It appears that youtube has once more mistaken me for a toddler so they're annoyingly disabling the comments every once in a while without telling me; if this happens then feel free to comment on my other videos to let me know because I need to turn them on again :'D

One of my friends animates on paper! It’s really easy for her because that’s how she animates but for me, (and especially others) it’s very challenging and I don’t recommend it!

This was really good, and I liked your singing of TGWDLM. The storyboard fitted the song well.
Yeah, hand drawn animation is difficult when using just a window to make the next frame. I've tried, and gave up because of joint pain. I intended to make my own lightbox to keep my costs down, but that project failed. I found out I am terrible at DIY.

Since I don’t have a drawing tablet or anything digital, I’ve ONLY been able to animate on paper. It’s been very tiring

@@galaxydeathskrill5607 The more you draw, the stronger your wrists get. I’d probably be able to draw for hours, (if not for my impatience) but if you practice drawing or write a lot (like I do) you’ll be able to draw for long periods of time.

A bold assumption from me that you aren't using a computer at the moment (I'm sure there are good programs like Krita on even that though) but at least on phones and tablets you can animate with your finger or a stylus on an app like FlipAClip or IbisPaintX. They're both free. I'd do your own research if you're truly interested, this is just from a beginner animation TH-camrs perspective. (Hope this helps a little!)

This brings back so many memories of when I used to animate traditionally by erasing/drawing every single frame on the same piece of paper with no keyframes or window/lightbox, and then editing them together in a gif maker haha!
The animation turned out really nicely as well, I can't imagine how long that much have taken to line every single frame.

Depending on your budget, the traditional way of making the panning shot is via "multi plane", where each cell or drawing is put onto stacked glass panes, and each pane is moved around to create a sense of depth. You could try get acrylic panes, and legos or stacking cups

  • @nocturne318
    @nocturne318 ปีที่แล้ว

Animating on paper is apart of traditional animation, it was commonly used on the animation industry before computers were came in scene. The paper wasn't used but rather using cel sheets (paper but transparent) and trace-painting the animation papers by outline first to then color, backgrounds were normal paper in which did well for the old animators before.
There are traditonal animation techniques, one common way without onion skinning is by flipping and rolling. Using your 3 fingers, one finger for the current frame, previous and next frame that lets you visualize it.
At least you did good along with paper animation, although it was limited for your standards. (Why did I type for this comment :/)

I'm too unfamiliar with digital art to animate, and need so much more practice and general technical knowledge before I try making a full animation and not just one movement or slightly moving drawings, so seeing that animating on paper is a thing and is possible is actually really encouraging! :D
I have a lot of ideas for fun animatics, so I'll definitely be trying this. I still really want to learn how to animate digitally, but this seems like a good alternative to just get my ideas out for now :]

I tried animating on paper last week with my only animation experience being with my finger on an iPhone 7. I made key frames then used tracing paper to do them again but erasing parts to draw them differently so that some parts stayed still and some moved. Most of my drawings I actually really liked and they lined up well, but what went totally wrong was that I have no computer so to put the animation together I took pictures of the frames with my phone and put them in FlipaClip... I was not satisfied with the end result but I think if I had had better technology to put my drawings into it would have turned out really nice.

Actually had to try animating on paper once due to the fact that I don’t have a tablet/stylus and can’t consistently draw/animate digitally, plus I have a lot more experience on traditional art. It was so hard having no access to symbols, a move tool, and of course, ctrl+z. However, the only saving grace for me was drawing really hard on the paper so I could see the imprint from the last frame.

Okay, I have never animated-but I can't draw on computer lol. It's because I don't have the right tools for it-and I don't think I would be good at it anyways. (As long as I don't like-draw on computer [or whatever you draw on] every single day- or just much, idk) So I draw on paper. So I'm pretty excited to see this video.
edit: buut I don't use markers lol. I usually just have a pen and a-what's it called in English? Eraser? Well, anyways, I usually only use those, and sometimes I color the pictures.
