Fellow music lovers, I've decided to do a weekly podcast of sorts. I don't really have the capability at the moment for a streaming live sort of thing, so for now, I'm just going to make a mix each week and upload it to my soundcloud. It'll be mostly trip hop, though it will also be a freestyle session without rehearsals or set list, so I may start with trip hop, but where it ends up, tough to say for sure. Thanks, I would definitely agree, I've gotten a lot better this year. A lot of that came from putting together mixes like this and my Masterpiece sessions. It's honestly not how I prefer to make a mix, all thought out and rehearsed, but it did make me a much better, more well rounded DJ. I find a lot of stuff from DLoaw's channel as well as his HHvibe channel, I listen to a lot of other DJ's as well and have been known to troll around top 100 lists, or any other sort of list that might have an artist I'm not yet too familiar with. I also enjoy trolling around various playlists, spotify, pandora, soundcloud, mixcloud etc.. I think one of the jobs of the "DJ" is to find fresh stuff a lot of people haven't heard and mix it in a fashion that is unique and adds something to the track that couldn't be had in and of itself. So, I just go for stuff that makes me feel something and try to take that feeling and run with it, it's not always a happy place, but when I do it right, there is a distinct vibe to the mix, that's really what I am going for with every mix I make, to express something I feel, but still don't understand. Who knows..? Maybe in time, I won't be so confused and our culture will no longer be misinformed. I can dream, right :)

When I started this one might say I was an addict. For years I really struggled with various addictions and through a lot of hard work and persistence it's pretty much over. This month in fact I am celebrating seven years off the junk and I'm pretty happy about that. I'm rediscovering trip hop lately and ran across this upload. Beautiful mix! I recorded a trip hoppy song years ago called "A Movie Without Sound". It's not great but it was my attempt and a nod to the genre at the time.

I wasn't expecting much, a lot of people post stuff that's not so great, but that is a very complex, multi layered, beautiful horizon of umph. You have a really nice voice, the lyrics are great and the didgeridoo in the background with that organ solo at the end, really a very, very nice track. Thanks for sharing!

Me too. I almost didn't put it on, thinking it was a bit too well... Depressing. Though I really do relate with the track and it hits me in the feels so I said to hell with it and worked it in. Glad I did, as far as I can remember no one has complained about that track, but some have said this mix is a boring ass depressive mix. Oh well, I made it for us, not them. Cheers!

Its like flipping the page on to great future chapters after hearing Moonraker (defunct Chicago triphop), Endtroducing, and Cafe del Mar. Btw I drove around the city using stickshift while listening to your mix. Still a newie driver, traffic was meh and it was drizzling, so your mix helped adjust the right atmosphere.
I've played this mix at least 100 times in the last couple years. It's just beautiful and rubs me the right way. This and the first two Masterpiece Sessions are my go-to. And every single person in front of whom I have chosen to play this, has loved it and asked what it was.

I just wanted to say the transition from Hibiscus to Loneliness (57:45 to 58:45) is nothing short of genius. Definitely my favorite part of this amazing mix, because you can't find that beat anywhere else!
Thanks :) That's what I dig about making mixes. The interplay between songs, those subtle tweaks and manipulations between beats that create those moods within the vibes. Dropping bass lines out and letting new ones carry over, building the momentum and then letting it go. It's really a fun thing to do and then when it's done, we've all got a nice mix to enjoy. Sixfingerz - Loner reminds me of a song I don't know the name of. A british hip-hop song with a similar beat, said rapper (not grime) has a distinctly British (then again maybe Australian?) accent and the song is as deep as its Trip-Hop doppelganger. What are the odds anyone knows what I'm talking about? Anyone else ever had to deal with the frustration of knowing you recall a song but cant remember what it is?

As a well seasoned "Sonic Trip Traveller" & Audiophile I've been all OVER the musical beats on Y.Tube, under different profiles. I know what I am talking about when I "talk" or "Write" or I don't say anything. There are OTHER people who Know what "I" am talking about as well. The Number of them is on the increase. Want proof? You'll get a chance to prove it yourself. Open up the best sound system you can access. Its like flipping the page on to great future chapters after hearing Moonraker (defunct Chicago triphop), Endtroducing, and Cafe del Mar. Btw I drove around the city using stickshift while listening to your mix. Still a newie driver, traffic was meh and it was drizzling, so your mix helped adjust the right atmosphere.

I just wanted to say the transition from Hibiscus to Loneliness (57:45 to 58:45) is nothing short of genius. Definitely my favorite part of this amazing mix, because you can't find that beat anywhere else!
Thanks :) That's what I dig about making mixes. The interplay between songs, those subtle tweaks and manipulations between beats that create those moods within the vibes. Dropping bass lines out and letting new ones carry over, building the momentum and then letting it go. It's really a fun thing to do and then when it's done, we've all got a nice mix to enjoy. Sixfingerz - Loner reminds me of a song I don't know the name of. A british hip-hop song with a similar beat, said rapper (not grime) has a distinctly British (then again maybe Australian?) accent and the song is as deep as its Trip-Hop doppelganger. What are the odds anyone knows what I'm talking about? Anyone else ever had to deal with the frustration of knowing you recall a song but cant remember what it is?

As a well seasoned "Sonic Trip Traveller" & Audiophile I've been all OVER the musical beats on Y.Tube, under different profiles. I know what I am talking about when I "talk" or "Write" or I don't say anything.
There are OTHER people who Know what "I" am talking about as well. The Number of them is on the increase. Want proof? You'll get a chance to prove it yourself. Open up the best sound system you can access. Let the sounds of these compiles right OUT, with certainty, as a powerful warrior who is at peace at war would approach the battlefield. Just how a great lover would approach the bed of the greatest object of desire. If after a couple or three volumes you do not "Feel" what I'm saying, then you would do well to value your TIME a LOT more than at present, as well as an almost infinitely greater care towards how it Spends Itself on you.
