You should a video about London England UK. There are million black people in England. Majority of the black people live in London. The suffering of black people in England is brushed under the carpet. But thanks be to God for the blessing I now enjoy.
Aaaaaas in. You know? I thought I was on a data diet as my metered data plan was less than 400MB when I stumbled on this video. She got me captivated from beginning to end. Wow. Now my data is now finished. She should write her story. It will make some sales.
Just seeing your story now. Coming to the USA it all depends on who is hosting you. I have been here for the past 20 years and I can not regret a day of me being here. By first year I had my papers in place went to Nursing College, brought my family here, did big projects back home and now I own a staffing company and home health company with lots of employees.
Yeah , that's true If you get good hosting you can build a big progress, I have two friends who migrated there and they are doing, way better and one of them took me as her personal assistant working on a part-time basis.
I was so moved by your life story and I believe it. I live in America born and raised so I know it’s true and can happen the way you describe it. I wish you well and hope you find the solitude and success you are searching for. I know you will succeed because you are strong, intelligent and determined. I would like to donate to your cause if I can and God bless and be with you always!
I got your story on Facebook when I was low I was almost giving up, But you transformed me, you inspired me.. I can now smile, Thank you Mercy, you're my hero.. I won't give up.. Jesus cares
Wow! She has so many lessons in this one interview.. 1. "Never pretend to be okay when you are stuck and need help" 2. "Be focused on one goal" 3. " Never give up or try to take your life"
You forgot: Don't come to America thinking it's the promise land. 2. Racism is real. 3. Don't hate on your own people. 5. Research the laws; research the economics; research the societal norms before coming to America, make sure to have solid connections while still in Africa. 6. Most of all, ask God if it is His will for you to come in the first place. 7. Stop worshipping white people as if they are gods. There is good & bad among all people 8. Ask for help when you need it. 9. Stop judging the African Americans (descendants of Africa's children), because we are always told we are black & non human in the eyes of the Colonizers. These too are the lessons in her life story.
MAKE A MIVIE, BUT, DON'T COMPROMISE WITH ANYONE ON YOUR TRUTH. ALL ACTORS/ACTRESSES NOT GAY, NOT LESBOS, UNLESS THEY REALLY R IN REAL LIFE. NO BLEACHED SKIN ACTORS/ACTRESSES EITHER. HER ON TH-cam IS THE REAL TIME MOVIE. MOVIES, TEND TO ADD OR TAKE AWAY TRUTH.
"Don't hurt yourself to help your family" . We Africans in the abroad are so guilty of this. Its normalised. I'm glad she is moving on. Thanks for sharing.
Amazing, amazing story!! As a young child coming to England from Pakistan, I thought I had come to a third world country, compared to how we lived in Pakistan. Western countries no doubt have advanced infrastructures and a somewhat better standard of living, but there is also poverty, mental illness, depression and loneliness. So sometimes it's better to stay where you are and work hard and take small steps to make your life better. I wish this amazing woman the very best for the future..
Take online courses you can go to school from anywhere there is no excuse. But when Pakistan is full of men and there is no women there I don't blame you for wanting to travel where women are if that's what you're interested in 😉
What a story. It had laughter: It had emotion: It had honesty: It had cause tears in my eyes : Before the end of the story I was falling for her, had I met her under thoes conditions I would of like to take care of her. One of the most beautiful stories I ever herd. My heart an my soul goes out to her. Let me see, how I can help support her cause. And she is beautifully too.
James,we Africans go through a lot but we pick ourselves and move on. Through prayers, God restores our lives. Kindly, it'll be great to support her and you'll be blessed.
I would come here 100 times to listen to your story....girl thank you its an eye opener....we can be succesful even in our own homes(countries)love from🇹🇿🇹🇿🇹🇿🇹🇿
There is something about her smile that’s still magic...even after all she’s been through. The African spirit is so enduring, forgiving and accommodating. The major difference between us and other races.
Am in Italy studying but how I wish I could go home today. I can now appreciate my Africa richness. My appeal goes to our governments to better our countries for us all.
This lady is talented.... naturally high IQ...She is good at narrating events. The best i have ever heard...she will make a good motivational speaker or teacher.
I'm from Brasil i came here to help my family it's not easy at all God bless you girl ...i feel your pain... Brasilian loves african people we are all brother and sisters...
I apologize for butting in but I have been intrigued by Brazil since I was a child. I have been thinking about leaving the United States. Can I ask you is Brazil a nice pace to live ?

