What I think would work is for the auxiliary motto is use it as a call and response the nco or officer would yell “more fun” and the response would be “for everyone “
As a fan of military simulation in general the fact that we are finally getting more structure in this way to the auxiliary really exites me. And as I know that is not the attitude of many of the members I love your solution of keeping it open and fairly lighthearted. I look forward to fighting along side you in a couple of months
My medieval reenactor inside approves. I'm currently fluey, so I can't make it sadly, but over here in the UK the York Viking Festival is happening this weekend. Alba, the Scots contingent of Regia Anglorum are heading south without me :-(. But they're bringing 25 of the hardest and scariest Viking reenactors in the UK down to battle. Alba is almost always the last group standing. If we're not, we're piled 4 deep under the corpses of our foes. Vivat Rex! Vivat Rex! Vivat Torwulfson! Vivat Alba!
I love this. It makes me miss my time in the Army haha. I'd love to join your crew or the Auxiliary when I make it to Washington. I volunteer for Heavy Weapons and/or indirect fire.
Even though I do have an unofficial "squad" (The Gremlin Artillery Corps) under the Auxiliary, they're quite young and there's only myself and a fireteam of two Gremlins, who operate a mortar or some other form of artillery, and they aren't coming with me to any events. Also, I often take the role of a Sergeant when cobbling together squads in Prostock at my local club, guiding my team in flanking maneuvers, but they aren't official or even members of the Auxiliary in any capacity, thus, though I do operate in the capacity of a Lance-Corporal with the Gremlins or a Sergeant in the case of the VFBA, I don't feel I've earned the war experience or racked up the service record to justify being more than an AAC (Able Auxiliary Crewman), which to outsiders, is the Auxiliary equal to a private. I feel that when I've earned the promotion for advancing the cause of the Auxiliary to the Island, and have served as best I can, then the Captain or one of his officers will come to me with a promotion. And when that time comes, I will wear that promotion with pride. (Yes, this is going on the Facebook, in case anyone there wants to see my musings.)
Might I be so bold as to suggest whistle commands for getting attention? In scouts we had 3 whistle commands. 1 whistle blast means "listen up, stop what your doing, pay attention." 2 whistle blasts means "Listen up, stop what your doing, and assemble in front of whoevers in charge. " 3 whistle blasts basically means "There's a serious emergency, we need everyone to pay attention and get your game face on." With each blast you basically go up in urgency of the situation. If people are refusing to pay attention at 1 blast, then you go up to 2. 3 blasts should really only be used if there's a serious problem.
I know this has likely been brought up already, but could an optional song for the crew auxiliary be Bangarang! by Skrillex. I know it is an older song, but it fits given the battle cry and the passing of the song, at least in my opinion matches HvZ very well. I would also like to mention that I have a very large amount of respect for those that can play HvZ with military discipline, but that has never been my style. I have always relied on smaller squads, with little to no established leadership, and more free-flowing nature.
Excellent. We use Feral Squads in several capacities. Beserkers, Shock Troops, Flankers, Skirmishers. In general, "I need that target destroyed...go destroy it!" type roles. Very little structure and finesse. Great for those with little training or little interest in training. :P
I need a helmet with Vos Volo Bellum Vos Adepto Bellum on the front and Lasciate ogne speranza, voi ch'intrate, on the back, because that's what it supposedly says above the gates of hell, and anyone behind me needs to know I'm about to march strait into hell.
I like portraying an NCO in the Auxillary, I have acted as a Corporal in the Captain’s absence at JEBB 5-6 and I act as the leader (sergeant) of Bishop Squad at HvZs.
I'm back baby!!! You probably don't remember me, we had a massive conversation through the comments, hope u still have notifs for ur comments, I got a new phone so I wasn't active for a few months, and I love ur new content, it is much better, (no offense lol) that your older stuff
In reference to out of game issues, you should use the fist on the forehead or "unicorn horn" to indicate an out of game conversation. It's kind of like a safe-word but for LARP.
Would it be okay if I brought my own mini crew? I have a group of 5 guys who like to do what you guys do but the guys usually don't listen well to others
Absolutely. We are a loose confederation of fighters, not a regular army. So one form of Auxiliary participation is Allies to the Crew. Existing squads are more than welcome. The existing squads structure will be honored. You are free to run your squad as it is just under to larger command structure of the Auxiliary.
But to answer the question, no of course not, no army ever solutes in the field. You have better things to be doing...like fighting. Imagine what would happen if everyone just always stood around saluting me constantly...
Hey Captain! Not relevant to the video, but I was wondering if you do trades? I have an old green raven that still works, and was wondering (if you do trades) if you would be willing to exchange said green raven for a rapid-fire tek, preferably with the mag? I know this is a bit of a venture but I figured it'd be worth asking. Thanks!
I am aware. I am also aware of where the rally cry came from and it is not from 40k. Were you aware that false accusations of heresy are also a capital offense?
Fair enough, please do not report me to the inquisition. Even then they most likely already know of my crimes. Also, does the crew practice proper drill movements like turns and marching in step. Do they have to keep their thumb over there hands and along the seam of their pants?
Hey Cap. I'm part of a larp called Amtgard. My branch is Linnagond part of the principallty of the Nine blades in Canada. I was curious if you would be interested if I started a branch of the axillary up here.
Just heard from foamcast and justin in Penn state last week that you will be attending the hvz invitational on April 3rd in Pennsylvania can you confirm @CaptainXavier
Hey Captain, i got a question. If my larp character is a Viking who got hit by a lighting bult from thor and sent to the future. Would I have a spot in your army? If so I would be proud to follow you into the gates of Valhalla! HAHAHAAA!!! ALSO... Funny story I want to a type of HVZ. One dude was a ww2 german soilder. He called himself bubbles. I hope to see him again.
🤣😂 latin is a weird language if you put the auxiliarys moto into Google translate one word at the time it translate to "more carrots all" thad is weird 😂😂
The only requirement to join is wanting to join. You don't have to be able to attend an event I am at. You can join the Auxiliary and attend your own local events as Auxiliary.
I'm not usually into para-milsim. But there is only one captain I will die for.
So impressed with Nick's commitment to stand at attention the entire time.
Your dabbing salute was magnificent my friend
I like your salute more than the captain’s
What I think would work is for the auxiliary motto is use it as a call and response the nco or officer would yell “more fun” and the response would be “for everyone “
You totally missed out on having us reply "Aye, aye! Captain!"
But either way, super excited and I will not fail you, Captain! Notes are being taken

Not a problem, just be aware we may not salute back properly as most of us have no idea how to...

Bangarang indeed, and the moto brought a tear to my eye :')
The video for Skrillex's "Bangarang" makes so much more sense all of a sudden.
Nice use of Latin! I’m an 8th Grade student at a private school and have been learning Latin since 4th grade. I love it!

Sign me up for that, I'm always down for the baserker style of game play.

On a different note, I'm making 3 thunderhawk shotguns. What would you recommend for a color scheme and would you like one?

How do you guys do inter squad communications? Is there a designated radio operator or do sergeants have that?
We are working on standardizing radio coms.
Is Tyr/the mini gun going to rein in End War
I what to see a Shield that catches darts through a hopper that is implemented in to the shield and then gets refired.
I know... But it would be cool right?
So for Sargent would reference of sarge
Yes, Sarge is fine.
hey captain have you heard about the new mandalorian starwars show
Yup
Do we salute in the field? Cus i would worry that it would put a target on an officer.
...do you think people are somehow not going to recognize me? I kinda stand out...
