize this, they can open their hearts to connect with life more deeply, themselves and others more deeply, knowing that they are part of the whole of creation. We are divine.

I'm crying soo much. As someone who has struggled with depression all their life, this song has given me so much comfort. I waking up each day has been a huge struggle. Not knowing my purpose in life and feeling completely lost. Not being able to think past the present and not seeing a future. I am honestly 'counting the time until I close my eyes'. My parents are not the type of people to acknowledge mental illnesses and in my culture, mental illness is a sign of weakness and associated with being broken. So I can't really tell anyone how I'm feeling. Just knowing that someone out there understands has made my heart feel so full of emotion, more than I thought I could feel. Even in my darkest days, Day6 makes me feel more alive than anything else. Day6, keep making beautiful music! Day6 Fighting!
Edit: Thank you to everyone who has wished me well. There are still bad days but I try to find at least one thing, no matter small, that makes happy or proud every single day. I want to thank everyone who has taken the time to read, write and like, not only my comment but other people's comments too. My pain has eased a lot knowing that I am not suffering alone and I'm sure that many people will feel the same way too!

niiiss my parents are the same. They’re not very much concerned with mental health and overlook it. They’re always concerned over my grades without thinking about my struggle mentally. I think this song really speaks out to the people going through tough times or just feel like they’re missing out on something beautiful in life that makes theirs complete

this hit me really hard; my whole life is a constant struggle to hold onto things that give me meaning and ignore the pressing sensation that i'm stumbling through life half asleep. mental health has always been a problem for me, and i've had some trauma in my past, and a reminder that other people have the same experiences is great because it pulls me out of the cycle of self pity and self loathing that traps me in a dark place. thank you, day6

Yesterday I finally got to watch Day6 live for the first time during their Forever Young tour in Malaysia. I've waited 9 years for them to come. It was very emotional for me and I realized how much I miss having Jae and listening to his unique voice. If only I can watch OT5 live.

These are troubling times and it’s important to stay safe. Day6 is helping us connect with our true selves, and find what we relate to through music. They are very talented boys helping us relate to something, which I think we all need every once in a while. It’s refreshing to just listen to someone pouring their emotions out through lyrics, that you relate to. We’re in something like a movie, wake up, do work/school and repeat. We never realize how much we need these kind of things to just sit down and listen to. My day, stay safe. Our boys are working hard and practicing for music for my day to listen to. (Sorry for bad English, I’m kinda brain dead rn)

what makes this song special is that it is everyone's story. the struggles, the daily grind, the fake hello, the dead spirit inside us. at one point in our lives, we become a zombie, living for the sake of it.
but being a zombie isn't the end. at one point, we become hopeful again, we want to live and feel alive.
as the members experience mental struggle, this song even speaks louder. although they are regarded as the band with no bad songs, they still become a zombie with empty hearts and empty minds. but i hope they feel alive again, not for us but for them--for the person that was lost, for the person they miss the most.
aside from the emotional lyrics, the instrumental is phenomenal! it's not the typical DAY6 where transitions are dramatic and vocals are dynamic. instead, this song sits on their lower to mid registers. but not to mistake, the chord progression is still as complicated as fck. and the mixing and transitions of the song is on another level like really complicated; they are subtle yet difficult to pull off.
so to end this essay, let's all support our superband to the end. i know we won't get any promotions for this comeback but please support them in our little ways. fighting DAY6. hope u get well, mydays are just here waiting. no rush.

I love how this song is inspiring so many to simply share their stories, to let others know they are not alone in feeling a certain way, to help view their world in a different way, that there’s always hope, that it’s okay to feel the way we feel sometimes. Seeing how this song touches each person differently, yet it touches us all the same, not satisfied with “just being a song”. It’s a message for us, for themself, whether you’re a fan or not, and I feel like it’s very powerful when a song can do that. Much respect to these boys, especially after hearing how they’re suffering from anxiety, like so many of us are in a world that can oftentimes lack empathy.
