I'm literally crying because I am from Serbia and I love Greece soooo much cause of their history. I am not person who loves history but greek's history is amazing. Especially the ancient TROY.
Well, the composer of the hymn, Nicolaos Mangiaros was from the Ionian Islands, that have much Italian tradition. His name sounds quite Italian too. Not to mention that the lyrics of the hymn were written by Conte Solomos, a hellenised Italian family from Zante, personal friend and student of Ugo Foscolo. Solomos wrote his first poems in Italian, he studied law in Italy etc. Our countries stuggled for liberty side to side at the 1800s. Glorious times.
