The oneness of Edo must be preserved. We must not allow politicians to destroy it. I am Esan but I was born in Benin where I also grew up. I know there is a strong cultural affinity between Esan and the Binis, the reason the Oba of Benin is seen as the father of all, from Esan up to Etsako.

Edo people have always been united. We should never allow the politicians to cause division amongs us. Growing up, I never saw any diference among the Bini, Esan, Ora, and Etsako people. We all in some way trace our source to Bini.
While I would wish that access to power should never be based on regional rotation. However, the reality of our politics is such that we devise unique ways to ensure inclusivity and a sense of belonging for all the districts of the state.
Edo North has had their time as holder of governorship power. Edo South is there now. The logical and ideal thing now is for power to shift to Edo central in the next dispensation. This will not discount the question of merit in the leadership recruitment in the state as Edo central, like other senatorial districts, have capable hands and highly qualified people to be made a governor.
We love governor Obaseki, you are only a hungry and angry person mr Osifo. You don’t have any good arguments.

I'm watching this 7 months after this video was aired and coming to see that Hon. Osifo predicted what is presently the situation in Edo state today, March 10, 2024, is mind-boggling. Hon. Osifo wasn't just speaking from a point of anguish but absolutely expressing genuine concern. He was telling the truth, and his prediction about Rt. Hon. Philip Shaibu and Governor Obaseki was absolutely correct.

This Washington Osifo's dullness has forgotten that Obaseki is not the first Governor not to exercise his right of who to support. Oshiomhole had a deputy who was interested in succeeding him, but Oshiomhole did not support him. Heaven did not fall. When Obaseki used Phillip to fight Oshiomhole, Oshiomhole fought back using his influence in the APC to disqualify him from contesting for second term. Obaseki had to leave for another party and Edo people decided who their Governor will be. Oshiomhole went to Aso Rock also to use Lions and Tigers to rig elections but failed. Every one of them fought "gallantly" using all orthodox and unorthodox methods. Stop gloating over where you failed. Obaseki went to court and nullified the reasons he was disqualified from his LYING APC. Get over it and allow politicians to play their politics. Play your own and leave all these lies
