    Man, the tough thing about bulk candy you put in a quarter operated machine is that can't just raise the price by 10%. It's either $0.25 or $0.50.

      @@quikplay Interesting to see you have bill acceptors on gumball/candy machines (i'm from canada btw) Here in canada gumballs/candy cost between $1-$2 per spin on those machines, I haven't seen 25 cent prices in almost 20 years :D, however we have $1-2 coins which i guess made it a lot easier for me to increase prices by way well over 10% over the years, cool to see this stuff how it's a lot different to the machines i'm used to operating.

    Might I suggest 3d printing a change catching pan for the backside of your machine? That way you can just pull the tray out and dump it in the bag. It would save time and that time would add up.

    Great video. On the machines that have a small lip not allowing the quarters to slide over the edge. You could take a piece of wide masking tape and just tape it just on the inside on the edge of the lip down to the inside where the quarter sit. Then you wouldn't be able to see it from the outside when the door is closed but the quarters would easily slide up and over the masking tape and fall off the edge without getting caught on the lip. Anyways just a thought again great video.

      If you stuck a desiccant bag inside the chamber with some duct tape, it might help with that sort of thing a little. (And had a regular cleaning schedule, of course.)
      Replace duct tape with something more food safe if possible. And make sure to use food safe desiccant bags of course.

    Eli, I noticed the IceCream Factory has their name stenciled on the machine. Do you do that for all locations that house one of these big gumball machines? Do you have to share profits with them?
    This larger-than-life gum ball machine I'm sure it inspires a sense of wonder and awe in the children, like something you'd expect to see in a Willie Wonka movie. I want to tell you an interesting story about a certain candy vending machine at work. Now I work at a Kroger(Grocery Store) I started working for them in the spring of 2017. The first store I worked at had one that was a square 4-in-1 stand in the breakroom. Sometime in July the M&M that where in the machine ended up in a chocolate mush with bugs in it. I did get some from the machine several months prior. I only worked at that particular Kroger until Aug. 2017 when I moved to another Kroger. But while I was working at my first store I rarely saw anyone use or service that vending machine. So IDK if they did anything with it after I left.

    You guys should do a video on your second channel where you lable all your keys and show us the process, if you haven't already or haven't thought of that. • @shanejohnson4773

      There is a sticker on the side or top of the machine that says it is for charity. They come in and tell the business owner that it's for charity and then never tell anyone or make any indication that the donation money is a separate compartment on the machine. I love these videos but no one talks about the ethical issues with how these machines get placed. Never seen anyone mention the charity aspect at all. I doubt any money goes to any good causes at all but that's how they get placed and also trick customers into thinking they are donating while buying candy.

    • @Konitama
      @Konitama ปีที่แล้ว

      @@shanejohnson4773 What are you talking about? Most vending machines pay out 20-40% to the business they are located at. This is common knowledge... businesses don't generally just let you place a bulky machine in their establishment for nothing.

    Genuine question. It seemed like each container of candy was ~$15 and then some machines you’d put in a container or two and barely just cover the cost of the product. Does it even out over time when you dont fill them? Just trying to consider gas and cost of product what the margins of net profit on these types of machines are. Are they worth the time and effort?

    If they allow you to put a machine in their business, do you think every business should give you your own keys to get inside, to handle your machines while they are closed? It would be much better doing it without being bothered by customers in my opinion. 🤔🤑🤑
    You are not technically a customer from my point of view. Maybe asking for a key or getting some form of access should be a practice whenever asking for a new location in my opinion. Once I start to grow my locations, this is what I might try to do. 😎

    • @quikplay
      @quikplay  ปีที่แล้ว +3

I am SERIOUSLY curious if you'd end up with more money in the end, by people willing to pay the extra, or less, by people NOT willing to pay the extra. Also, if possible, drop a few extra skittles and M&Ms for those willing to pay the extra so they understand that it wasn't a rip off.
