      I could be wrong but I think she keeps her twists in a day or so before she takes them down. I know if I leave my twists in a week my twist out lasts way longer. But ain’t nobody really got time for that, I get it 😅 The multi-day twist out is a struggle! I get some success on my high shrinkage hair with sleeping in two low pigtail buns, if that even makes sense 😣

  • @i.destiny

    I am so happy with what you said towards the end about how you feel you are a better version of yourself now. I have DEF seen a difference in you over the years! Not just with your techniques and hair styles, but, more importantly, with you as a person! I feel like you are so much more comfortable in your own skin and are more at peace within yourself. I really noticed a big change (especially on your vlog channel) after you had Theo. You seem like a different person! You are so beautiful and full of life, and I am so grateful for you, your family, and your journey! Thank you for taking us along for the ride. It’s been absolutely breathtaking to watch!!

      Hey Moana !! Try stretching your hair first! I like to use curlformers to stretch the hair and have a nice "base" to work with for a clean twist out pattern. You can also control how the hair lays, a bit better when you stretch it first! Check out my "softest most defined twist out" video! It's all in there! (I think that's what it's called... 😊❤️)

      Maya W, it did! Don't be intimidated by subs. I am watching on a 72 inch screen, and it does not lie. Before, I was watching on my cell and said, wait a minute! My eyes are not playing tricks on me. That bottom row just flew in last night, on a red eye. 😂
      On a serious note, I sincerely pray that my sisters will not continue to lie for LIKES! Does anybody care about being righteous anymore? On top of that, do we really want God to bless our babies, when we lie and trick HIS children? Let's wake up Sisters and come clean, or don't come at all. Do not curse your babies for a few wooden nickels; it isn't worth it.

    I've been watching so many of the older "natural hair gurus", including Whitney since they big chopped... I learned more by observing the mistakes they made than from their advice. It's really cool to watch entire hair journeys than watch a single video and immediately apply it to your regimen... Like when she highlighted her hair... My brain was like "Nooooo, Whitney, for the love of God, NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!"

      Try apple cider vinegar instead of shampoo every once in a while. It really cleans the hair and scalp without being stripping. Works for my low porosity hair. 😊

      T Marie You're welcome! Make sure to dilute the ACV with water so it's not too acidic. I typically do half water, half ACV, but you can add more water if you like.

    • @helenejwilson
      @helenejwilson 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I used to do ACV rinses, but the smelllllll 😩 It used to make me sad. lol It took so long to rinse out. Do you put anything to mask the smell?? I may try some essential oils. Not sure what will work best.

    • @ComfortablyPlump
      @ComfortablyPlump 6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Helene I don't do anything to mask the smell because it doesn't bother me that much. My hair doesn't even smell like ACV after the wash process is over. The essential oil is a good idea tho, hopefully you find one strong enough.

    I’ve been doing the same thing with the detangling comb, I’m going to start just finger detangling more often now. My biggest issue is sticking to a regimen of washing or cowashing timeline. Right now I’ve have a bun up for about three weeks because it’s simple and hands off

    Anybody have advice on how to avoid extreme tangles. I can detangle my hair one night for an hour and the next day it’s back tangled , I am also very tender headed so combing my hair from roots to ends hurts. What products or methods can help me with manageability with my hair ??

    Funny that you used to wear stretched styles because you were uncomfortable with your texture, because to me your texture was/is sooooooo pretty! It's also very similar to my texture which is why I am drawn to you/your channel! You are my hair length goals rn, and it's been cool watching you grow your hair back out!

    Great advice girl! I am now realizing your third advice, less wash n gos to retain length! :)

    • @Naptural85
      @Naptural85  6 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      XoXo!! Thanks Iyda Michael !!! Yea that's just me personally! Some girls see normal growth with wash and Gos I def think it depends on your curl pattern! I've got such tight little curls and coarse hair, that keeping them stretched helps me out so much! Someone with bigger curls or a softer texture might not have that issue! ❤️❤️ (gotta set my disclaimer so ppl don't get mad!! 😆😆💯😘)

    • @caribeandiva
      @caribeandiva 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      When I first went natural I fell in love with my curl pattern. I wore wash and gos exclusively for the first 3 years. It took me another year to realize that it wasn’t good for my hair and kept me at shoulder length for all of those years. Some looser curled naturals can wear them and be ok but I can’t. Do what works for you.

      Naptural85 can you do an updated twist out video? I really don't see a difference in manipulation between twist outs and wash and goes on 4a or tight curls. Still gotta work through the coils either way

    I’m having the issue now of retaining length and dealing with breakage. I find myself having to keep trim/cut my hair way more often than I used to. This video helped me realize that I need to go back to finger detangling and cowashing, which I lived by about 2 or 3 years ago. My hair was healthier then than it is now (now that I think about it lol) as well as my hair retained moisture wayyy longer compared to now! Thank you for the reminder 😌

    • @Naptural85
      @Naptural85  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Swtsade J !! If it works well for you do it!! I used to prepoo with coconut oil and conditioner and it worked well for me for years (of course until I stopped using coconut oil lol) but yea I can imagine it working well to moisturize the hair before shampooing! I used to use it to moisturizer and detangle! ❤️

      Same. Ssk & splits. I’ve just decided on snipping ends every other month when I twist my hair.
      Also:
      1-check your moisture/protein balance.
      2- find the styles that work for your hair best. My loose hair hates everything but washngo.
      3- Lopo? Baggy your ends. My sis is lo po and swears by the baggy method for eradicating her ssk.
