  • Screens and artificial lighting after dark are disrupting your circadian rhythms, lowering your bodies' production of melatonin, and increasing the time you have available for stressful activities (increasing your evening cortisol levels). Learn how to address this, the pros and cons of blue light blocking glasses, how red lighting can help, and how it all relates to cancer (including breast cancer), mental health conditions and depression, obesity and low energy levels. Understanding the dangers of artificial light will allow you to boost your energy and improve your health by reducing your risk for almost every chronic disease there is whilst bulletproofing your mental health.

Hi, thank you for this wonderful presentation. It’s 100% truth. I am a huge proponent of permanent standard time to the point that this Iyear refused to move my watches to avoided stress of looking at my watch and seeing the lie thay put us under and realizing it every time I check time.

We have done similar. We changed our clocks though, but simultaneously shifted everything else we could eg wake up time, meal times, bed time etc etc.

Great practical ideas in this video. I'd add that sunshine in the mornings helps you feel more awake.

Absolutely. I think maximising outdoor natural light during the whole day is key to good health, especially first thing as you say.

Everybody thought I was eccentric for switching back to incandescent bulbs, and buying the lowest watt ones I could find. But they're the least artificial of all the artificial lights I'm aware of.
I'd use candles, but I have a cat...

Thanks for this, we'll give it a go. What about reading during the dark hours?

Hope you enjoy it. Once you get used to it, it's very hard to go back. Problem with screens is you are staring at a high source. Reading much better, particularly if light reflecting off page coming from lowish lamp not too bright (ideally amber tones or a red light bulb) as then light is reflected off the page so coming from down low, rather than reading under strong overhead lights.

Good question, it is being investigating for several different conditions. But I remain skeptical about being able to replicate a complex body system involving melatonin, with a synthetic hormone. Human knowledge of human physiology extremely rudimentary.

In a way the invention of the lightbulb was a mistake. i just started using Alexa to time my lights with the sun to fix my abysmally bad sleep.

Nice, hopefully that will help. Being awake in darkness is going to be way better than being awake under artificial light / in front of screens anyway.
