Seen a lot of chihua owners to end up just holding puppy on their laps and not letting them walk much... they teach their puppy insecurity, they must rely on their human all the time and may become unsure to face the world and other dogs on their own but think owners are not doing this on purpose and are just scared if something happen to their sweetie pie because of the small size. Owners should let their chihuas walk as much as possible so they can explore the world and become confident and happy pup
She is super highper My last one liked to sleep a lot this one is super playful and her ears don’t stay up all the time she will put them up sometimes but they both flop over most of the time so I’m worried that they won’t stay up and also she doesn’t have the hole in the top of her skull 💀 eaither

It’s so, so sad. But with a lot of time and patience, she can improve. I’m working on a training series right now that I think could be very helpful to your sweetie pie. I’ve published only the first two videos and I recommend you start with these exercises. Do the exercise from the first video several times a day for 5-10 minutes at time. If you have another person in the house with you, have that person work on the same exercise until she masters it. Congratulations on getting your sweetie pies. A puppy requires 18-20 hours of sleep per day so she needs to be in her crate for at least that much time per day with 4-6 hours of awake time. Some of that time she should be in her crate eating and getting used to the potty pad, and some of that awake time she needs to be out of her crate interacting with her humans. Only take her out of the crate while you're right there watching to make sure she doesn't have an accident. I recommend four 1 hour play/cuddle sessions per day to start and you can expand from there. If yours isn’t used to being held, I recommend to start with daily couch time for at least an hour. If she’s not sure about sitting in your lap or being petted, you can encourage her by including some finely chopped chicken. Make sure she only gets a tiny bite of the chicken while you’re holding or petting her. Then she’ll learn to associate your touches with yummy treats. i have been watching a lot of your videos today and I wish I could leave out my chi's kibble, but I cant as my daughter has a king Charles and it gobbles everything up!! even the cat's food if left on the floor, so you see if do leave kibble out I would not know if he ate it, so every time i feed him I have to stay with him, it is a bit awkward
Oh yeah, I would recommend having the food somewhere only the chihuahua can reach, or maybe a caged room for it. If you have a small cat door leading into a garage that would work too. Good luck

Chihuahuas shake because they are small. They have a much higher surface area to volume compared to a regular dog. Therefore, more heat body heat than normal escapes through their skin. Chihuahuas actually have a relatively low metabolism when compared to most small animals their size. So when a Chihuahua is shaking they are desperately trying to replace their lost body heat. Essentially they are freezing...all the time. I’m sorry to say this but the shaking in Chihuahua in not what I would call “natural”. More of a byproduct of years of genetic manipulation.
If he’s shaking more than normal, and especially with the crying and fear, then it sounds like he’s having a medical emergency. It could be low blood sugar or he’s experiencing some sort of pain. If it’s low blood sugar, he needs calories right away. Nutri-Cal is good for treating low blood sugar. If you don’t have Nutri-Cal, Karo syrup or honey work as well. Give him a small amount and see if he comes out of his episode. He might need to see a doctor. I wish him the very best 🙏🏻
