I cringed just the same when I saw the series! I can’t wait for them to see what happens to this arc in a few episodes with what Prissy decides to do 👀
Yes, it's that old premise, when your hair and looks are great, you don't meet anyone important, but when you look like a wet dog, with that huge pimple on your face, then the crush bumps into you everywhere.
I always liked the contrast between Josie and Anne's problems with beauty at the end of the episode. Anne's obsessions with her looks backfired, but it was a lesson, meanwhile Josie is forced to have standards when it comes to beauty, but extremely superficial, so she doesn't learn anything (mostly because of her parents, not just herself).
Anne’s pixie cut is beautiful, it’s a little jarring to see at first but it grows on you and then as her hair grows it really enhances her transformation from girl to young women by the end of the show. It’s a really beautiful parallel.
in the book, when it grows out is around the time anne is at the peak of puberty, and the color darkens a little to a rich chestnut auburn that's really flattering on her, according to marilla and rachel. helps reinforce the "grown woman" thing a lot too
Rob your laugh is infectious. 😅 Poor Anne can't catch a break. I'm not sure if you caught that her hair only turned green because she regretted the black and tried to wash it out. The soap she used turned it green.
i always thought it was because black is a cool color (usually with blue -ish undertones). So if you try to take it out you get a lighter, less opaque version of it and with her warm redhair showing through, it would look like that.
Anne's hair turning green is actually in the book and I'm so happy they kept it in the series 😂 I've always loved red hair and in the book she learns to love it after this particular disaster
the skirt lifting thing happened in my school (i went to a catholic school with uniforms) it was so mortifying. anyway... next few episodes are gonna be so good!
Anyone who says that the teacher-student, underage relationship wasn't weird is so wrong!!! This plot point was written in the books to call out underage marriages from the 19th century, even though they were not NEARLY as common as people today seem to think. Even in the 19th century, and even in small rural communities, if a teacher tried to get with a student 16 years old or younger, 9 times out of 10 he would've been driven out of town by the people.
Haven’t watched this show yet, but I’m new to the channel and just want to tell you I’ve been enjoying your content so much! You guys are definitely my new favorite reaction channel. Looking forward to a lot more reactions 😀
I love your video guys! You always are so consistent it’s crazy!! If you are ever looking for a comedy or sitcom I’d recommend New Girl!! It’s a great show!!
Billy and Prissy Andrews are siblings lol 6:23 Edit: though it’s hard to remember it was only mentioned once Edit 2: idk if you were talking about Prissy or Josie. Josie and Billy yes that makes sense
Anne dyeing her hair green was always one of my fav stories from the original Anne of GG. I really wished they had left out the teacher and Prissy storyline. Its cringe beyond belief. And Anne totally unaware of how shes slowly falling for Gilbert.
Her brother died and she had to stay home and look after Matthew because their mother no longer could (more of that explained later in the show.) John wanted to travel the world and asked Marilla to go with him but she felt she couldn't leave home with Matthew and her mother relying on her after the brother died. So he left and met Gilbert's mother while he was abroad.
In my opinion she doesn’t look that bad. Yes to me she herself looks better long but it could have been worse. Nowadays girls do wear short hair sometimes but I don’t blame you for not liking it
Why would the teacher be fired... Prissy is older than Anne and Diana etc. She's 16-17 in this season. I think at that time it wasn't that weird to get married younger... Also the teacher is probably not as old as you think.
Just because it wasn't too unusual for the time, doesn't make it right. He's still her teacher, and there's a massive power imbalance there that he is clearly abusing. Sure, not something he'd be fired for in that time and setting, but definitely still very wrong.
This show is good. However, the original story is wonderful. They took alot of liberties with the story. They added stuff, I guess to update it, but I wish people would write their own stories, instead of changing other people’s work. That’s just my opinion. Why can’t people create their own work. Always rebooting other people’s work. Anne of Green Gables was one of my favorites books. Of course, this was written over a hundred years ago. I am sure there are creative minds out there.
Personally, I don't see anything wrong with taking these kinds of liberties as long as it's not trying to claim to be the same thing, better, or an authority. As long as it's just using a work as inspiration for a new take on the characters or world, and it's honest about that, I think it's a perfectly valid form of creative expression and artistry.
Well here's the thing. There have been a million more "faithful" adaptations of Anne of Green Gables. They never said they were going to it word for word. It's simply an adaptation. It's okay when there is both. If there was only one adaptation then maybe I could understand, but there's plenty and the heart of the book is still here. Anne is still Anne. In this way it inspires another generation. It's also more true to the times then.

