I was a level 60 and I didn’t have a dmr or a magnum variant and now I am a level 78 and I have the dmr but STILL no magnum variants

The perfect way to get everything quickly is to start with bronze, move on to silver, then open golds. I have a LOT of legendaries and I'm level 115.
Lucky warzone is basically unplayable unless you have a H2br

Hey luke, thanks a lot for this video.Finally Made it to diamond by simply abusing the pistol instead of being stuck looking for a br in every map (because i am one of those br addicts, but now im even using the pistol in warzone as my secondary weapon), goes well with the helljumper setup (which i also changed while watching that video with proximmity). Keep making great content!

Or you just outplay them with your aim, movement and prediction abilities...
That's why you need to stay in close to medium range to your enemies.
+Albert Brüchle I'm good with a magnum, I'm better when people are on higher ground helps me aim for the head better. But when I'm shooting someone and they are shooting me I can't move around as much, like crouching and jumping because it puts me off aim and focus. I'm not as good as Luke, or Pingy, or spiteful or Smurfy or spliced or any others, but I'm really good with a sniper rifle so I'm looking forward to unlocking the sniper rifle.

I stopped using br and just used magnum and dmr and immediately got more kills. I did it for a day of warzone, then played one arena game and went on a running riot.
15 kills with DMR
i get almost 35-40 kills per game with br

Wow.. That's a really good point on the promethean vision because you depend so much on it. Makes me wanna go back to Halo 4 and play around on it, I loved playing it!
This video actually made something make sense for me.
During Halo 4 in SWAT I would exclusively use the DMR, it prefer it as my weapon of choice but whenever there would be a time when I noticed I wasn't doing so good or I was just getting a bit pissed off, I'd switch to the BR and then I'd be doing well again. If I stayed with the BR constantly though I'd then become worse. I think it's because of the exact thing you said in this video basically.
3:21 interesting. I never do "the flick" and have never had this problem you're talking about. Though I do agree pistol is much harder to use than a BR.
I'm really struggling to req the pistol varients and it's pissing me off cos I use the pistol all the time and I'm wanting to get better with it but I just can't get them
+Luke thenotable halo tips Alternatively if you get really accurate (something that can help with this is swat) you can pull off crazy things with the br, like triple headshots, damaging several enemies at once while back pedalling, and of course thinning out the enemy on firefight within seconds.
I don't know why you have to wait til level 6 to get the dmr it's not like it gives you a way bigger advantage then the br. smh they should at least bring it down to 3 or 4 . just my opinion

I agree to some degree. I've noticed I do that aiming flick to get a headshot whether I have a BR or a DMR. Since Halo 2, that thumb flick was essential to getting headshots with a sniper. So I've been practicing it for years, so it doesn't hinder me. I'm good enough at using it so I outplay people a lot. The flick allows for a much faster shot, but if you're not well trained in using it, you'll miss and get murdered.
So I was watching this vid and telling to myself "F***! I don't have any of these new pistols, I guess, I'll just keep sucking my BR in a corner... :'(" and a minute after finishing listening to this vid, what do I get in my Gold Pack ? Gunfighter Magnum ! \o/
in my opinion the battle rifle feels best when either assisting or doing the ever trolling kill steal as, in my experience, it is often underestimated. because most players prioritize the guy with the higher level gun as the more dangerous target, this often translates as me and my friends have at least two guys with the battle rifle and one guy with the bigger more intimidating gun: from what I've felt other players prioritize the bigger gun as the primary target while the battle rifles are secondary, allowing the battle rifles a split second moment where they are ignored... anyone who plays warzone knows that a split second make's a massive difference

But that br clip was done on purpose.... You got killed with hammer right after just standing there cuz you recorded it ( the clip at 3:36) it was also earlier in the video. Not bashing you just saying that clip was over exaggerated.

I don't play Warzone very much, but I play a lot of SWAT, and I'd noticed that some days I'd do great with the magnum, but other days I was terrible.
After watching this video, I'm thinking this is probably at least part of the reason.
The times I've played below-average, I most likely played plain SWAT (BR) matches to start and was sweeping my shots (which I know I definitely do, it's essential in SWAT- and there's nothing better than scoring a double kill with a single burst!).
Then I've been put in a SWATnums (magnum) match, and although I don't sweep my shot like I would with the BR, I'm probably firing just before I've actually lined up the headshot out of habit.
Next time I play I'll try playing a few matches of Slayer using only the magnum, before I start playing SWAT, see if it makes a difference.
A quick question- I'm often losing magnum battles outside of red-reticule range. I try to aim for the middle of the head, but often shots that I feel should have been a headshot don't get the kill.
Anyone have any advice? Should I aim higher, or lower perhaps?
I wish 343 would add some sort of bots to forge mode, even ones without AI and that stand there, or have to be scripted to move, so I could make a training level with realistic targets.

