- Could not have asked for a better way to spend my 80th marathon.
Just a week after doing a 2:22 at Manchester, I ran a sub 2:45 pack in an attempt to help as many runners as possible!
I hope this gives you a good feel for the route and what you experience as a runner out there.
Congrats to all who raced! Especially my 125 Best Athletics teammates!
Thanks to the over 750,000 supporters! You really do make this event!

Onwards and Upwards,
Nick
Nick I’m the dude in the bright yellow hat and white vest. You got me a 7 minute PB (2.42 from 2.49) - thanks for amazing pacing and vibes!!!
Congrats mate!
It’s an absolute bloody pleasure and congrats mate 💥 🍕
Boomshakalaka! Congratulations on your PB
Bossed it 🙌🔥
Congratulations!!
Insane amount of people running at this pace in a Marathon. Hats off to them.
Mental isn’t it. All of them would probs be classed as ‘elite’ runners too
@ocooperr no where near being classed as elite. Need to be running below 2:10 to even be considered as elite
@@legitlee8359 Not quite, sub 2.20 would be elite for sure.
@@legitlee8359Elite or 'Championship' entry is sub 2.40 at the London Marathon. 2.10 would make you world class, probably top 5 in Britain, sponsored, everything.
@@legitlee8359 Lol, Paula Radcliffe broke records by a large margin, and without super shoes, and you say she is not elite. Anything sub 2:30 is elite. If you are going sub 2:10 you are in the elite of the elite of the elite. The superhumans. The Kipchoges and Kiptums. A British guy ran 2:06 and got the 2nd fastest ever British time. So 2:10 seems a harsh line.
Ran with you for a big chunk. (Number 4202 - @20:00). Couldn't quite hang on for 2:45, but crossed the line in 2:45:54 which was a 9 minute PB in my second marathon. Your positivity made a huge difference and enjoyed riding your coattails when it came to you hyping up the crowd!
👏👏👏👏
Epic to hear and well done on the 9 minute PeeeBeee! Huge!!
Nick Bester & Ben Parkes in the same vid….Two absolute legends….well done to you both!
And John Mayock who just happened to run in 3 Olympic Games.
Was great to see him on route after such a quick turnaround post Boston (6 days). With London marathon expo between
"I'm just enjoying every moment and embracing it, because I know these days won't last forever."
This quote summed up why I'm so motivated to do a marathon.
Nick is so positive....
Great attidude ...😊😊😊
Thanks champ! This is the easy part of my day, being a parent of a 1 and 3 year old!! 🤣🫶🏻
bro running a 2:45 mara while chatting to the cam and having a blast. what a time!
nice recovery run at 120 heart rate for him :D
2:17 that sound of all the feets hitting the ground. Runners dream sound :)
The crowd here was insane! So many people out for the good vibes and support!
You went from pacing one Anya to an entire 02:45 cohort haha so happy for all those who could achieve their dreams. Still a couple more years until I dare tackle the marathon distance, but I will give it my all. In the meantime, gotta build that base and work on my 10k and half marathon times
Nick your enthusiasm for running is motivating. You are a tough hard working athlete - but you also know when to relax and enjoy yourself. Respect 👊
Oh man, I can’t imagine having that much energy during a marathon at any pace, let alone 2:45 pace!! Awesome video!!
Your enthusiasm and love of running throughout the entire race is infectious. Most people celebrate at the end but you treat the whole race like a victory lap, amazing!
Nick, I’m very emotional watching this. Just superb mate. Thanks ❤
Nick - thank you for such a great video! I ran my first Marathon yesterday in 3:39 (quicker than expected) and this brought back so many memories from the course on the day.
i wish i have a runner like nick beside me 😭😭😭 i love the positive attitude, the spirit is so overwhelming, its like having a celebration ❤🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
It's so much easier to watch this than to do the real thing. Still get all of the atmosphere. Thanks for posting
Pleasure and I’m glad to for to feel how we felt yesterday!! 🙌🏻
Thanks Nick. It was great to be a part of your train for some time. A good few minutes of footage of the back of me around Cutty Sark. Blue and red Stainland Lions vest.
Showed off your bald patch beautifully ;)
@@bigred808080 it’s a solar panel
My man you did not exaggerate on this one: running London was beyond amazing! Thanks so much for all the positivity, love watching all the videos! Sometime soon Ill board the 2:45 train lets goooooooo
Running a 100 mile ultra marathon with my acdemy starting on the 30th and your videos are so motivational !!
