  • First video only fitting for the car that has cost me enough money for a house down payment. This is the walk around of my 2003 Mazda Protege5. It has been modified inside and out. Under the hood and under the chassis. Very close to my heart, I daily this car and have taken many trips with it across the country.

      Isn't that the truth. They will kill a corner which is handy since they get smoked on the straights. haha

      Well thank you. They aren't fast stop light to stop light, but you for sure don't have to slow down too much around those corners. I have had a ton of fun in it especially since I started auto crossing it.

      Rage Fueled well my first car was a protégé and it was fun, second was an Rx8 and its being swapped for obvious reasons, so in the meantime Im going to invest in a reliable daily :)

    • @RageFueled
      @RageFueled  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      "For obvious reasons" lmao very nice. These are very good. The 2.0 FSDE is a good little engine if you don't go about boosting it.

    Nice Bro i have a crap Protege' 5 i bought for 400 just replaced the shifting assembly and the trans and clutch. slowly but surely i will keep investing. ordered lights and tints coming soon. prob plasti dip stock wheels til i get your type of money. thanks for sharing. Beautiful Engine btw. dope all black. like the yellow foggers

      @RageFueled  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks buddy. Appreciate the compliments. I have been working it over for about 18 months. They can be really nice for little wagons. Don't expect to go fast unless your forging and boosting which I am not. My next car will get that treatment. This is my daily. No more rear seats or AC. Fun and sporty. Quick enough to get in trouble but not enough to get hurt.

  • @BraydenMowery
    @BraydenMowery 7 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    hey this is probably a dumb question, but idk alot about cars...what's the gauges on the driver's side called if I want to buy them? what do I look up? Thank you

    • @RageFueled
      @RageFueled  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That is called a pillar gauge pod. I bought just the pod from a guy on the facebook pages. The gauges I ordered separately and wired them all in myself. I would look on the appropriate parts pages on facebook. That's the best place for stuff like that. I know a guy selling an extremely rare carbon fiber interior set on there.

    My miata got totaled this morning. A utility suddenly jumped in my lane... Always wanted a hatchback & want to keep it mazda so I have been consider this as a daily is it realiable?

    • @RageFueled
      @RageFueled  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The non turbo cars run forever. Just keep them maintenanced like you should. There are lot's of people with over 250k on their cars. The engines are very tough. The speeds tend to blow more. They need a tune to survive even 7 psi if ran hard. I have 150k on mine. The last 20k have been hard miles. Me racing and running it hard. Sorry about you miata though.

      I own an 02 p5 and i love it, ive had it for 2 years now and other than issues that werent told to me by a previous owner ive had no issues with it once i had gotten those parts replaced. The only pain in the butt with these things id say is changing passenger side bulb for your headlight because of the resivuar (cant spell that word) thats in the way.

    went and bought a 2002 protege5 last August. new bugs I had to work out, but she runs like a dream. looking to possibly turbo, any suggestions?

    • @RageFueled
      @RageFueled  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Daniel Grim the MSP turbo parts will all bolt on. You can safely run 6-7 psi without risk. Anymore than that you risk zoom zoom boom.

    • @RageFueled
      @RageFueled  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Appreciate it. It does good on the track with this setup. I have my FRS that will be fast enough for me. In fact, today on my way home I got this little Mazda to 122 haha. Poor thing was struggling.

    • @rowsdower12
      @rowsdower12 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Rage Fueled nice. And most welcome. Are you gonna mod the FR-S? I have a soft spot for wagons. Granted I own a rare lancer sportback wagon...04. Handles decently, not even the ralliart.

    • @RageFueled
      @RageFueled  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes. It will get a half cage, JDL turbo kit, full exhaust, etc. Goal is around 325 hp to the wheels.
      I have always loved wagons. I really wanted them to make the FRS Shooting Brake concept come to life but I don't think that will ever happen unfortunately.

    where did u get ur 4-2-1 header

    • @RageFueled
      @RageFueled  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It is off a Probe. You can order one new from ebay. Mine was used that already had a magnaflow resonator made for it. It does take modification on the midpipe because the header is a lot longer than the stock one or the 4-1.

    Were you buy the fog light ??
    How run the cat converter with a header ?

    • @RageFueled
      @RageFueled  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      R34 those fog lights are oem with a yellow film over them. I have since replaced and relocated them with led lights behind the lower grill.
      I do not run converters on this car.

    what type of blue paint did you use for the interior plastics?

    • @RageFueled

      It was a metallic blue rattle can from Lowes. I sanded heavy and used etching primer.

    I cant decide whether to buy a Mazda protege 5 2003 manual with low compression on cylinders 2 and 3 for 1000$. What do you think about it and is it worth buying?

    • @RageFueled
      @RageFueled  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Success51 if the body is solid, interior is good, then it’s worth it. Especially if it will still start and drive.

  • @bloodgirl4
    @bloodgirl4 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    did you change the ignition coils and wires out? Looks like the coil/wires outta my 99' 1.8L protege

    • @RageFueled
      @RageFueled  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes I did. It has a 626 valve cover and the coils from the 1.8.

    • @bloodgirl4
      @bloodgirl4 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Wondering why... the position of the coil over the manifold tends to cook it every 50k ish miles... Ive had to replace mine twice already.

    • @RageFueled
      @RageFueled  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      A couple reasons, first it is a much cleaner look and I don't mind replacing for the sake of a clean bay. With the header I'm running I'm hoping the heat will disapate a little better but I doubt it. Second is because the 1.8 coils have a slightly lower resistance. I'm doing a NA build on it so I need all the help I can get. Haha

    • @RageFueled
      @RageFueled  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      kibwe king oh yes. You have to run a really low series tire but lots of people run 18’s. Especially off the rx8. Just check your fender roll and offset before you buy wheels.

    • @bloodgirl4

      This car has stock 16" wheels. I have 17" Enkei for the summer.

  • @DMX-PAT
    @DMX-PAT 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    So what's numbers is it running now? Thanks!

    • @RageFueled
      @RageFueled  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's a slightly less slow version of a slow car so don't expect much lol Last time I checked it, it ran the 1/4 in 15.2 at 79. It would probably be high 14's if I ran it now. Nothing impressive and frankly I am a little embarrassed to actually say how slow it really is. This car is a corner killer though. I never planned to have straight line speed with it.

    • @DMX-PAT
      @DMX-PAT 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah man who cares how fast it is, my E46 325i is nothing special, it's all stock and likely not even making what it originally was suppose to but who cares. It's the way you drive and that counts, the car you choose to drive is purely personality and that's the fun part. If we all drove Porsches then people who drive them wouldn't matter because most people who own them don't drive them fast or with finesse anyway.

    • @RageFueled
      @RageFueled  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      You're not wrong. I drive it very spiritedly and with manual steering and the upgraded shift linkage, it's a blast to haul ass in. I've never driven anything that feels like it does. That car probably lifts a rear wheel in a corner at least once every time its driven.