This is super true, after using the battle rifle too much, my DMR shot worsen. I played 20 games of breakout to get my pistol shot back to normal

I was feeling some thing similar for me I cut out straifing and my accuracy improved a lot. I just throw in an evade last minute to dodge some shots then get the kill. It is hard to centre my aim some times.

See halo reach has a kinda slight type of glitch with its hit scan and if you don’t know but when you shoot the body or near the head there is a slight second before the shot or hit scan ends and before it ends you move your crosshair to the head and it counts as a headshot plus the normal shot, this will work mostly on swat or well better since you use dmr’s and dmr’s are very good when you want to switch to a magnum. The battle rifle is a good weopons but sadly rather use a pistol in halo 5, if I played war zone then I play magnum then br since this type of kinda change would not affect me since I usually know what kind of weapon I am using and know how to use it.
That suppressed pistol looks so good, wasted like 6 gold packs trying to get it, should probably finish silver but it looks so good.
I feel you, it's happened to me before but it's more or less me playing and using BRs it's just sometimes I just get weird and get wired in the way I play with BRs

The H2 Battle Rifle would like to scoff at your puny pop pistol....
When I first saw the video title I was confused. The BR tends to be my best weapon! After watching this I now understand exactly why I struggle so much more. I've been playing so much more BTB and Warzone recently and while my pistol accuracy is the same I can never seem to hit the headshots I used to.
i hear you talking about the flick a lot, luckily have never had that problem. idk what it is about the br, but i love it and a lot of times will take it over the dmr even
also love the gunfighter magnum when i pick it up. if i had that option that'd probably be my main gun but unfortunately haven't gotten that req yet
watching this I am so glad I dont have an xbox one considering when I used to play halo in the original/360 era the battle rifle was a fun gun you werent looked down on for using... only thing you were looked down on using was the one hit elite sword and the damn grav hammer and that was a good reason for that you either latched onto the person your aiming at or you had a widespread hit that could multikill easily.
really just tempted to pick out halo 2 and just play the campaign with it again :/
I use the battle rifle every warzone match, and I have to say it's my favorite weapon. What I liked about this video is that it is true (from what I can see) and it has a solution to the problem. I don't love battle rifles any less, I just appreciate magnums more. Thank you.
I see your point. The BR is my favorite gun to use of all time, any game. But I do see your point about how it would handicap single shot weapon use. Your analogy of using the single shot weapons to get better with the BR reminds me of baseball players putting a weight on the end of their bat and practicing swinging with that. When it comes time to play their arms are so used to swinging something so much heavier that swinging a regular bat is so easy to them.

I found the only time that I've ever really gotten lazy with the BR was when I played a lot of SWAT, I'd drag shot all day long, then once I jumped back into arena I was in a world of pain.
I use the battle rifle, and I think it's okay, I do see some tweeks needed to make it good. But I mainly see it as a Grunt Killer beside the Magmum.

I'm so used to playing with a DMR that I don't spray the battle rifle. I don't think I've ever sprayed it. I didn't realize you could. I thought it was one of those instant triple shots like how a sniper shot is instant.

I agree that everyone should be getting a base weapon when they get the game. Also you said that if you don't have a certain gun just play the game and you'll get it eventually. Well I've been playing for 2 years and I still haven't gotten any of the pistol variants.(and I'm a level 128) Every gold pack I get is just a plea to the req gods that I get one. And then turns into a rant on how I hate the req system.

It used to be a bad habit of mine, but I got out of it. I usually have no problem with single fire weapons and BR. Most of the time I run with a pistol as my sidearm depending on my engagement distances.
Interesting thing i've noticed is having a better strafe with the pistol. It might be that how it feels casues me to change strafe faster, or something in its mechanics. The strafe in general feels less amazing than Halo 4 did but that's really just when i use the BR.

I'm level/rank 74 and got my first and only DMR at level/rank 72, and I've noticed a gigantic difference in how I play long range.

