Meet little Plum the goat!

- She’s a keeper.
When Plum popped out back in April, we weren’t sure she would take her first breath. After rubbing and shaking her, she sputtered to life and has been full of it ever since. Of course we have to keep her. Like human kids or puppies each goat has a very distinct personality from the moment they are born. Plum is no different. Although it took her a little bit to get going, she always had a strong spirit. It is pretty rare for a goat to have five babies, and even more uncommon for all five to survive. Rhubarb is such an amazing mother that all five of her kids not only survived but thrived including the littlest one, plum. Since she is staying on the farm we figured we should take some time to introduce her to you properly. It is a little difficult getting her on camera because as soon as she sees a human she runs right up close to them and tries to jump in their lap. She is very much a bottle baby. But unlike other kids we have had to bottlefeed, plumber also is connected to her mom rhubarb which is really awesome.

She is so precious. I remember when we first saw her...... so little. I am thrilled that she has thrived and even more thrilled that she will get to spend her entire life at Sunflower Farm Creamery !!!!! Lucky little Plum.......

She sure is a little doll as well as a mischief maker. At first I thought she was nuzzling some carrots next to the hay but then I realized she was playing with some kind of pruning shears or similar. I’m so glad you are keeping her. More babies coming the end of this month, Hope?

What a sweet little cuddle bug!! Of course you have to keep her, but I'd imagine it's a bit hard to part with them anyway, just you know how much joy they will bring to their adopters and that softens the process. I do wonder, with so many of them do you ever get them mixed up?

A few years ago I was in Williamsburg Virginia. I went for a walk at night and saw a man walking 2 large dogs in the distance. As I got closer, I was stunned to see that they were actually goats! Not something you see too often. 😀
