@@tivo3720 All Kashmiri Hindus are Pandits. There is no caste system in Kashmiri Hinduism and all Kashmiri Hindus are considered as Brahmin. This may have been due to Buddhist influences, which led to reform. They practice a different sect of Hinduism called Kashmir Shaivism.

As a Kashmiri pandit who was born in 1990 at the time of this genocide I just want to thank you for bringing light to this issue. People gloss over these atrocities because it conflicts with their personal identity but we are nothing without learning from history so I appreciate what you've done with this video. My parents and community lost everything, especially our identity with what is now a worldwide diaspora of Kashmiri pandits. I can only hope that those who contributed and benefitted from this genocide are held accountable and given the highest form of punishment.
I belong to Shankaracharya's Advaita order in South India and we follow Sringeri Sharada Peetham set up by Adi Shankaracharya. There is a devotional hymn called Sharada Stotram which says "namaste sharade devi kashmirapura vasini...". The original Sharada Peetham was in Kashmira(now in PoK) and was a great educational institution with Shankara and even Ramanuja visiting it. It was also secular towards Buddhist scholars similar to how Nalanda was secular to Hindu scholars being a Budhhist organization and the Tibetan script was invented by Thonmi Sambhota after studying the Sharada script of Kashmir in the Peetham.
During the early medieval(Hindu) era Kashmir was a hub of knowledge and enlightenment even in deep South India. There were many people famous throughout India like Abhinavagupta, Kalhana and Bilhana(who settled in the court of South Indian Kalyani Chalukyas for patronage)

They got information that the husbands name had come up on a hit list in the local mosque. They left everything including their just newly constructed house. They could never go back again. Half my family is Kashmiri Hindu (other half is telugu). The kashmiri side left a bit before the exodus (thank goodness) but we still don't feel safe going back, especially myself as a woman too. Being a Sindhi Hindu, i too can realate with what kashmiri Hindus felt like to leave their homeland. But atleast the Kashmiris & Punjabis still got their land in hind. But us Sindhi Hindus lost our land of our ancestors Sindh forever from Hind. But it's sad that unlike others, the sufferings of Hindus of Sindh during partition is so less discussed in media. The doctors turning people away is horrible. I have had some real problems getting my healthcare in the US for treating an electrical burn. The dermatologist told me it was not pain I was experiencing but white rage I guess because I was too white. I always wondered why she said that and why another hospital staffer apologized to me and got me a different doctor to treat me so it doesn't get worse. I am not sure where she was from but she sounded like from the middle east. I did not talk much about it as I thought it was absurd she said that. But these last few years I am learning it has happened before like in this video. A doctor from Europe saved what was left of my life.

Thank you for this video. Members of my family were victims to this conflict, during independence and in recent past. It is one of the most darkest chapters (from many) of history which we are not taught in our school textbooks due to political reasons. And as a result people whose family were not affected by it, know very little. The Nagaland insurgency is another example of a history that we are not taught about, in fact every Indian state of India has some history about which the rest of India is completely clueless about.

As a Kashmiri pandit who was born in 1990 at the time of this genocide I just want to thank you for bringing light to this issue. People gloss over these atrocities because it conflicts with their personal identity but we are nothing without learning from history so I appreciate what you've done with this video.

I belong to Shankaracharya's Advaita order in South India and we follow Sringeri Sharada Peetham set up by Adi Shankaracharya.
There is a devotional hymn called Sharada Stotram which says "namaste sharade devi kashmirapura vasini...".
The original Sharada Peetham was in Kashmira(now in PoK) and was a great educational institution with Shankara and even Ramanuja visiting it. It was also secular towards Buddhist scholars similar to how Nalanda was secular to Hindu scholars being a Budhhist organization and the Tibetan script was invented by Thonmi Sambhota after studying the Sharada script of Kashmir in the Peetham.
During the early medieval(Hindu) era Kashmir was a hub of knowledge and enlightenment even in deep South India. There were many people famous throughout India like Abhinavagupta, Kalhana and Bilhana(who settled in the court of South Indian Kalyani Chalukyas for patronage)

Half my family is Kashmiri Hindu (other half is telugu). The kashmiri side left a bit before the exodus (thank goodness) but we still don't feel safe going back, especially myself as a woman too. Being a Sindhi Hindu, i too can realate with what kashmiri Hindus felt like to leave their homeland. But atleast the Kashmiris & Punjabis still got their land in hind. But us Sindhi Hindus lost our land of our ancestors Sindh forever from Hind. But it's sad that unlike others, the sufferings of Hindus of Sindh during partition is so less discussed in media. Kashmir was always an Ancient Hindu Homeland,hosting most prominent university of Sharda Peeth(which was a sacred seat of Goddess of knowledge -Sharda as well),the region developed most sophisticated religious, philosophical & mystical ideas under the name of Kashmiri Shaivism, Trika & kaula tantra traditions.
All of this changed when muslims from north of valley took refuge from Hindu king during 13th century & within 50yrs kashmiri hindus saw first of their mass scale genocide which was followed by 6 other exodus' & mass killings all by muslim rulers under various dynasties. Each time after such events Kashmir fall more to the muslim absolutism of authority & 1990s event was actually the last nail ok the coffin.
Now even when Kashmir partly is under Indian secualar govt, Hindus need special protection to visit their pilgrimages & ancestral places in Kashmir valley.
Update : 3 days terrorist attack took place in Jammu region(Hindu majority)right south to Kashmir which killed 10 hindu pilgrims & 5 soldiers of Indian Army.
It was worse than Holocaust & Palestine scenarios combined together.

The doctors turning people away is horrible. I have had some real problems getting my healthcare in the US for treating an electrical burn. The dermatologist told me it was not pain I was experiencing but white rage I guess because I was too white. I always wondered why she said that and why another hospital staffer apologized to me and got me a different doctor to treat me so it doesn't get worse. I am not sure where she was from but she sounded like from the middle east. I did not talk much about it as I thought it was absurd she said that. But these last few years I am learning it has happened before like in this video. A doctor from Europe saved what was left of my life.

And as a result people whose family were not affected by it, know very little.
