Great study! What struck me is your comment about how the book of Mark is more about Jesus the servant. I want to become a better servant so I would like to revisit the book. I have to admit that I have a wavering heart when it comes to spreading the gospel in person. I am praying that fear does not hinder me from planting seeds. Sometimes, I worry how a person may react to my message, and that shouldn't be so. Then, there are times when I am comfortable talking to someone, like two days ago. I spoke with two women and gave them my testimony. I desire to be constant as a servant of Christ. I do not want to drown out the Holy Spirit when He tells me to go to a person and spread the good news. I am confident that I will be delivered because He is faithful. Thank you and you are much appreciated!
Well thank you for your kind words, I truly appreciated them. Yes, Mark teaches us more about the human actions of Jesus serving others than Him wanting to be served. In John 13:8, Jesus tells Peter: "If I do not wash you, you have no part in Me." As we grow in our walk with Jesus the enemy does all that he can to try and diminish our service to Jesus by telling us lies, instilling fear into us, and using worldly things to distract us from sharing the gospel; and trust me, I have been through it but with the strength of God's Word I have been able to overcome the "wavering heart" you mention, and you will too. Don't let that discourage you in any way. Galatians 6:9 tells us, "And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart." Sometimes we expect too much of ourselves when wanting to share with someone else the gospel, but just remember, nowhere in the Bible does Jesus tell us that when sharing the gospel, we have to make a conversion of that person. All we are commanded to do is share the gospel and plant the seed and The Holy Spirit will do the rest of the work. Just the fact that you spoke with the two women and shared your testimony shows that God is working through you and that your desire to be more of a constant servant is a work in progress. Great job! We are all works in progress in being a servant of Christ and it is not until He calls each of home that we will be complete. The more you focus on Jesus, the less the world can drown out the Holy Spirit. God will always give you the strength to do His work. Thanks for your sharing your story and thoughts. Have a blessed day.
@Mission-yv4mt Brother, thank you so much! I'm emotional right now. You touched my heart with your words because I do overthink things too much. I was surprised when my sister noticed it, so I do need to have peace in knowing that God loves me for who I am. God bless you. I've been keeping you and your sister in my prayers. I am looking forward to next week.