wÖw what a story! thank you for being real for being transparent, authentic!! that is the only element that touches people’s hearts.... everyone has a story but not everyone has the courage and strength to share it. Thank you queen you’ve earned your crown of wisdom 💝
I totally agree. Omg! She has the courage and confidence to be truthful. God bless her. Everyone of us do have skeletons in our closets. Many of us have walked the same pathway. Ashamed of what we do to survive. She has given me the inspiration to write my own story. The greatest person we can be is to speak the truth about who we really are. 🤙🏾🤙🏾🤙🏾
She's such a good storyteller. It's so weird how grace works like you can be at the bottom of the barrel but God's grace always finds you & it dusts you up to continue with the fight.
Me too. Like I love her English, expression. I have listened to this video so many times. Wish she realizes her book writing and story narration skills and talent.
Dear beautiful african queen thank you for sharing your life joinery in America with us yes the believe and understanding of every african child about America is exactly what you had imagined what life will be like in America when you left Kenya. Thank you so much this was upselutely an eye opener for most of us who are so eager to go abroad apparently "better our lives". You could have died through all that hardship but God had a plan for you to come back and give us your fellow african brothers and sisters about the real life abroad much appreciated my god bless you sis.
What a human! What a lady! What unbreakable spirit. Your story should be made into a movie. The best part of this whole thing is you're still smiling. Keep shining sister. Much love from ethiopia 🇪🇹.
I realized how heaven Africa was when I came to America😢 I thought America was better than Africa but I was lying to my self InshAllah I will be back to Mama Africa soon
And vice versa. As an American all the countries I have visited, none of them compare to America because that is my home. When I was abroad I yearned for America. Sure, other places were nice but there is no place like home.
I’m a Zimbabwean based in China and I’ve honestly seen Nigerians here hold each other down HARD!!! It’s not only in America but here too... NIGERIAN’S UNITY I TRULLY ADMIRE, I hope the rest of Africa could be that amazing ❤️🇳🇬 love from a Zimbabwean 🙌🏾
Very true. Nigerians hold each other down really well and they help other africans too especially ghanaians when abroad. I have a ghanaian friend staying abroad. She didn't have anywhere to stay. A nigerian girl she didn't know is housing her for free. Good thing is they are the same age and both in America for studies. Plus the house is owned by the Nigerian's girl's father. She's living there for free. And they get along well.
I don't know how this got recommended to me but omg, wow..watched the whole thing. This is both eye-opening and horrifying. But can I just say, she is very strong to have gone through all that and come out sane, on the other side.
Just my two cents after watching Mercy's experience: - For those who would love to relocate- It is important for one to do a lot of RESEARCH before you relocate abroad. - Second to this: KEEP THE MAIN THING THE MAIN THING. You can pursue everything else you want after you have fullfiled your visa conditions. Otherwise, you will be in breach real quick. Even international students who have had to bypass the law to pay the outrageous fees...stay in school at all costs - well, most of them at least. - Thirdly it is important to CHECK YOUR EXPECTATIONS. It is important to take full accountability for yourself. Act as if everyone who can support you is dead and work with that mindset, because even people of goodwill will only go so far with the help. - ESTABLISH YOURSELF FIRST, settle or stabilize before you can extend help to those back at home. Eg during a plane emergency, you will need to wear an oxygen mask first, before you can help your own child or others. People back at home have survived thus far, a little while longer will not mean their demise. Make it clear and put boundaries- otherwise you may end up stressed, have mental health issues or be pulled in so many different directions to sustain these demands. - KEEP YOUR FRIENSHIP CIRLES CLOSE as well. Too many acquaintances can lead you down different paths. Align yourself with people who will help you cross the bridge and build yourself first. - GROW SLOW AND STEADY- people who have what you want or are where you want to be, have travelled a long way before you; you have just met them in their season of success and abundance. - WHEN YOU MAKE MISTAKES, LEARN THE LESSON QUICKLY AND RECALCULATE. When your abroad, going back to the same thing may not only cost you time and resources, it can affect your status too. - Always TAKE OWNERSHIP of your role in every decision, circumstance or action that involves you...this is the only way to learn and know how or what to do better. - Finally, ATTITUDE is key. Just like Kenny Rogers says; you got to know when to hold up, know when to walk away and know when to run. You will face hardships, micro- aggressions, overt racism among many other things but not always. That said, you need to use a lot of discretionary wisdom to not always respond or get into the habit of reactionary responses. Always remember, you will never have the comfort of being above the law or leniency extended to residents or citizens. Therefore keep your wits about you. All the best Mercy in your new journey