Thought it was a great video. Probably never would have thought that the BR was making me bad but after watching the video I noticed a drop off when I get to req 6 and pull a DMR there is sometimes a drop off in my accuracy

Muscle memory is affected by your environment and visuals as well.
Ever notice when you switch from a pistol to a BR your fingers are just tuned to the rate of fire. When you see you have a LR BR magnum etc your muscle memory should be tuned to that weapon type.
Instead of ignoring the BR, I would work on making sure you don't sweep pistol head shots.
i went through the same problem once after playing a butt ton of super fiesta. Get that whiplash a few games and the next time you play fathom your rail gun timing is a little off. After a couple shots though the good ol muscle memory kicks in and all in well.
I do not have the gunfighter magnum or other magnum variants, so basically I had no choice but to use the BR.
Most people I know, including myself, prefer the DMR. I just switch to the BR because of the range. It would be nice if the Carbine and light rifle were loadout weapons too.
The reason you play so well in the first game is your hidden rank resets overnight
p vision was used as a crunch for many players who used to as false map knowledge but if you instead saved it for firefight where they duck in and out of cover it was very powerful. I think bad players gave a strong skill a bad name

Sometimes I wonder why I even pick up battle rifles anymore, it seems like it's actually worse than the pistol sometimes.
i tend to run with an scoped AR and have gotten to the point where i feel it is my most accurate weapon. if you can control your rate of fire and hold it on the head you will get a kill.

That makes sense, that the battle rifle affects your shot with the magnum. I have been playing much more arena recently. I do have a question though. What is the best setting for sensitivity, in halo 5?
Gunfighter magnum seems to fire faster, hope I'm not wrong about that but if I'm right then I'd say it's great because of the reduction to red range. It's my new favorite, haven't unlocked the suppressed magnum yet but the gunfighter just feels more responsive. Red reticle may ensure your shot hits but I'd go so far as to say that over reliance on ensuring your shots are all in red reticle range can get you killed if you aren't able to hit shots just out of range, just my perspective from war zone because while arena has much more skill based conbat the diversity of fights in war zone force you to be more flexible in using the weapons you have to defend or push when the need arises. Also because warzone isn't a competitive playlist you're able to take more chances (because you're not going to drop rank for having a terrible string of games) so you can afford to try to get better at using weapons effectively outside their red reticle range which while it isn't the BEST way to use them for sure it is important to remember that you're in a War Zone so unlike the reliability that arena provides in terms of power weapons and power ups you've got to learn how to kite overshielded opponents, dodge speed boosted enemies and keep an eye out for players using active camo (at any time, and at times you may be up against more than 1 type) all while you're defending/attacking with weapons you may not have the time to swap for more appropriate choices for the situation that is unfolding. I wish there could be a Spartan Company War zone mode which only allowed teams of 8-12 to matchmake with other similar size teams because that would make things a little bit more interesting especially if they could make it ranked somehow. Idk at least to me I'm just not that interested in watching HCS as it is, the games emphasize players controlling spawns for weapons and boosts for the most part and that's kinda lame. If you're trying to make things interesting to watch then let teams duke it out for core destructions in an untimed war zone where the points don't grant victory only destroying the core does. It would take a lot of time and energy to design a war zone mode that's balanced for competitive players I'm sure but it would be a hell of a lot more interesting that watching players taking shots and ducking behind cover constantly. Especially since armor modes, power weapons, boosts and vehicles would mean there's a huge difference in complexity that teams must account for (a teammate with a power weapon that's good against vehicles needs support to get their shot on target and that means a teammate watching for snipers band a teammate ready and watching for any rushing opponents using close range weapons). I hope you read this Luke because I'd be really interested to hear what you're thoughts are on my theoretical competitive war zone mode. To me it would really emphasize players adapting their loadout and req choices to fill roles in smaller 3-4 man squads which when you think about it is how Spartans actually operate as opposed to 12 super soldiers rushing at a goal guns blazing hoping to dump enough lead into their opponents first instead of tactically carefully choosing their team's attack time/location and weapons to fit the situation.

I agree with some of your points but I think it's different for everyone. Flicking can help you clean up kills if you are able to control it and not rely on it and the BR's ttk is really unmatched at mid range.
I still haven't even gotten any of the new pistols whatsoever, hell not even the Halo 2 BR. I always have to pick it up off someone just to use it

I also think the bullet magnatizam is higher on the BR. I wish the BR and AR had less of that and I wish the AR was more accurate at longer ranges(it wouldn't aim for you but it will be better at longer ranges).
