I think this is my favorite take on the "What if Gohan kept training" question because it doesn't just make him Goku 2 and still keeps his desire to be a scholar with the book being written over the course of the story
Honestly, I really liked this. It made Gohan train more, but navigated Gohan's character very well. Merging his intellectual side with martial arts, both in terms of making him fascinated with it and using his intelligence in the situations he finds himself in, and having him write a book on martial arts, was honestly brilliant; especially in a way that manages to get Chi-Chi on-board (lol) and enough to want to get Goku to read it. Makes you wish that Toriyama thought of something like this instead of just turning him into a joke. Obviously, this fanfic is its own thing, but Gohan could have been...much better...
This is literally a "what if Akira Toriyama got his way and made Gohan the main character after Cell".... And I love it. Well done Smug. Keep up the awesome work. L=
So far the 2 scariest what if characters I've seen: This Gohan that combined his love of being a scholar with enjoying the science of fighting (while also consistently training) And an intelligent goku raised by whis.
I still stand by the theory that Gohan was the Saiyan that Beerus saw in his Dream (it’s either him or Broly) but since he stopped training after the Cell Saga his father had to step up and fight the Lazy God.
Brohan would honestly be pretty broken I realized. Ultimate + Full Power SSJ... Both Gohan and Broly’s potentials are immense. And this Gohan is training, and Broly has also started training here as well. Like seriously, Brohan could probably be above Gogeta and Vegito.
Dude this is fucking sick, fits perfectly into the dragon ball universe as an alternate timeline, this is exactly how i would of imagined Toriama woulda wrote gohan.

That's the most perfect what if scenario of Dragon Ball I've ever heard in my life. I love the fact, that Broly in this scenario wasn't that psychodelic guy screaming *KAKAROT!* and instead trains along with Gohan and also the ending that Vegeta wishing for all universes destroyed to be restored instead of his ambitions of becoming immortal, which made him a really wholesome guy. Gohan seems to be a really smart guy in this alternative scenario and would potentially become the true hero of Dragon Ball series if that ever happened. ^_^ Brohan is the best fusion ever made! ^_^
At 8:40 the intermission screen with the music made me feel so nostalgic! It brought back so many fond memories from when I was a kid and eagerly watch every episodes!
I honestly would've preferred this than the original story already Gohan would be the most amazing main character if he was written properly, and you did a stellar job! I'm currently studying in arts, and someday I wanna draw these events in panels, this is truly an amazing what if.

He was never my favorite character once the Buu arc started, but seeing Gohan as the star in this was really cool and makes me wonder what could have been!

No. While this is awsome everytime gohan becomes the main character goku stays dead it is getting predictable goku can still be alive and well while making gohan the main character.
I've watched a lot of dragon ball what ifs from other youtubers, and I'd say the way the story is written is very good but the best part of it is the use of video game fight scenes, anime & many other sources makes the video very immersive. Great job oh creative one 👍

PERFECTION true perfection no other words can begin to describe how this what if is truly a fitting conclusion to the dbz timeline. Gohan being the MC after buu saga, him learning and continuing to become stronger, writes a book surpasses goku while passing on what he has learned to others not to mwntion giving many characters much needed development like kid trunks and goten as well as the kais and the ending was just the icing in the cake.

How about a "What If" where Mr. Satan sees footage of the Tournament of Power. Inspired by Roshi's performance, Mr. Satan wishes to be trained by Roshi. Mr. Satan is put through the same rigorous training that Goku and Krillin were as children.
1:55 I wonder if Chichi would be mad at Gohan if he studied in a hundred times Earth's normal gravity? I don't see why he couldn't do some gravity training while reading a book.
Yeah ummm Toriyama actually planned to make Gohan the main character, but due to fan backlash his editor forced him to shoehorn Goku back into things. That's why the Buu saga is such a jumbled mess. If anything blame the fans for Gohan becoming irrelevant.
Also, your tournament of power interpretation is really good. Leagues over the original. The mass production of Gohan's book would open up the whole fucking world to power levels, sending multitudes of future potential Dragon Ball stories to come. Yet, the writer's still can't grasp the potentials of expanding the DB Universe AND giving it lasting content. They can't keep up with fan stories.
