Happy birthday to you 🎉🎉🎉
thank you
i stand corrected sorry okie i only have had the spray cans i guess i never read the full lable, your a good man really enjoy you knowledge
Thank you, I have always know wd as a penetrating oil, it does lub. but I think it lacks in lubing things, as a door hinge will squeak not long after using it. but I have used it in a distributor on a car to remove moisture, the wd stands for water displacement. take care, and Happy Scrapping
Enjoy your videos. Son-in-law fussed about our may use later junk. Later took about third of it to their house!!
funny how that works, I know a few things that I kept that I might need someday, I finely needed it and could not find it so I had to go buy it anyway
Well,I recently brought home a huge 15 hp motor from an HVAC and a VFD for it-nobody thought I was gonna be able to do anything with it but guess what?I ended up talking to the guys at the factory next to my house and they agreed to let me put a 3 phase 575V extension cord in their socket for a relatively small price and thus power the big guy up!And it does make difference when I apply it's power to get things done-my lathe never stalls and neither does my milling machine or anything else I am using it with!Plus all the perks of a VFD are also quite nice to have!
Happy Birthday Allen.
thank you
Happy Birthday Allen, Good video. Yes, when we have problems getting something to work it helps us figure out other ways to make it work.
Thanks 👍 improvise and overcome, never give up
The bolts you took out of the pully most times can be used to press the pully off. If the additional holes are present . Nice work.
On those larger motors, if the windings are hard to get out, I have sprayed WD-40 on them and let it soak in for a couple of hours. Sometimes it helps quite a bit! 👍👊
yeah, I should have tried that, one guy said separate the plates. I have done that in the past.
Sometimes you will have an item that is well as they say a royal pain in the backside. I was going to say the same thing, use a heat source to help with that. Stay safe my friend and see you on the next video. May God bless you and your family.
one guy said soak with wd-40, another said separate the metal plates, I have done that before
Very happy Birthday to you 🥳I hope that you keep on giving us such entertaining videos and teaching us a lot of what you know. I look forward for the spring to come so that I can watch you working on your boat engines. Great video and have a wonderful day. From Durango, Mexico.
thank you,
I thank you for information on the cutting disk great product and a great price
you are welcome, they are a good product, and work great
Happy birthday day Allen may you have many more and you will getting that beautiful copper out I have faith in you thanks for sharing this enjoyable video with us six stars brother

thank you
You're welcome
Happy Birthday! and Happy Scrapping! Enjoyed the video! Take Care 🙂
Thank you
Nice breakdown of that motor. Good amount of copper
yeah, thank you, I need to try to pull the rest from the stator today
Hope all is going well and no damage from the earthquake that hit Oklahoma. And great video #happyscrapping
no damage here, I did not even feel it, slept right through it,
I was wondering yeah that be me when I scrap a motor , I haven't shown a motor on my channel yet , you got a nice big'n there Allen great score !
yes, that one is good sized, I have a bigger one coming soon, some guys say to pour oil into the slots to loosen the wire up. may have to give that a try on the next one
Happy birthday old timer i enjoyed video looking forward to more 🎉
Thanks so much! 😊
very nice big motor there Okie Scrapper... well done Cheers...
I think that was the hardest one I have ever done
happy Birthday Allen
Thank you
Happy birthday dude!
Do those motors have brushes in them? Ive seen in some other videos where industrial motor brushes yielded some good silver.
no brushes in this one, not sure about any silver in brushes, they are made from Powdered carbon and graphite.
Another interesting fact on WD-40, before using starter fluid on an engine that won't crank, use WD-40. It's worked for me b4. Do us a short video on the bar-b-qing that stubborn copper for the people who don't know what you're talking about. And Happy Birthday, young man
I have an outboard that was or seamed locked up, sprayed wd-40 in both cylinders, got a breaker bar and the thing broke loose very easy, now I need to fix the recoil rope spring and then it will be ready for the test tank
There are threaded holes on that belt sheave that you use with the bolts to loosen the pulley from that tapered hub. Simply screw the bolt into those holes and it removes the pulley.
Happy birthday day Allen
Thank you
Happy Birthday, Allan!! 👍🥳🍻
Thank you Roger
Yes, like that other guy said I pour oil into the cut and and let’s set and a half hour I pour more oil and then the next day I removed Power slides out really easy
I have another big motor coming up soon, I may have to try that and see how it works
Happy birthday!!
thank you
HBD youngster 😅
Happy Bday buddy,don5 let that thing whoop ya,cut the other side off and spray with PB blaster then use a punch that fits hole perfect,be nice if you could fixture it to a table sitting on a larger ring,if you could get it under a press,I’m sure you will figure someth8ng😅
thank you, I hope to get it finished today, cooked it on the grill for a few hours the other day
Witam witam i pozdrawiam serdecznie z Polski 🇵🇱👍👍👍
Good job 👍👍👍
thank you, hope all is well in Poland.
That's a good start to getting the Copper out and hit the copper on the side back and forth.and your air compressor is not powerful enough.
the air compressor can go higher, but most air tools run on 90 to 100 psi. so I have the air regulated at 100 psi.
Good morning my friend. Love all of your videos very much. What is the weather like today? It is in the 40s in Greenville SC now
morning, a little late getting around to the comments, they are saying 65 today,
Happy Birthday! Did you do a price comparison of the whole motor vs copper and short iron separate? Also how many disc/blades/misc cost involved?
Thank you, No I did not to a price comparison, and I used less then one disk. and they cost 54 cents each.
Don't leave us guessing.
Make a part 2 video out of it so we can see the end result please.
I will try to remember how much copper came out of the stator
Happy birthday
thank you
happy birthday
thank you
Happy Birthday. They sure don't make them like that any more.
well, they do, but most are in industrial, Hobby lobby warehouse uses a lot of them on the conveyor systems. most of them get rebuilt when they go bad
👍👍👍
I have never heard any metal called short iron. Light iron or shred, same thing, what is short iron
short iron is prepared steel, heavy steel. cut to 3 foot in length, some yards in other states want it under 4 foot I have heard.
Fire
yep, I put it on my bbq grill, not the one I cook on
Forget the air drve them out with the punch like you started dont need to soak crap
May be 15 lbs in it I like the ones with over 100 lbs in them
yeah, no drought, 35 lbs. of copper in a motor would be nice. I have a small pile of motors that I need to get done one of these days
Split the plates
yes, thank you, I have done that before, but forgot about it
Get ahold of me ill tell you how to drop the copper out under a hour im a little older than you been scrapping 55 years
promo sm
If u ever want to get ahead on your staters you are going to learn how to cut them in half & pull the copper out from both ends.
I don't think the angle grinder would be the tool for that. but I have a new tool that just might do the job, I need to test it out soon
10 pounds
I don't remember think it had 7 or 8 pounds
Happy Birthday
thank you
