This happens more than you think in the eu. In the uk they're more on to it. Less like to happen here due to modern technology. Good luck. And a great trucking channel. 👍👍👍

I almost got caught out with a similar thing in UK when delivering to a convenience store - however noticed my cab light was still on after after I apparently locked the door.
What had happened was someone had opened my passenger door whilst I was was dealing with making sure the rear of my trailer was in line with a specific part on the kerb for delivery. As I had the engine running still whilst I was checking this (yes I know youre supposed to turn it off if you leave the cab!), I hadn't heard the door open - they had then quietly closed the door but not closed it fully (only onto the first click of the door latch) - when I had locked the truck, the lights had flashed etc to make me think I had locked them but then they had immediately flashed again as the truck had unlocked itself again as one of the doors wasnt closed properly - the cab light also remained on. Tried again after checking drivers door was definately closed and the same thing had happened. Went round to passenger door and noticed it wasnt fully closed so someone must have been waiting in a hedge or something in the darkness to get in my cab and nick my phone/wallet etc whilst I was clattering around hauling wheeled cages off the back of my truck into the shop.
Could be that this gang you encountered are more sophisticated and have special signal blockers/readers etc but could also be a simple thing like this where they had opened passenger door somehow when you were distracted (maybe when you returned to truck and your "good Samaritan" was hanging around suspiciously distracting you whilst another guy quietly opened and partly closed your passenger door whilst you had truck unlocked?).

Did you lock the cab door on the remote? If so they scanned the signal and cloned it to open the door, if you used a key then they're professional lock pickers.

Yeah I used the central locking button so I assume it was blocked or cloned given how quick it happened.

@@DTWTheWanderingMuzungu here in South Africa remote jamming as we call it here is rife, we always wait a minute or so after locking the door with the remote to see if it's still locked. We also have the grabbing of codes from keyless entry key fobs, then the car is stolen at the thief's leisure.

Surely in this day and age with modern technology fuel card companies would be able to make their cards all chip and pin therefore doing away with the need for swiping the cards at unmanned fuel depots you obviously need to put a card in the machine and enter a pin number so why not use the same procedure at manned ones 🤷‍♂️

Appreciate that it's a long shot but was any of your cameras recording when you went into the services?. ( go pro or internal if fitted ) . If it's a bigger operation then the fuel card company might be more willing to pursue.