Giiiirl, bless you. Your story is heart wrenching but in turn, the amount of hope in your spirit is unparalleled. I love how you can look back and laugh at your innocence. You have a very real and true vibe. IDK how I ended up at this videos but Im glad I did. I feel a connection to you thru your story. I hope you know that you are a star & that force which drove you, took you thru some painful experience but, without them you wouldn't have this insightful story to connect you with the world. Thank you for sharing so humbly and openly. I hope this leads to some kind reform so that humans are no longer used and abused. Atleast contribute to the solution.
Hi Mercy, I came upon your story by chance and I could not dismiss it. I had to hear it all. In all of this, whether you believe it or not, God protected you. He still has plans for your life. May He continue to watch over the lives of all of you.
She is under 30 and had already gone through all these in life, so her major problem was traveling to America at a tender age, many that went there at a young age also ended up like this because they were so young and had no one to care for them and direct them towards the right direction, and many men will see it as an opportunity to take advantage of them, but thanks be to God that she is alive and when there is life, there is always hope. This is a big lesson to you parents that want to send your young one to America to go and study, allow your kids to finish university in Africa and then they can go abroad to do their Masters Degree when they are already matured and cannot be easily deceived by anyone that wants to lead them towards a wrong direction.
I was born in Africa i came to America when I was 14 actually America it not what it seem to be there are real hardship and poverty out here to much labor jobs that why lotta people turn to the streets life
WOW! I watched it all... You are a strong woman! I admire your resilience in life. I must apologize for your mishaps in the US. May you flourish in life!
Thank you Mercy for being candid. I truly empathize with your adverse experience in the US. For dreamers, my advice is first to find a mature relative or friend who lives in the diaspora before you get there. These will provide the needed mentoring for the young scholar. And when you get here, listen, focus and be resilient. What I have observed over the years living in the US, is that students who come here as freshmen, find it harder to adjust compared to those that come here to pursue graduate education. I think it is because graduate students are more likely to be experienced, mature and wiser. What is more, graduate students are more likely to get a scholarship or job as teaching/research assistants (TAs/RAs) at the universities. Therefore, unless you have resources to finance your education as a freshman in North America or Europe, my counsel is that you should postpone your coming until you have earned a baccalaureate in your country of origin. When you get here, find where your people are, and link with them; Don’t isolate yourself. You will do better that way. Mercy, we serve a personal God who hears our prayers. When we speak with a believing heart, he hears; And before we call, he answers. Sometimes, God uses adversity to strengthen us. I know things will get better for you. Please keep the faith!
Some Kenyans do not want to associate themselves with you especially if you mention you haven’t been here for long. I have personally gone through that myself I believe if someone has a helping sincere heart they will help or just guide. There’s times when all you need is direction not just financial help. Abd America has toughened people until they careless about anyone else around them. I can’t tell you how I cried watching her story because I have a few similarities here right now related to her story. Unfortunately mine is involving kids God bless her for sharing her story
Life has dealt you blow after blow at such a young age. What happened to you could happen to anyone. However you have always picked yourself up and moved on courageously. This video could inspire many out there who have been blessed with more and yet complain and give up on themselves and life so easily. Cheers To you, a woman of substance ‼️
Mercy, you are a survivor, a conqueror. I'm crying!!! You are strong. Yes, witchcraft exists. All these misfortunes happened because they saw your star and wanted to destroy it but MERCY said no. I'm Happy for you to live to tell your story
The saddest part is that from the moment she got to the US in the first place she was harassed, taken advantage of, and treated as less than. She was a student seeking an education and better life....
I love you because you are beautiful and very honest. You were not very informed while in America which is sad. we are Kenyans here in America and we are very successful no regrets and we are coming back to kenya stronger and improving our communities.
There’s is always a second chance as long as you’re still breathing. Great message for people like me who believe that learning is a continuous process
And that is why I am sad when I see African women advocating that our mothers should leave like western women. African women are some of the most hardworking on earth. They are strong. They are the backbone of our society. In most of our towns and villages in Yorubaland, the women form thrift cooperative societies where they contribute money and support each other's businesses. I saw a 2018 Brooking Institution report that indicated an average working adult in the US will have to borrow if they have a $400 emergency. But I can tell you an average market woman in Mile 12, Lagos Nigeria or Bodija, Ibadan (also in Nigeria) can COMFORTABLY afford that. Let's learn to be original and appreciate our heritage.

