"For less than the cost of a Big Mac, fries and a Coke, you can buy a loaf of fresh bread and some good cheese or roast beef, which you will enjoy much more." -Steve Albini
Words of wisdom from a talented man. RIP
Reminds me of the Warren Zevon quote, "Enjoy every sandwich."
That’s a great quote to be remember by ha
He was a big fan of covid and all the safety measures. Doctors seem baffled about what's causing all of these gosh darn heart attaaghxs
@@DR-nw7xni know several doctors and none of them have any confusion. They just say it's the stress of the lockdowns

This is a sad day. He will truly be missed. RIP Steve 😢
Pearl Jam: Waiting For Stevie ❤🙏🌈😌
I'm subscribed to his youtube channel. He's been one of the key figures explaining analogue recording techniques to the current generation (personally answered on of my questions about tape speeds). I really hope his family can keep the studio going. RIP to the one of the most important people to sit behind a recording desk
Songs about ****ing is one of my favorite albums, I will play it loud today.
Thank you friend
Fish Fry!
Songs About F***ing Kids, amirite?
yeah me too, that album is eternal.
Nobody enjoys RAPEMAN ?
A talented man, musician, producer. I will miss you friend. Thank you for being born and embracing your call. We love you. Rest in peace legend
RIP Steve Albini, you seemed like a nice guy when I met you after seeing Shellac in 2016
RIP Steve! Thanks for all the great albums and laughter.
I'll be lucky if I don't bust out crying
That literally made me tear up, man
This is like a slap in the face
This is like an amputation
God damn this is real
You will
Rip Stephen Albini, you will be missed
A good guy. Way too early. I met him once, sat in and participated a little on an interview. He was totally focused, took us seriously, polite, intelligent, patient, open. He had qualities of authenticity that we all need to learn from.
Gosh… I’m wordless… Rest in Peace Albini.
speechless *
indie/underground/noise music would not be half as exciting without him.
What a loss. RIP Steve! ❤️
Steve Albini was so much more than just the recording engineer for Nirvana and PJ Harvey. Big Black and Shellac were very important bands that he was the creative force behind
Rest easy mate.. you were brilliant 🙏🏻😞 in utero is one of my favourite records he worked on. He was absolutely awesome.
He produced Razorblade Suitcase by Bush and I will always love that album ❤😢
That explains why i liked that album more than 16 stone.
That was an amazing album!
Woke up this morning thinking about Steve Albini.
just heard the sad news... Rest in peace Steve, from a hungarian fan
Steve was among the last of a dying breed in some ways. Hopefully future generations are inspired by his methods of analog recording. Digital isn't all that bad and is more cost effective but there's just something about analog tape production that cannot be beat.
Big Black broke up in 80s not the 90s - real ace reporting here.
That being said, Mr. Albini was a legend, and legends never die.
Thank you for your art and RIP.
Wow...that sucks.... the music world needs guys like Steve...gutted
Wow, I just heard the news, thank you Steve for the gifts you talents were able to produce. You are one of my influences for sure! R.I.P.
RIP LEGEND 🙏
inspirational human being a great man, Mr. Steve Albini is a legend.
Love his principles and fair criticism of the music industry greed. He had an album just about to come out....
Died very unexpectedly and suddenly because, I #bethewasboosted
This sounds like the ramblings of someone who’s had part of their brain eaten by a worm that then died.
@@Ultra_Lowcrian no, it sounds like common sense to me

Im in tears. This man dedicated his life to his craft and was such an honest soul. This hurts tremendously
"just a little pinprick..."
Gone too soon🙏
I didn’t know him but the news hit me unexpectedly hard.
Tragic. True loss for music.
Rock and Roll never dies. Rock on Steve. Too bad we live in the age of BAFFLED DOCTORS and SUDDEN DEATH.
he voted for it and was a bit awful to anyone who noticed he was rooting on bad stuff like it was.. good

For Steve Albini, a maestro of sound whose sonic legacy reverberates eternally. The news of his passing hits hard-a reminder of the fragility of life and the pain of losing someone whose talent seemed boundless. At just 61, his departure feels untimely, leaving behind a void that echoes in the hearts of millions who found solace in his music.
Steve's productions weren't just albums; they were lifelines, guiding us through the ebbs and flows of existence. From the blistering energy of the Pixies 'Surfer Rosa' which inspired the sound for Nirvana 'In Utero' to the haunting melodies of PJ Harvey's 'Rid of Me,' his work shaped not only our musical tastes but also our musical identities. His touch transformed raw emotion into sonic masterpieces that spoke to us in moments of joy and despair.
For me, his music was more than just a soundtrack-it was a lifeline during my darkest times. Each album became a companion, a friend that understood the depths of my struggles. When I felt lost, alone, or overwhelmed, Steve's productions provided comfort and catharsis, reminding me that I wasn't alone in my pain.
Steve's legacy extends far beyond the albums he produced; it lives on in the countless artists he inspired and mentored throughout his career and is a reminder of the profound impact one person can have on the lives of many; one that lives on in the melodies that continue to echo through our lives, offering solace and inspiration in times of need. He leaves behind a void that can never be filled, but his music will continue to resonate with listeners for generations to come, a testament to his enduring influence.
Thank you Steve. Love and peace.
RIP Steve Albini (1964-2024)
He was a nice guy.
One of my punk rock heroes.. I know it sounds ridiculous but it’s always tough losing the innovators of that genre. Big Black were legendary.
Rest in Peace Steve 🥀🔥
heart attack. Gee I wonder why that happened ?
probably underlying
Vax?
yeah cause no 60 yo males have ever had a heart attack
@@Tommy-Playsfn I hear you, but there has been an uptick in premature deaths lately. Its just not making the headlines.
@@sg24336what has Russia got to do with this? You sound like a wild conspiracy theorist.
steve albini: enjoyer of art photos.
Steve Albini never had to address his self-admitted attraction to children (proof: his Big Black tour diaries) because he was considered part of the punk rock cultural intelligentsia. The media just never called him out on it.
LEGENDARY.
end of an era. will miss his wit, his writing, his music, and above all, his honesty. thank you steve.
Damn. This is a tough one. The work he did with Slint is masterful. RIP o7
Gone too soon 😢
Don't do experimental jabs. Steve was all in on those lies.
No....
I can't believe he's dead...

