As someone who needs an editor it's useful to understand things from the editors point of view. Actually... this video was more useful to me than ALL the 'How to find an Editor' videos I watched!! 😳👍🏽 🙏🏽
Thank you! This video was helpful to me from the other side, someone starting to think about hiring a freelance video editor for my own TH-cam channel.
I’m looking for a video editor for TH-cam channel. 4 to 8 videos a month. With possibility of expanding to TikTok shorts and/or insta reels. If you are interested let me know!
Hi I'm a senior video editor with 8 years of experience in this field you can hire me if you are still interested before I start working for you I will show you a demo of work.
Hey Colleen, thank you for the video.. I am in a moment where this video fits my needs, so great timing!. I have not tried (yet) some of the options you mentioned. For sure I will right now. My experience has been a little difficult. Let me explain: I learned video editing and some After Effects by myself. I know the basics about editing and I am happy to learn along the way, but I have no clients yet; therefore, no experience; so, no portafolio with real clients. That being said, I did a portafolio with stock footage but it seems it's not enough. So, it's been tough to get hired with no clients experience. Thank you again and I will keep trying!
I'm in the exact same place as you. Learned it out of sheer interest and quickly found great passion in it. Now got lots of praise for my work and presumably talent and I am thinking about turning more towards this as - for now - a side hustle. I am very ambitioned in stretching this out more, but do not know yet where to start. I will probably also start to do a "fake" portfolio with stock footage for now and see where I can land. Best of luck to you!
Working with stock footage is not a bad idea! But you’re right, sometimes it’s not enough. I myself ended up relying more on my resume than my portfolio when I was in that stage, because I had 3 internships but not a lot of content I could pull into my reel. That ended up working for me though because people like to see that you’ve worked with companies. It builds trust with them!
@@ColleenCavoloThat's both interesting but also a bit discouraging. I am a classical career changer, so I do not have any internships whatsoever. I just learned DaVinci DIY with several courses and then played around. So would you say there is any chance at all to get jobs / gain a foothold without a career past in this field? Great video by the way, already discovered quite a few platforms I never heard of!
@@ColleenCavolo Yeah.. I thought about interships.. it's anorther path I can try for sure. Although, I may not have direct experience in the role i believe my motivation and strong desire to learn make me a valuable candidate. So, I hope that plays as well. 😅
Signed up on all of em and have gotten 0 work from any of em.
Any update?
