Maybe I would've understood Dev and Maya's attraction to each other if they showed some character development like "you make me want to be a better person". But they were just as toxic with each other as they were to their spouses, Dev more so with his Un called for possessiveness. I love the movie's intentions, specially now that Deepika and Siddhant's Gehraiyaan will be releasing soon which tackles similar uncomfortable themes, but I wish they'd shown some character development where Dev tries to be a better friend to Riya if not a husband, like what was the whole point of them establishing that background if it didn't help the story in any way. But they just skipped the whole redemption arc and went straight to Riya and Rishi still being the bigger person and forgiving them just because they're miserable. Anyway, I remember downloading this movie back then just for the songs (TH-cam wasn't a big thing in my household back then😂), the songs are absolutely beautiful.
