- STC eli Scandinavian Trucks Challenge järjesti työssä olevien kuorma-autojen kiihdytyskilpailun Kauhavan lentokentällä 21.10.2017 . Kentän ja kasarmialueen omistaa nykyään LSK Business Park Oy. Alue tarjosi loistavat mahdollisuudet raskaankaluston ammattilaisten kohtaamispaikaksi näin kilpailun merkeissä.
Kilpailuun sai siis osallistua tieliikenteeseen katsastetulla kuorma-autolla, jossa on katsastus ja vakuutus voimassa. Tästä poikkeuksena esimerkiksi amerikkalaiset tai muut vastaavat harrasteautot. Siirto-/koekilvet ja voimassa oleva liikennevakuutus riittää, jos auto on katsastuskunnossa. Kilpailun järjestäjällä on oikeus estää kilpaileminen, jos todetaan puutteita turvallisuudessa.
Itse kilpailu toteutettiin kiihdytysajoista tutulla tavalla. Matkana 1000 jalkaa eli reilu 300 metriä ja parilähtönä ajetaan. Suurin ero tavallisiin "street race" kilpailuihin on se, että nyt kiihdytetään kuorma päällä. Painoa täysperävaunu- luokissa 60 tonnia ja puoliperävaunuluokissa 44 tonnia. Eli niin sanotut "vanhat massat"
Kaikilla kilpailijoilla kaksi suoritusta ja jokaisen luokan 4 parasta etenee välieriin ja mahdolliseen finaaliin. Reaktioaikoja ei oteta. Vain loppuaika aika ratkaisee. Eli vaikka parilähtönä ajetaan niin aika lähtee juoksemaan vasta kun auto liikkuu.
Järjestäjällä oli paikanpäällä puoliperävaunuja ja täysperävaunuja. Täysperävaunut on painotettu joko 34tn (3-akseliset autot) tai 28tn (4-akseliset) mukaan. Myös b-juna olisi tarkoitus saada käyttöön jolloin puoliperävaunut voivat osallistua myös 60tn luokkaan niin halutessaan.
Kilpailijat osallistuivat tapahtumaan omalla vastuullaan.
Osallistuvan ajoneuvon sääntöjenmukaisuutta epäitäessä, kilpailun järjestäjä pidättää itselleen oikeuden tarkastaa ajoneuvon niiltä osin.
Kaikki autot punnittiin ennen suoritusta.

Very impressive, imagine Coga and his 2500hp Peterbuilt b-double tearing down there lol they race up hill at the Truck Rodeo in Quebec, full on wheelies whilst spinning both rear axles of the line 👌👌👌 ( by the way that Peterbuilt beats Corvettes in solo drag races ).
Scania only goes up to 770hp but search up scania 770s fast acceleration i bet its faster than a peter

Looks like there are trailers with different weight provide by event organizer? Participate can pick up trailer according to their truck's weight to reach a certain combine weight? Because I see some interesting combination that can't see on road every day, like a dump truck tow a log trailer, a log truck tow an open top trailer that usually towed by a dump truck or hook lift truck.

Did anyone notice how much the chassis of the American makes twists compared to the European brands of trucks? And they are by no means as fast as the Scania's and Sisu's.

Well, you are looking at trucks from a very poor country with very few American trucks, I have never yet seen a fast European truck.

Some still standard, others clearly tuned, keep in mind that a stock Scania V8 today goes up to 720hp, so with just a bit of tuning 1000hp is realistic.
When I understand right what's in the video description there is also a 60 tons class for the extra long combinations, this being the road legal weight for these combinations in the European countries that allow them (Sweden, Finland and the Netherlands)

@@tomasw22 Murican? Europe owns a good part of the US market. Freightliner-Mercedes, Volvo, Mack-Volvo, Navistar (International, Western Star) 16%- MAN. You only got Peterbilt and Kenworth. And only 2 engines for OTR right now in production Cummins and Paccar.

Not spectecular, I prefer the canadian Truck Dragrace with equal weight load.
they have equal loads, just different type of trailers. For example the logger trailer and more "normal" box trailer have the same amount of load. 24 meter combinations have total weight of 60 tons and the semi trailers have 44 tons.