Bryce and Rob’s faces of disgust at Mr Phillips is so funny 🤣
And then calling his side story unnecessary is so valid. Loollll
I cringed just the same when I saw the series! I can’t wait for them to see what happens to this arc in a few episodes with what Prissy decides to do 👀
I just knew Ann’e dyeing her hair was gonna go horribly wrong considering Gilbert was gonna come back
Oh yea, he loves her red hair
Yes, it's that old premise, when your hair and looks are great, you don't meet anyone important, but when you look like a wet dog, with that huge pimple on your face, then the crush bumps into you everywhere.
The way you said Gilbert popped the baby out made it sound like Gilbert physically had the baby lol😂
I love that they HAD to put the teacher in a wig and mustache 'cause the actor's pretty good-looking
they wanted no Ezra Fitz situation
Nice 👍
Yes I remember seeing a picture of him and wow he looks so different
zuff calling moody “mad eye” 😭😭
It's quite a bittersweet moment to see Marilla smiling while listening to the girls giggling.
I always liked the contrast between Josie and Anne's problems with beauty at the end of the episode.

Omg I never knew that. I wondered how it became green. I like her better with red than black anyway
i always thought it was because black is a cool color (usually with blue -ish undertones). So if you try to take it out you get a lighter, less opaque version of it and with her warm redhair showing through, it would look like that.
@@justabout6979 but in the episode she tells marilla she used laundry bleach. 21:34 in the reaction.
We enter the anne pixie cut era!!! I love it personally
13:45 Diana knew Anne liked Gilbert before Anne even knew, it seems
The way Bryce looks so disgusted anytime it shows the student and teacher 😂 SAME I freaking hated their storyline like no one wants to see that ?!
12:35 😭💀💀💀 matthew wasn’t trying to run away to the barn he was just tryna relocate the conversation lmfaooo

No girl, no woman should EVER experience anything like that and I'm so sorry it happened to you. 💔
at my school there was also a boy who lifted the girls’ skirts, outside of class you always had to hold the skirts with your hands 🥲
I love how consistent you guys are your video reactions make my day better 🫶🏻
Anne is actually in stranger things and she plays Vicky the girl the robin has a crush on.

She looks beautiful with red hair. Not gonna lie I like the actor better with the red hair than her blonde hair ( she still looks pretty though)
5:35 Jane looks like Prissy? They're sisters, so it's kinda fitting. The actresses playing them are not related though.
I love your video guys! You always are so consistent it’s crazy!! If you are ever looking for a comedy or sitcom I’d recommend New Girl!! It’s a great show!!
I love that you guys upload videos consistently.
I loved this chapter from the book ~ Anne’s green hair 😂
I'm not sure if it is true in this series but in the books, Gilbert is 2 years older than Anne
I think it's the same in this series as well.
Billy and Prissy Andrews are siblings lol 6:23
Edit: though it’s hard to remember it was only mentioned once
Edit 2: idk if you were talking about Prissy or Josie. Josie and Billy yes that makes sense
They were talking about Josie.
@@6891x thanks but I realized that not long after^^ edit 2
Heyy, this episode posted at the perfect time lol 😼

Speaking of Zuff calling Moody (mad eye) when will you be doing the rest of potter? Or did i miss it somehow.😮
Anne dyeing her hair green was always one of my fav stories from the original Anne of GG. I really wished they had left out the teacher and Prissy storyline. Its cringe beyond belief. And Anne totally unaware of how shes slowly falling for Gilbert.

Can't wait for the next one!
Oh anne, maybe think about things first lol
Laundry blueing.... I'm assuming some sort of bleach
Best comment I’ve heard in a while 6:28 😂😂😂
I wanna know why Marilla and John Blythe didn’t end up together/ what happened with their relationship
Her brother died and she had to stay home and look after Matthew because their mother no longer could (more of that explained later in the show.) John wanted to travel the world and asked Marilla to go with him but she felt she couldn't leave home with Matthew and her mother relying on her after the brother died. @@laurashepherd2479 thanks. Don’t recall all of that being in the story( watched full show)
you need to watch the society
Josie is so mean. I know her mom is a bad influence but it’s hard to feel sorry for her.
I forgot about this omg, the haircut was horrible
In my opinion she doesn’t look that bad. Yes to me she herself looks better long but it could have been worse. Nowadays girls do wear short hair sometimes but I don’t blame you for not liking it