@@memyself5412 We African women have to be strong because our men & our governments have failed in providing for & in protecting the welfare of the women & children 😢. And they continue to fail. That's the difference between Africa and the West.
@@estahadassah9470 African government failed in providing for women welfare? African produced her first female Head of State in 70s while the US is to provide none. Great story Sister. This is your west African brother from Minnesota and you're so right. The racism is still here even after we protested so hard for George Floyd's victory its even getting worse now. I also think its time for us Africans to build the motherlsnd for our selves snd love, protect each other. Even with a higher degree I am still treated like crap in America whiles a white person who does not have a degree for thesame job is respected, and control you the qualified black person at the job. There are blacks and other minorities here who suppurt this racism and help make it possible due other opportunities and also because they are scared.

America has all the opportunities but the first 3-5 yrs is not gonna be smooth ,it takes resilience and patience, the problem is when you come here today and want to be rich tomorrow, you’ll be frustrated. You’ll never find a place like America,it’s the only place you can be anything you want.It just needs patience and a little time .Like someone said leave your pride in Kenya and come start from somewhere here
May God Bless Her. Quite a story. She has quite a spirit. I know it's not easy in Africa if you don't come from a well off family. However, if you have a bit of funds to start something, you are better off there in Africa. Racism/injustice is rife abroad. It is soul destroying. It is life destroying, traumatic and not something to joke about. Why trade freedom if you can set up something small and have a normal life in a peaceful environment? You can go to experience and settle where you don't question the colour of your skin. Life abroad is not what it looks in the movies.

