Could I please be advised by ANYONE as I'm pulling my hair out ,many emails later, trying to get an answer. I have dyscalcula,which is a severe maths disability. I didn't do math in school because of it. It's impossible for myself to achieve a maths GCSE. Fast forward to today, I'm nearly 30 and want to go into policing. To enter the policing degree, you need a Level 3 qualification, in any subject. Would I need my maths to be able to complete my level 3? Honestly so frustrating trying to figure all this out :( but I'm determined to push through and find a way round this. If anyone could advise me, it would be enormously appreciated !
You do not need maths, and if you have a letter that supports your claim most employers would consider you and actually gives you an advantage due to disability laws. If gcse is too advanced for you then you can do functional skills maths at level 2 which is just addition/substraction and percentage basic stuff. I hope this helps.

Hi just to make anyone aware . All level 2 NVQ are FREE Any levels 3 and above you have to pay and also big important information to be aware of . If you do a level 3 NVQ and you’ve never done a level 3 before you will NOT be able to get this free again and it is not always accepted for some universities and companies . I am personally doing a pre access to health course and maths and English gcse alongside to get onto access course . I’ve done 10 NVQ level 2 courses all FREE but if I did a level 3 NVQ I would NOT be able to have access course for free . Please don’t apply for a level 3 NVQ unless you are aware of what it means 😊

You can apply with any college , I go to solihull college and university they offer these courses you can find it on the drop down menu - distance learning - online courses and all level 2 and 3 will come up

In a nutshell, if you have not lived in the UK for up to 3 years, you would not be allowed to take NVQ for free.

Contacted them, one has to be in the UK for 3 years first, to pay for the course they want £349 for the 9 weeks
So you mean for one to get it free, they must be in the uk for 3years but if they haven’t stayed in the uk for upto 3years, they’ll have to pay??
