The Alamo is only famous because of the battle of March 6, 1836. Not because of the Indians that may or may not have lived there. Otherwise if they had destroyed it, as they were instructed and left there would have been no battle and no one would care.

Even when the texians were crushed there, to Texans, they are still the greatest. Hell bent in making heroes out of renegades! After 188 years, they still can’t forget. Fanatics. Some of them act like they are really macho tough guys and the women too.

A battlefield that makes commercial businesses just as important. What a shame. What if streets , buildings were built right on top of Gettyburgh. San Antonians , Texans have no vision to restore and improve it. Near everything not related to the battle could be relocated not far , but they say NOOOO. stupid.

How come you won't let the people know that the Battle of the Alamo was fought because Santa Anna was against slavery

Exactly , people who are praising the defense of the Alamo the same way they defend the honor of the boys in Pickett's charge . False glory over the sin of slavery !

The Battle was fought at the Alamo because Santa Ana had taken over the Mexican Government got rid of the Mexican Constitution and was setting himself up at dictator to enslave the whole population or murder his subjects that would not submit to his rule. Oh and because Travis was to green a commander and should had fallen back to Goliad.

    WHY TEXAS WAS BALKANIZED
1- The only truth for which the Mexican 🇲🇽 province of Texas was Balkanized, was because the Mexican central government of General Santa Anna declared slavery illegal in Texas.
2- Mexico prohibited the use of slavery in Texas as a form of work, Santa Anna abhorred slavery and the father of the nation of Mexico, Miguel Hidalgo, had abolished it in 1810.
3- The rebels US-Americans, many of them illegal immigrants in Mexican territory, did not like it at all, the Mexican law that eliminated slavery in Texas, quickly rose up in arms and declared Texas independent, US-American immigrants wanted to keep slavery as a legal form of work.
4- General Santa Anna, president of Mexico, did not allow the secession of Texas, since it was a Mexican 🇲🇽 province recognized in the constitution, it had no right to separate.
5- Santa Anna's army was an army poor in resources and weapons, it was not like Hollywood that shows it as a powerful army with the latest technology weapons, in reality the rebels used new weapons financed by Washington and Mexico fought with weapons of the time of its independence.
6- The Mexican soldiers were in his territory, the invaders were the US-Americans.
7- Thus began an armed conflict between both parties that led to the secession of Texas.
8- The Mexicans are the villains of a story badly told by the official historiography.
9- After the annexation of Texas to the United States, Texas was created as a slave state.
10- Before the civil war, many African-American slaves from Texas crossed the Rio Grande to be safe in Mexico from their captors, Mexico protected them with its anti-slavery laws.
That's the truth, why don't they tell it?

*Correction: the settlers were allowed slaves, BUT would have to free them at some point until ALL slavery was stopped. So, the settlers KNEW this would happen at some point, Land and King Cotton was the cause of this. Sadly the diaries and journals of the Mexican officers (the survivors) were left out. S Dickenson and Joe (the slave) were in the chapel, so they both weren't witnesses to the battle.*
