Mayurbhanj itself was a "Gadajata State" province before the independence. Shriram Chandra Bhanjadeo was one of the architects of Odisha from the Northern Odisha along with Maharaja Krushnachandra Ganapati of the Southern Odisha. Baripada, my ancestors' place. My great grandfather Late Surendranarh Mukherjee was a judge under most probably great Sriramchandra Bhanjdeo. My late dad used to remember him and learned Sucharu Devi. Dad felt proud that they were under a proper raja, not a fake one like a zaminder. Dad visited Baripada and saw where they used to live before he passed away. Thanks Epic, you brought tears in my eyes😢😢.

Being Mayurbhanjia itself is a pride for us..beautiful heritage... Every village, every household have their their story to tell.. Talk about Diversity.. Its not only santal ( adivasi) , Bathudi Samuday, and many others co-exist with love and affection to each other... They Said Odisha is the Best kept Secret of India.. I would also say its Mayurbhanj which resembles the same.. From childhood i am outside odisha but i never ever forgotten my roots... Hello, I live on the other side of the bengal odisha border. Baripada is a beautiful town. The town speaks volumes about the greatness of the monarchs. People revere their former kings.
The song at around 21 minutes goes like "bhati songe pui khada, tar songe geri duta". It is very similar to manbhum bangla. People of Princely states of Manbhum, singhbhum, mayurbhanj , kharswan etc had a strong connection in the past.
His highness, Sri Rama Chandra Bhanja Deo was a visionary and an author of development in all true senses, the sketches are exquisite. Maharaja displayed visionary leadership, advancing architecture and infrastructure in his princely state. His transformative initiatives left an enduring impact, elevating Mayurbhanj's development under his highness's reign.
Thanks to these two princesses that they believe in their root even after being brought up and raised in foreign.This duo really deserves the respect ❤
govt should also try to preserve the culture and tradition of bhanj dynasty and re develop the whole district into tourist hub....

Our Bhanja Rajas and raj vansh were always loved and respected by their praja. It really feels good seeing our dishes and culture recognised and accepted by the world.

It's not enduri pitha it's a version of manda pitha. Enduri pitha also happen like this but that dough is different . enduri pitha 's outer layer is made frm idli batter instead of rice dough. Idli pitha like sweet coconut stuffed idli steamed in turmeric leaves ❤

Such a fun when she says we can not say its Odia. Not sure which of this not available outside Mayurbhanj. yes there are twist and turn but essence is same . Does not matter if we eat Mutton with rice and Mudhi. But I see whichever place we visit in Odisha all dishes are similar and interconnected .

Coming from Baripada, it felt so so good to see Mayurbhanj in the limelight ❤. Wanted to see the history of Ambika Mandir along with the Jagannath mandir, but it's beautiful in itself.
Got to know so much about my district, but I think 28 minutes are not enough to describe the culture & prosperousness of mayurbhanj.

This is really an interesting narration of Mayurbhanj and its history. Just one mistake was found by me as an native to Baripada . In ramrochak tarkari we don't use tomato only brinjal and alu were used and one more thing we don't prefer eating dala khechudi with other non vegetarian items because its very secrad dish and its for prasad .

A pity how non of them spoke a single piece of ODIA through out this nearly half an hour long video. Also kept addressing the locals as THEM and not as OUR PEOPLE. Once upon a time their family ruled this place, The philosopher king Maharaja Sri Rama Chandra Bhanja Deo took part in redefining odia literature, protected the integrity of Mayurbhanj till the end and now his descendants can't even talk in their native tongue.
Such a pity for this great legacy and heritage.
At 26:27 She asserted that the authenticity of Mayurbhanja cannot be solely labeled as Odisha's, as its roots predate the formation of Odisha💔
If they speak Odia in such platforms then how will it reach to the greater nonOdia audience through this TH-cam channel. This is fine. Atleast they are promoting Odisha.
Please understand we need to promote our Odia tradition, our culture ,our handloom and many more things to this entire world. We are culturally so rich people and we should show that to the outside Odisha. I feel sad when any Odia dish or puja is being pronounced wrongly. That's actually pathetic. For example, instead of khaja our Odias would pronounce it as 'khaajaa' when they talk to any nonOdia person. Pakodi would become pakoda. Why to be like others. Atleast speak clear Odia nothing else if you want to uplift Odisha.
Odisha re hin aau Odia kahu nahanti ebe loka.
Knowing 10 language is a good thing but leaving your own is just hopeless.

Sadly, despite having a mother tongue with a history spanning about 2000 years and the distinction of being a classical language in India, we find ourselves losing our cultural glory. The irony deepens when considering the relocation of Odisha in 1936; one wonders about the purpose if it meant sacrificing our language heritage.
Unfortunately, because of such individuals, Hindi is slowly replacing our language.
And it's our core responsibility and pride to protect of language and culture from so-called outsiders.
Imagine odisha without odia and odia culture,it's such a disheartening things to imagine,when we would be fighting for our identity.
