I own a music store. In 1989 a Zildjian 22" Ride cymbal would sell for about $129.00. In 2020 that cymbal sold for about $229.00. Today that cymbal sells for $329.00. So it took 31 years to increase in price a $100 dollars and increase by another $100 in the last 3 1/2 years. That's inflation.

This is why the voting age should be 25-30 years of age. Your brain doesnt even finish developing until your 25. The last 5-7 years of brain development is where the prefrontal cortex is developed and matured, it controlls how we process moment-to-moment input from our surroundings, compare that input to past experiences, and then react to them ad so much more.
"Stress signalling pathways that impair prefrontal cortex structure and function"
      Nat Rev Neurosci - Author
The prefrontal cortex (PFC) intelligently regulates our thoughts, actions and emotions through extensive connections with other brain regions (BOX 1). It creates a “mental sketch pad” (to use a phrase coined by Alan Baddeley) through networks of neurons that can maintain information in the absence of environmental stimulation1. Neuroscientists such as Patricia Goldman-Rakic referred to this process as working memory: the ability to keep in mind an event that has just occurred, or bring to mind information from long-term storage, and use this representational knowledge to regulate behaviour, thought and emotion2. The PFC is able to protect these fragile representations from the interference of external or internal distractions, and is key for inhibiting inappropriate actions and promoting task-relevant operations (so-called ‘top-down’ regulation)3-6. PFC operations allow the flexible regulation of behaviour to enable us to properly respond to a changing environment - for example, the ability to shift attentional set to new dimensions and to alter decision making as reward contingencies shift7,8. The PFC also monitors errors, giving us the insight that we are incorrect and need to shift strategies9. All of these abilities depend on proper PFC neuronal network connections, which are highly sensitive to their neurochemical environment.
This is why these kids are so easily manipulated and pressured into believing the craziest things without question and follow along like sheep to the slaughter house.

Charlie: "....debt crisis, the likes [of which] we have never seen." Wow, you got that right! Before now, the only time in American history that the national debt to GDP ratio has been over 100% was in 1945 when it was 105% due to the existential necessity of accumulated deficit spending during the war years. Today it is approaching 125%! The crisis Charlie referred to is looming. In the post-war years, we fairly quickly paid down the national debt through national economic growth. Partially, the post-war economic boom was the result of the fact that our international economic competitors, Japan, Germany, Britain, and Europe had their industrial infrastructure wrecked in the war. If you wanted cars, TVs or refrigerators, there was only one option, American-made. Today is vastly different. The majority of consumer goods are now manufactured in China due to low wage rates there. We're spending more now on interest payments on the national debt than on national defense. Entitlement programs like Social Security and Medicare will go broke in less than a decade. Members of Congress, with the exception of Senator Rand Paul, who hold the purse strings, lack the political courage to confront the looming crisis. So, Washington fiddles, while the fire is starting to burn. Congress knows that there are only four ways to tackle the debt crisis, raise taxes dramatically, cut overspending on Federal programs, renege on Federal Treasury debt instruments like bonds and notes, or print money and inflate our way out of it with increaingly more wortless dollars. All four mean political suicide for Congress and the President. Raising taxes will shut down national economic growth and create a seriously deep recession, reducing tax revenues, and making the crisis worse. Cutting spending is political death. Reneging on the debt would trigger a worldwide fiscal and economic crisis, possibly a global depression. Inflating by printing wortless dollars will destroy our currency and cause another domestic Great Depression. There's no easy way out. The time for paying the piper is coming.

No down payment isn't really a selling point. Yes, you can qualify for a house easier, but you're still on the hook for what would have been a down payment. Its just financed now, which is a way worse deal.

If it wasn't for our ranch/farm we couldn't help others in our area who are suffering for food. Our food pantry at the church was robbed. I used to raise hogs and am considering doing it again for sausage and bacon. Not worried about the grain we can grow our own, but I have never seen it so bad right now. Seniors and low-income people do not stand a chance. If things don't change we are all headed to the poor house.

I don't think people understand that when you say 2022 inflation was at 9% and now its only 2.9%, so therefore its amazing right now is absolutely wrong. Inflation compounds. That means that over the Biden term inflation if probably closer to an average of 20%.