That’s why I make them! Gooood luck! 🫶🏻🔥
@@justalilbester Thank you 🫶keep up the good work !!
Unreal at the huge pack running at that speed. And that young runner from last year left you hanging 😂. Great video! You always have the best London race blog.
🤣🤣 well spotted I also noticed that. But she was in the zone. Good to see 😎
1000 times LET’s GOO und he loves them all
Amazing! I ran 3:50:58 - Thanks for this video, it's great to see the atmosphere all over again! It was one of the best days ever for me
Did my first marathon in Brighton a few weeks ago and I've got the bug now. Fingers crossed I can get a place in London next year, this atmosphere looks immense!
That was like a 42.2km victory lap Nick 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 love it, getting the crowd going wild. I'm from the UK originally, one of these years I'm going to get to race London and hopefully the GNR.... bucket list items.
Great video... Well done..👍👍👍
Good to see Ben Parkes at 18 mins. Getting it done...👍👍👍
That clip was insane the 360 was way too clean
Its just an absolute delight to see how enthusiastic Nick is about running. This video was so enjoyable to watch 👍
That feller who passed you early in the race with the 3:49 mile pb was John Mayock, who competed at 3 Olympic Games.
With that time I’m not surprised. Absolute beast 🔥 great to see him on route!
So much energy. This is how to enjoy a Race. I love it!
What a fantastic support. Only in London 🎉
Inspirational Nick..true legend.
Amazing! London marathon atmosphere is something else! When you run a 2:45 marathon does it feel tough at all or just a steady pace? Wondering how much 25 mins makes a difference from your PB to this
It feels steady at most. I’m very surprised as to how much of a massive difference 20 minutes makes for me.
Could watch this on repeat! Absolute vibes all day long 🎉
It was great to meet you at the end Nick. I just got under 2.45. Best wishes.
Awesome work ethic and passion for the sport. Love the video, great way to show the world the heart of London Marathon and racing!. Incredible day, I picked up some tips from you and ran a PB 3.24.48(first marathon) ! Lets go ! 🤙
I hope they can get a taste for what this race is about 💙 epic work on the PB
@@justalilbester Definitely - awesome video! Thanks for tips bro 😘
Nick i was the guy in blue supporting at the 42km mark! Was so sick to see you crushing it 🎉
thats sweet you actually wore the first person view camera, great job nick, I love getting the crowd going too.. pumps you up wayyy more.
Just ran my first marathon in Brazil. It was the worst experience of my life, so tough and mentally challenging and I told myself I never want to run a marathon again. But this video makes me wanna do it. Thanks mate.
Amazing Nick what an athlete you are and all round nice guy. Lets Gooooooooooooooo
Well done Nick! Awesome running mate, loved how you got the crowd and other runners involved ❤. Also loved it when you grabbed the South African flag ❤🎉. Congrats from Durban South Africa, I really enjoy watching your running journey 🤩
Awesome. Well done 👏👏
Nick, you ran me down on the embankment - comrades cap and yellow shirt (30min in) shame I couldn’t hang on Well done in the inspirational video 💪👍
This shows how much you can enjoy a run if you slow the pace down!
Thank you for making these videos! What an incredible day! 🎉🤩👏
What a nice Marathon, thanks for sharing this race with us 🎉
Ran my first marathon at London marathon in 4:14! Was such an experience. Fully got the bug now so next goal is sub 4hr and so on! Will I ever make it to 2:45? Maybe not but your videos inspire me!
This video is the best race video I have ever seen. You are amazing what you are doing. You look in fantastic shape also. Wish I knew you were pacing for 2.45. I had you in my sights up to 18 miles!
This is a new sound from marathon race with all those kangoroo shoes 👍🏻😊 well done all the runners! All u are heroes❤ thanks for sharing this video mate!
Fantastic vlog Nick of an amaxing day! The atmosphere is insane and Tower Bridge gives me goosebumps just thinking about it. I was out there for my 9th London, i absolutely love it!!

I finished in 5:18! Seeing these guys is just madness 😂😂 and I’ve been running for years!!
Looked like your lap of honour! Great work.
I felt like I was the one running. Amazing. I’m so inspired
Glad I could take you along 🇬🇧 🎉 what a race it is.
