    Sauti Sol is probably the best group Africa have. They just amazing.

    Seen them live twice, among the best live performers in East Africa. The style of music they did on this song is a cross between rhumba (an 80's and early 90's African genre, still have some people doing it) and trap. I'd simply call it rhuap. I'd say rhuap is the new genre among groups in Kenya. Try reacting to Wanavokali (Kenyan group) song is called Rhumba.

      Rhumba japani is a tribute to a band called rhumba japani from Congo they did an interview on this. The band had a lot of influence in their early days

    I think the Karate thing is because Karate is a Japanese art and according to the title of the song it says *"Rhumba Japani"* which I think is slang for *"Japanese vibes."*

    well This song is all about the milliard of diversity in a society. It is a celebration and critic of the people of Kenya and world in general. It mentions different neighbor hoods in Nairobi and regions in Kenya and then different mainly politicians and the gov vis a vis the majority poor. And then the 'Karate' thing is a symbolic theme of the underlying struggle amongst those different groups(In a patient pace and understanding) that is why Japan is referenced for obvious reasons... At least that is my interpretation as a Kenyan.
