I loved having this single. It was a green cd. Loved knowing this song for so long prior to its main release. Thanks for having this available to listen to.
First time I've heard this version. Been a fan since late 2007. How could I miss this. But it's really weird how nobody noticed this song until it was out on nimrod
The general public didn't really have access to it before nimrod. The only way was to get the b-side that it came on, and no one really bought those, and usually had to be special ordered. We didn't have the internet like we have it now, so it really wasn't widely discovered until its single release on Nimrod.
@@bizzigtv4903 Yes, the "Brain Stew/Jaded" import. I had it. And I actually thought it would be the next big thing. Lo and behold, I wasn't wrong... I had a lot of Green Day import singles back in the day. "Longview" was my first.
Funny thing is I did sometimes buy cassette or CD singles from bands I liked to hear non-album tracks or live cuts. I did buy one of the "Stuck With Me" singles, but while I remember seeing the "Brain Stew/Jaded" one somewhere, I never bought it. I guess I didn't remember that one of the songs was titled "Good Riddance" when Nimrod came out.
Probably next year then! (Possibly the year after I guess, that was what happened with nimrod, and they won’t do it this year because American idiot 20 is coming out in October)
@@punkrockstormchaser They already released Insomnia 25th anniversary vinyl. The bonus disc was a load of live tracks from Prague, just before they cancelled the rest of the EU dates.
My friend said he deleted this version from his iPod because he didn't care for it as much as the other one and I was curious. I like this better. He was young, more raw and it sounds more natural plus the tempo's faster which I like.

@SlotGrinder and....?
Pretty sure this came out in 1996 and the main release was 1997. That's only a year difference
@@chrislawrence6609 Good Riddance was written since before Dookie.
A year was a long time when you were a teenager though right?! @@chrislawrence6609
I've still got the brain-shaped CD

@@TranzparentMethods I had a friend like you, had a bunch of the singles and bsides. LOVED listening to them.
@@bizzigtv4903 The B-sides from those CD singles were pretty freaking badass.

Hopefully this version pops up on Spotify for an eventual Insomniac anniversary release
@@yooitsxtrainsomniac 30 will most likely have it if they’re doing box sets for dookie they’d definitely do it with insomniac

@@MaFtMorley yeah but that was shit tbh they’ll prolly do a BOXSET for it like they did Dookie, Nimrod, and American idiot
I had this version back in 2004/5 in school. I haven’t heard this in so long
i love this version. it's so calm
It's angrier.

Plus the message of the song is MUCH more obvious!
@@killer92173 how so? The lyrics are the same
@@littleredruri this was written as a f you to his exe at the time.
@@Minecraftlover73 i mean, i got that from the nimrod version pretty easily so idk how this makes it more obvious
@@littleredruri I mean I agree. I thought you were saying "how, it does not seem obvious at all."
First time hearing this after being a lifelong Green Day fan and I think this one is better
Best version ever!
So what's unpredictable that can leave dad on trial?
I want this version played at my funeral
I had never heard this.. feeling a bad fan ): But, fuck, it's amazing
the best version
I think that this song is the Japanese version
I had it on the Irish / UK cd single.
It’s not
This is a joke about the Sonic CD final boss theme isn't it
This feels illegal
It's older than the "common" version, should be more legal
I prefer the vocals in this version but without the string accompaniment it's just not the same 😔
こっちの方が好きだったりする
I don't think this is the original.
Okay.
This is. It was released on the brain stew cd. At least a year or two before being released on nimrod.
It's older but yeah technically I guess the "original" is on Nimrod cause that's the version that plays on radio etc
@@InfiniteBeak that’s like saying the Xbox one is the original because it’s everywhere. This is the original. Period.
It was recorded during the Dookie sessions in Berkley but they didn't use it and it went out as a b side for insomniac singles