I am a child of a Luo-Abasuba polygamous family - also SDA like Mercy - and I can see her life happening just like a movie. I am lucky to be the child of the first wife who went to school and so all my full siblings are college-educated - the hard way coz we come from a poor family, but we all have a college education. The children of my second mum - who is also my mum's cousin on the maternal side - all dropped out of primary school and ran away to get married young. The neglect of my half-siblings by my dad is just too painful to watch. The third wife only has one child who is older than my mom's children - she also dropped out of primary school to get married. I remember my mom one time angrily saying if it were not for her, we would not have gotten educated, and I now see the truth. I now hear my dad - who is now retired - trotting around the village with pride that he educated his children, that he is now a respected village elder, and I shudder. Coz my memory of my childhood is just pure chaos and C-PTSD to the extent that now at 40yrsold, I realize that I need serious therapy - my life could have ended up being like this girls. It still has the potential to, if I don't take care and keep myself grounded. My 20s and 30s were chaotic - when you don't have stability at home and have parents who are not keen on holding your hand as you navigate young adulthood, then you can land into serious chaos. This world is not kind. When polygamous husbands and their wives are only concerned about their jealousy, warfare and internal competition, all they do is destroy their own children, and this girl's story is a good example. Other people you meet on the way can also smell your childhood neglect from a km away and only God can keep you safe under His arms otherwise you end up a high-end prostitute, and people do end up that way. Polygamy is not for everyone, and this girl is the poster child for the mess that is polygamy. And the poster child for Daddy Issues. Daddy Neglect. You can imagine that when she was getting the letter to go to the States - as a naive 18yr teenager from Alego who had never gone to Nairobi - her father was still alive. We don't hear of the father even advising or holding her hand to go to the immigration, get a passport, etc. She didn't even know what to do or what papers she needed in order to travel. She had to fundraise her own transport to Nairobi, imagine. Where was the dad??? Her father didn't even help her with the initial research - even though he is old, he knows people in the village who have gone to the USA, who could have helped her and held her hand through the process. There are many Luos from Siaya and Kisumu who have gone to the States for Academics/Work etc, and if the father had done his duty to his teenage girl, her story would have been so different. She might not have gone to that SDA school in the first place. Parental support is very important to young adults, and in polygamous families, it's often just chaos and chaos and non-ending competition. It's the way I hear Akuku Danger the comedian joking about his family's woes that just makes me sigh. Men. Men, Men! How many times did I call you??? Stop marrying many women and getting children you cannot support.
Sure, if you're only around your ppl you realize you are not like everybody else, as soon as you belong to a minority. Honestly, what do ppl think America is?!? A land of milk and honey? Who tells such fairy tales? And so many women from poorer countries seem to have "find a rich white man" on top of their goals list.
@@alg5169 my existence is not based on the perception others have of me. You commit yourself to misery with that kind of mindset. The reason you have for why Africa keeps being exploited is very simplistic, superficial and is actually misinformation. It’s crazy only with black people is it expected for accountability to be taken when we are the victims.
Thanks for sharing your story. In Africa, not everyone will share their stories like yours. Thanks for making us know the realities of life in the USA.

When she said "I never thought I was black, I thought I was human" that deeply resonated. People who grow up in Africa and then move usually face this struggle and confusion when we first start experiencing racism. It's a whole new world and I think no one ever really prepares us for that side of things and how we're supposed to handle such situations

Somehow i thought you guys would do better than people who've migrated but I completely understand. I think one of the things I really regret was not reporting people who'd openly be racist to me at school. At the time I thought it was just unprovoked mean people but as I grew I recognised that those people were racist and by not reporting them, they got away with such comments. I remember a girl who i thought was my friend say "you and I will never be equal because your ancestors were slaves"

Wow am a Canadian am so sorry to what life has dealt you. But boy you are such a good spirit! Able to laugh and smile behind the pain. I pray that all works out for you. Your story is so true about racism. Good for you to always pushing forward.
Her story is incredible, she deserves to share her documentary on Netflix. She is absolutely right America is not the heaven we imagine to be .I am a testimony I studied law in CUEA and came to the US and the best job that I can find is a preschool teacher because I have an infant and a toddler and I can’t afford daycare to look for a better job so I have to settle for less and it’s depressing.I am planning on moving back to Kenya in the near future 💔💔💔
Is it the infant or the system that has caused you not to get the right job? Am told in America or Europe getting a white color job as an African is not easy. Perhaps you will do better back at home or change your career if you are a US citizen - its cheaper.
You know very well that you can’t practice law in the US with a degree from Kenya. You should have gone to law school in America. Again there are so many other well paying jobs.
Hang in there. For most people things do get better with time. As the kids grow and you consider alternate career options or rebuild your law career in America, things will improve. I know bankers, teachers, accountants, hair dressers who have reinvented themselves here out of neccessity and they're doing just fine.
You made my 14 year old shed tears but one thing I know is if God was with you in America and carried you through and brought you this far,,, obviously he will fulfill your destiny,, (Destiny can be delayed but cannot be denied)
True. It is tough in America. Sometimes I worked 80 hours a week in nursing home. You wash their shit with no gloves. The white nurses said it was humiliating for the old people to clean their shit while wearing gloves.

