    This the best demo by far, the one that made me send back the Yamaha YC and purchase this one. I played and hauled a B3 and Leslie, Fender Rhodes, Mini mood, for years,glad to finally get a Hammond that can do it all.

  • @organeu

    I love the Hammond organ, I own several vintage tonewheels L and M. There I must admit that I am amazed, it is incredible the work that the Hammond Engineers have done. I've listened to copies of it, none of it achieves such sonic realism, the sound of the mythical B3 is there, really to fool the best expert, but I also think it's imperative (on stage live) to have a Leslie cabinet. Beyond the perfect magical Hammond sounds, the synth section is amazing. The pianos are also breathtakingly realistic. I would have difficulty playing the piano without a heavy touch, but many musicians can do it easily. In conclusion, a more than impressive keyboard organ synth. Don't buy clones from other brands if you're lover of the Hammond, it will reward the tremendous hard work Suzuki Engineers have done, years of research and development with famous organ players, and a result that lives up to the prestigious brand HAMMOND. What is regrettable and revolting is that the manufacture is Chinese.

    I’m looking at upgrading my rig & was looking initially at the Nord Piano 5 or the Stage 3. Then looked at the Fantom (far too heavy) quickly followed by the Modx. I was convinced the Modx was the solution but then stumbled upon this video which I’ve watched a number of times now. I am now sold on the SK Pro as the right keyboard for me as needed to ensure it had decent pad sounds as well as some mono lead sounds on top of what are the best organ sounds I’ve heard on any instrument. Layering & being able to split in several parts ticks the box big time for me. I’m hopeful of reducing my 3 boards to 2 going forward with this beast. Thank you Tony for an excellent video. This is what sold it for me. Would be great to hear more sounds from the ensemble engine. Also you mentioned in one of your videos that you’d share some patches as well when buying. Something I’d want to take up on once ready to purchase. Well done.

    Actually one of the greatest features wasn't even mentioned here. Each of the (2) individual voices can be comprised of (4) separate waveforms for a total of 8 waves at once. Then you can edit each of the waves with filters and envelopes and offsets etc. Make a whole band just using one voice. Powerful more then was advertised.

    • @Notmehimorthem
      @Notmehimorthem ปีที่แล้ว

      Could you expalin this please? Wave forms? Are you talking about the synth?

    • @davlippo7
      @davlippo7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@Notmehimorthem A waveform is a set of samples of an instrument across the range of the keyboard. So that might be a piano. So you can combine a piano, a string, a synth and a pad into one voice and save that as your custom single voice. Thus it's made up of (4) internal instruments but only occupies a single voice slot. Most stage boards can only play (3) internal instruments at once but with SKpro you can have (2) made up of 4 each making 8 plus the organ and monosynth for 10 instruments playing at once as opposed to only 3.

      I don’t care

    • @davlippo7
      @davlippo7 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@MohammedElSanousi You don't care because you only play one voice at once so it doesn't matter or you only play the organ? It's like buying a Lamborghini but only driving 30mph. You can do it but aren't you curious to see how fast it can really go or to at least have the knowledge of what it can do? IF you MIDI loop using a jumper cable you can probably play two organs at once layered. I do that on Yamahas all the time but haven't tried it on a Hammond. You're faking out the unit to think it's receiving/sending a second MIDI controller signal when it's really just receiving its own external signal back to itself.

    I've been using an older XK3 for several years and have been quite delighted with it. However I have to piggyback two other keyboards to it just to get the variety of sounds I need. The SK Pro is an eye opener for me. Maybe it's time to move up.

      That was me several years ago. I had to lug over 200lbs of keys and cases to gigs. I got tired of it and swapped to a Korg Kronos. Sounds great for what it is, but I feel I lost a bit of quality on the switch. That's officially going on Reverb and I am going to get myself one of these!

      I used a x50 korg as a controller and play the Crumar Mojo as Standalone ... The Organ is the Best keyboard clav, and the EP sounds perfect!!! I have a SkX but since this whole pandemic thing it's been sitting in the garage for ages now collecting dust inside of its case I find that the small setup works for me and it only takes me 2 minutes to terror down and set up.... Hammond let's get a closer look at performance than features and PRICE .... ______ Who's the target 🎯 market here?

    If I'm not going to use the synth at all (I play 80% organ, 20% piano/EP in my blues band) is the SKPro worth 2X the SK-1 to me (recreational gigging level)? Also how does the XK-4 compare to the SK Pro? Wondering if I'm better off just getting the XK-4 for the organ and continuing to carry 2 boards to gigs (Numa Compact 2X for piano/ep)

    Hi Tony
    I love your playing and very helpful TH-cam videos on keyboard gear.Because of your great reviews and I have just purchased a Hammond SKPro 73.
    I am a keyboard player from Sydney in Australia.
    Would it be possible to place a request for in the future to make a tutorial video on how to edit the SKPro to make User patches and combinations.
    It does seem a little convoluted to make specific edits e.g to make individual edits to organ sounds specific to certain tunes e.g Greg Rolie type B3 patches to emulate tunes like e.g Evil Ways, Oye Como Va, etc and the distinction between Patches, Combination and Bundles and any help that you offer would be most appreciated for newbie SKPro users.
    I am a member of the Facebook User Group for hammond SKPro users and this seems to be common question asked.
    Thanks again for your great reviews and willingness to share your expert knowledge in the keyboard realm.
    Regards and greetings from Downunder!
    Keep well in these troubling and testing times

    Is The Hammond SK Pro worth $600.00 Dollars more than the Hammond SK1 In your opinion? Please let me know I need to buy Soon for Gig!! thanks

    Hi. At :27 you split the video screen into parts you’re playing. I know the SK has the audio in, but is there a way to add the “looping” live or is that just multi-performance recording?

    Sounds great! Only one EP program? That's a real deal breaker. Not too many songs in any repertoire I've played with bands has a lot of spacey synth sounds in it. Organs sound great as do the acoustic pianos.
    Seems if there were a good selection of EPs, we would have heard more than a snippet of one.
    With hardly any Rhodes or Wurlitzer sounds, it leaves out a whole lot of jazz, rock & fusion songs in any band I've been with. For $3G, what gives?

      @@jamesmabugu7899 Yes, but neither does my Roland or Hammond. I don't need that capability, so to answer your question, this is a superb all-in-one board for the gigging muso. The only thing I might miss a bit is the fully weighted piano keys.

    Nice demo, would like to try one! Organ sounds great, but the rest don’t quite measure up to the Nords for me, the Ep’s and piano are a bit artificial sounding. If it was priced right, it would definitely be a good contender for the Nord electro

      Maybe you should reconsider your statement. Side by side comparison shows the Nord to be the one lacking.
