For those of you doing AWS certifications, with Cloudwatch I use the anagram M.A.L.E.

Thanks for the awesome video... New to AWS and EC2, wanted a general understanding of CloudWatch services. This is perfect

Really good video. One small feedback, it could have more realistic demo examples. The number of times you said “I am not sure” could have been replaced by useful examples. Thank you.

This was a great overview - it would be better if you had some fake data rather than the blank graphs.

I'm searching for these kind of videos on CloudWatch which shows all the features on the dashboard. I have used few features and want to know what all it can do on a high level. Thanks for sharing the video.

Nicely done video, good pace and explanations. However, one suggestion, have some actual data to show instead of asking me to use my imagination.

I think Cloud Watch is great and I have 3 dashboards that give me metrics of 3 EC2 instances. An issue I have run into is when I have to replace the instance (a PHP update to Bitnami WordPress for example), I have to deselect the old instance and select the new instance for each metric (of which I monitor 12, including custom metrics like disk capacity). This takes quite a bit of time and is very annoying (plus I need to remember to do it!). Do you know of a way around this?

Hi floply. If you find the metric you are interested in and use the 'Graph Search' functionality, it will apply each result to a line in your graph. This way, even if your hosts change, you would still be monitoring the same set of metrics on your dashboard.
      Hope this helps.

@@BeABetterDev Thanks for replying. Maybe I am doing something wrong as I can't get it to do what you suggest. The issue is when I add something from the "All metrics" (via Graph Search or otherwise), it adds these metrics to the "Graphed metrics", but these are all linked to an "InstanceId". So if the instance changes, the graph is useless. A good example would be auto-scaling - how do I automatically get new instances to be added to the graph? Thanks again for your help.

Good video, it would have been great if you could have some real-time examples. And some more preparations.