I heard a story of an African brother a few years ago in Ohio. He left his wife and 5 kids back home. When he got to the US, he started working 4 jobs to sponsor his family to America. He wasn't sleeping anymore. He was driving home one time, he fell asleep behind the wheel, a truck t-boned him by the intersection. Then, he died... The American dream is a myth!
It actually comes true for a lot, I would say, at least the basics. If that dream comes true ever anywhere, it’s in the US. Not to downplay the negative stories like these but it doesn’t have to be this way at all.
These are the realities of life that no one tells us about. Sadly, some never get to live to tell their own stories. Mercy, you are the voice for young women with dreams but no one to support them. Keep being a great inspiration!
Such a sad story told with so much grace, humor. What a hopeful soul!!! May God heal & restore her heart! There’s so much pain in that beautiful smilie, but God heals. It’s beautiful to see how hopeful she is. The ending broke my heart alittle, not gonna lie. 🙏🏽

Do not do what she did! White men are not that rich like she thought. Many are poor. I am here in the US. I See that.
Wow! She has so many lessons in this one interview..
1. "Never pretend to be okay when you are stuck and need help"
2. "Be focused on one goal"
Yes very profound

She is too real, open & humorous. She leaves no stretch for imagination. Great storyteller...
Just my two cents after watching Mercy's experience:
- For those who would love to relocate- It is important for one to do a lot of RESEARCH before you relocate abroad.

African women are the strongest, we never give up and hardships dont break us, am so happy u survived to tell your story sister ❤️❤️❤️

Her whole story sounds like a movie, my goodness she is a strong lady, have been wanting to go abroad but this is like the 10th scaring story I'm hearing and I fear for my life # Motherland still the best. May the Lord bless you and may your kids never ever lack
@@blessedsuccessful I agree with you. America is land of laws and rules, to be successful you need to be very patient and work hard.

@@blessedsuccessful hmm...I think it seems like land of opportunity because if for eg you're a high school drop out u can still get a job unlike our country/island where u need to be educated...I think it's a place to come work save and go home otherwise at the end u will be over worked stressed and end up in their nursing home which is horrible.
This is absolutely touching. The fact that you survived all to tell the story means that God loves you and He's not done with you. Please get Jesus now!

Experienced the worst racism in my life! I will not live in the South! I am no longer an seventh day Adventist! Yes immigration department did shut that program down! The SDA faith did not do this. Ungodly people who did not care did this. I hope she finds her way back to her faith.
@Masada Ta'nisi There are no white european religions. You are full of hate, living in past historical stories, before white colonized & enslaved Africans, there was Arabian enslavement that did not allow african men to procreate & killed blacks in millions.

You’ve got to. No other option , there’s no guarantee that they people you’re breaking your back for will be able to assist you when you need it. True.... this is a very elaborate version compared to all the other interviews.
👏🏽very well explained and very well understood!😢😢 so sad!😰
May it be well with you. This girl had passed well. If she had proper guidance she would be a professional in the USA. Earning big money

Its one of the best videos Ive seen on youtube. Talk about going through war but this lady went through alot worse a real veteran.
When she said "I never thought I was black, I thought I was human" that deeply resonated. People who grow up in Africa and then move usually face this struggle and confusion when we first start experiencing racism. It's a whole new world and I think no one ever really prepares us for that side of things and how we're supposed to handle such situations
We are not that innocent. We may not have racism but we have tribalism .Look what happened in Rwanda ???

Vumilia, Mexicans go to America they don't know English, they don't have papers.
It takes time, once you get uraia things will work well.
