The DA is sticking to principle. they kept their part of the bargain and voted SSSSSSSSyril and the speaker in. The ANC does not understand that concept. That is arrogance. Why? The only party who will be reasonable. The ANC has had one breakaway after another over the years. Cope, EFF, MK and all because of power and corruption. Nobody really wants to do what is right for South Africa. Maybe this rigorous debate up front will save time in the future. The ANC have to partner with people who will be able to take the country forward in an ever-changing world and that is not the EFF or MK. This proposed GNU must work. We are seeing and experiencing "growing pains" as the ANC gets to understand what the outcome is after years of being complacent and just ignoring input from the opposition no matter how reasonable and accurate the input or criticism was. Who warned them about the DA, those proposing a coalition with a bunch of out of touch ideologists.

    Under the ANC, SA is a politically driven economy. It is not a productively driven economy. In SA, politics creates employment, employment is not created by income generating institutions or income generating operating units.
    SA is a majority failed state and a majority failed nation. The model for South African employment procedures, which is BEE, cannot generate sufficient income for progress. It's an economy of daily loss and it is heading toward an economy of total collapse.
    The BEE or cadre economy has failed, like all the cadre economies that run all the African states. Africa is a Banana Continent

    • @mrm7505
      @mrm7505 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @tonyct6640 definitely inability to engage with content leads to being derogatory. If you consider DA liberation activists then perhaps you should consider their policies. The black voters that support the DA ought to have seen the true face of the DA in their manner of dealing with Maimane and Mashaba to name but just two. Sadly, this voter fodder is happy to eat off the proverbial masters table, which is not the case with the majority, thus the shift away from the ANC even. Read the letter by Ramaphosa a day or two ago to the DA which alludes to their manner being insulting, to say the least. Human nature is such that what one doesn't pay a price for something, one doesn't appreciate it and as the apartheid denialists in SA paid no price for 94, they reminisce about the life before 94 despite having had the best of the last 3 decades. Thus, they are incapable of relating to what the oppressed have to deal with 3 decades after 94. Neither do the haves depart nor are they prepared to contribute to leveling the playing fields, rather they continue as if treading this path will not end badly and the majority can be endlessly appeased with R350 pm. It's in the interests of everyone to spread it around and deal with all equitably. Greed and superiority complexes will not bode well for a stable future.

    • @tonyct6640
      @tonyct6640 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@mrm7505 Well if you consider how the ANC squandered the countries coffers over the past 15 years you will understand why so many of the majority have not been lifted out of poverty. Ineffective leaders, cadre deployment and not holding office bearers to account are but a few of the problems. Uncertainty about policy has kept investors away and that too has not helped. If you consider the breakaway factions from the ANC and the reasons for breaking away then you cannot state in all seriousness that these individuals can take the country forward. President Ramaphosa is the last person to talk about being insulted. He expects to be treated with respect when he smugly sat in parliament, earning a big salary and took ages to do anything about his ineffective ministers. We feel insulted that he turned a blind eye to state capture. He is getting the treatment he is not used to. The DA are playing open cards with him and they are making demands because they know how he and his ministers have chosen to ignore reason in the past. It is not an insult, it is the way of coalition politics. If you get 40% your life is not the same as getting 51% and live with it. The playing field has been levelled on many fronts if you consider the rising middle class but yes unfortunately there are many South Africans who do not have the skills to gain meaningful employment. However, the government has not made life easier for them. There are also many who want the benefits of modern society but continue to insist on living in a manner which will not enable them to participate in the economy which supports a modern lifestyle. You cannot have your cake and eat it.

    If ANC gets the presidency and deputy and speaker. They only got 40% day got half that at 20%. Surely DA should get more than six portfolios. ANC is greedy!

    Why can't people just unite for the sake of our country, South Africa 🇿🇦 I understand there will always be differences but surely if you call yourself a politician who wants the best for the people who vote for you, shouldn't it be obvious that it is not about you but the citizens you represent
    Anger towards each other will bring no salutions

    Much as one would think that DA is asking too much, but lets be realistic... when negotiating you start at a high level. And from there take what you get.

    The electorate gave this government a clear mandate. Representation in cabinet should be proportional to the number of NA seats in the GNU. Power must be shared equitably. Anything else would be undermining the people's will

    This newsman says "ANC president Cyril Ramaphosa" as if he is not speaking about the SA president. This is just so disrespectful.
