John Tlale | Rothmans Cup Final, Mambush Klaap & Pirates

In This episode, John Tlale talks to ‪@iDiskiTV‬ about the iconic Rothmans Cup final they played against Kaizer Chiefs in 1998. He describes how he felt about the moment when Joel Fire Masilela's goal was ruled offside against Chiefs.
John Tlale also speaks about another Cup Final that Mamelodi Sundowns played against Kaizer Chiefs. in that Final, Sundowns Captain, Daniel Mambush Mudau slapped Charles Motlohi for refusing to take a penalty.
The legendary goalkeeper also spoke of how he joined Orlando Pirates, Free State Stars and what he is currently doing.
John Tlale (born 15 May 1967) is a South African former footballer who played at both professional and international levels as a goalkeeper. Tlale played club football for Bloemfontein Celtic, Welkom Stars, Mamelodi Sundowns and Spartak Pretoria; he also earned eight caps for the South African national side between 1999 and 2002 and was part of the squad that won the 1996 African Cup of Nations.

He really was a great keeper. He was largely overshadowed by the popularity of Brian Baloyi and William Okpara during his time. He deserves bigger recognition.

John Tlale is the gentleman of the game, a disciplined player. Played in the 1990's during the peak of South Africa's football and he showed all fans his true qualities. John was a solid, reliable goalkeeper. As a supporter of football I respect John. Thank you John Tlale
