Profile of Agronomy Study Program UGM

The Agronomy Study Programme, Department of Agronomy, Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Gadjah Mada, is located in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. The Agronomy Study Program has two main laboratories: Laboratory of Plant Production Management and Laboratory of Plant Breeding, each of which has four rooms. The Agronomy Study Programme consists of many outstanding university lecturers with broad research expertise related to Agronomy and Plant Breeding Science.
The Agronomy Study Programme has a wide range of research facilities and equipment, such as 7 Green Houses, a Plant Nursery, and a Hydroponic Screen House. There are one Lecture Hall and ten classrooms, each of them has a projector, a set sound system, a whiteboard, an air conditioner, and an internet connection. The administration office is provided academic services for the students. Other facilities for students are the library and Grape Garden Co-working space. Students can use those places for studying or group meetings. The Agronomy Study Programme's safety precaution for students includes Hydrant, Evacuation Route, and Meeting point.
The Agronomy Study Programme has several supporting facilities for learning and research for the academic community. There are located in several places outside the campus. 1). Pagilaran Plantation: a facility that focuses on tea, coffee, cocoa, and quinine, 2). Tridharma Experimental Land of Banguntapan that used for practicum and research, and 3). UGM Agrotechnology Innovation Center: a field laboratory to carry out integrated education, research, and community service.
The Agronomy Study Programme conducts a Hybrid-Style classroom amidst the COVID-19 Pandemic. Transitioning from online learning, The Agronomy Study Programme holds face-to-face lectures as a part of hybrid learning by implementing a strict COVID-19 precaution protocol. The Agronomy Study Programme also contributes to Indonesian agriculture by releasing new plant varieties, such as Superior Tea Clone Varieties of Faperta UGM PGL Series, Gamato Superior Tomato Varieties, and Agri Orchids Dendrobium Fapertagama. The Agronomy Study Programme lectures have been developing the Amphibious Rice Varieties Gadjah Mada Gogo Rancah (GAMA GORA) and superior onions UGM varieties. The study program also has a regular forum with experts, practitioners, and the public, namely BUPER TALK.