Too young, so much more to say. Rest in music, Steve.

Experts are BAFFLED. Safe and effective.
I never would've guessed Steve Albini trusted the government, not a wise choice.
@@kirabarsmith9353He was quite left wing I think? As many artists tend to be, and most of those are jabbed :( I don't get how a health issue is somehow political but its been my impression it became a left/right issue and most artists felt the need to take it
@@GigoloAunt Plenty of right-wingers on board with authoritarianism too, both parties are BS. The posts about masks Steve made don't reflect well on him, he wasn't playing for team humanity at a critical moment.
60 is the new 80
I’m confused. Are y’all speculating that because he had a heart attack now that he must have gotten a vaccine more than three years ago? That logic makes no sense, oh wait, unless y’all had part of your brain eaten by a worm or something.
Awww dang man thats sad. Check out his youtube channel too, he has lots of good recording tips:( Rest in peace.
His TH-cam videos are so useful to anyone interesting in recording. Seemed like someone who truly loved what he did and went his own way about it. RIP.
I used to do to Big Black shows back in the day. Never a bad show and I would always try and say hi to Steve back stage. Also, I would see him from time to time at Jesus Lizard gigs back in the early nineties. He never said much because he was always listening ,but when he did speak, it was always something worth paying attention to.
I liked "Walking into Clarksdale!!!"
Sad indeed. Genuinely talented and honest person RIP
Steve Albini, alt-rock musician and producer, founder of Chicago recording studio, dies at 61. 27.5.24. so bored that he once worked alongside wedding present. yeah, probably one of the good guys....
Ahh man. Albini was such a legend, gave us many great records
Chicago legend. I hope people realize how many records this man brought to life. Even outside of the obvious Nirvanas or PJ Harveys. Bands like ZAO, Slint or Foxy Shazam. His own projects like Shellac have also left a lasting impact. RIP
RIP Steve 😢
61 is pretty young
His writings and interviews are great and essential as well.
Rip Steve Albini ❤
That's sad. I love the live version of Dead Billy on Pigbile. The guitar strum sounds like a harpsichord being dropped on a cement factory floor.
The guy spoke out a lot of bad things about politics, which I thought he had no place in and no opinion who cares just shut up and make music. He seemed very agitated in his later year, so perhaps this explains why his demise is so young.
You smart
Both of his WSOP bracelets in stud are just as much of an accomplishment as his music and engineering imho
Rest in peace legend. Had my shellac tickets and all :(
Ugh.... That hurts.
No talk about Rapeman???!!
@@BooronovichPimponski there’s no surprise considering that even Albini regretted the name

Thanks for making the music world a better place👍
Surreal.. RIP Steve.
At least get your facts right, Big Black broke up in 87. So how could Alison Chesley have supported them in the 90s...
By the way us old punk rock fans are a pedantic bunch of miserable old sods, so we're going to pull you up on such things.
I was wondering the same thing.
I'm sure they got BB and Shellac mixed up.
Damn!
The guy was a genius
He left a tremendous legacy of records, music and ethics.
I still can’t Believe it man 😢
Legend, one of the main reasons why i love music production. RIP master Steve.
Albini turns out to be one of the best poets I've known (hence don't call me a producer) he turns out to be the most smellable spirit of Nirvana 😅
In the respective poetic spirit of Mr. Abini - It's a good time to be dead 🚸🫒

What happened with Steve this past week?? How was he??
One of the greatest.
He loved kids...
He was brilliant. RIP Steve Albini.
In a cellar, close to our hq & about 20 years ago, one of these unknown postHC bands called Iso Rivolta once played Kerosene only at the soundcheck. For us four people. Unforgettable.
Buon viaggio Steve. Adesso la tua chitarre sculaccera gli angeli che non si comporteranno bene. Ciao buon viaggio
That is awful news. Albini was true blue and deeply connected to Chicago. He gave the city some cool credit back in the day. Shame.