What a great person you’d be to have next to u whilst running. Good stuff mate 👍🏼
Great video Nick - felt surreal re-living the race, the day after whilst nursing my battered legs on the sofa. Hope to join one of your pace groups some time. Great work 👏
This is race weekend for me. My first half marathon. Shooting for anything under two hours love your videos and the community I’ll let u know how I do
I can just about hold this pace over 5k LOL. Beast mode 🎉
Congrats!!! Runnits to enjoy either
Love your videos, London Especially!! 🎉 👊🏻🤙🏻 😎💯
I was planning on running with your pack but couldnt find you at the start wave. 😢 ended up coming in 2.46.23. I reckon you could have pulled me along !! Always next year 🤞🤞
Hello from Brazil. Congratulations for your race and for this video. Amazing! One question: why do some runners use bib numbers in their backs?
Glad you loved it! Those runners are championship entry runners 🙌🏻
Running in that group around you must have been so much fun!
That's crazy - I could've sworn you shouted me out at 600 metres to go (5hr runner) - I must've imagined it!!!
You certainly love that tower bridge lol. Looks awesome
Man you give off so much energy Nick! Love it! Running and enjoying yourself 👌🏼
Best running HYPE man !
Amazing Nick. Book shakalaka🎉🎉
Looks incredible!! Saw you at mile 9 and gave you a big LETS GO!! Great video Nick 💙
Amazing video. Loved it 🥳 What a vibe ✌🏽
Hi nick, does hill training count as a speed session
Yes it counts as a tough workout and session for sure 🔥
I like your run i trying to your running I stay❤ boom chakalacha 🇮🇳
Brilliant video
Saw your hat about mile 11 & tried to catch up but aiming for 2.50 & didn't want to blow up, so watched you disappear. Made it on the video though! Love your work mate 👍💪
Top work, Nick 🤟
Nike alpha fly 3 everywhere!
What camera are you wearing on your hat? I'm thinking of recording a few races before I get older and slower!
Well done for making a 2:45 marathon look easy
Insta 360 Go 3 camera 🙌🏻
Not sure how many in the crowd but my wife’s in your highlight video this and last year! 😮
How do people get places in the first place? Desperate to run on 2025 but I’d target sub 4 hourd
All aboard the hype train!
Definitely me not shouting “Go on Nick” 4 times at 26:36 😂
Haha legend!! 🙌🏻
How does everyone running this pace fuel with gels, electrolytes etc? Noticed no one seems to have running vests
A lot of marathon specific shorts have elasticated pockets.
Brilliant video 🎉
Great footage again Nick. How did Jess do?
Thanks mate. I think she went around 3:17 or so
Insane running, it’s a wonder that you can’t run it in about an hour when you’re racing with the amount of energy that must go into getting the crowd going 😂 Was so hoping Anya would pop up on the other side when you saw the ladies pass 😅
26.2 subscribers! 😄 How apt for this video
Haha well spotted! 👏🏻 satisfying!
Such an awesome POV!
Amazing ❤❤❤❤❤❤
See you next year homie
I'll be "BoomShakalacking!" in 6 weeks!
The crowds in New York are great too, but London is best 💪 its just the best day of the year. 😊
Can’t wait to run New York and bring it to you later this year 🇺🇸 🎉 I’ve heard good things!!
@justalilbester It's amazing, but watch out for those hills! 🙁
Anyone fancy a drinking game?
Drink everytime Nick says :" you've got this"
Well done Sir! You are a vibe :)
🤣🤣 I thought about doing that count when I was editing it. But that would have taken me too long :) thanks!
So many alphafly3s😂😂
2:45 Pack Runners look soooooo easy than my 2:30 half
Love the videos mate follow you on strava as well always inspires me to improve 🤙
How tf are all these people running 2:45 so easily.
Strength in depth these days is insane. Glad I could showcase it in this video
Did i see a little boy at 5:18?
You got some of your footage mixed up. The underpass @6:30 comes just after 5 miles, but the footage before it is at 10k.
Yeah I realised when I watched it back. Always tricky when trying to match up the Go Pro footage & head cam. Well spotted 👀
@@justalilbester I really enjoyed it, though. I was supposed to be running but got injured two weeks ago. Your video showed me what I missed.
So that's how you run a 2:45 while partying in the streets of London :)
Damn, so much energy 🐇 👍
