Mission Peak and its trails are a treasure for the folks that live in the area and enjoy it. A warm evening and getting on top after dark...and all the lights of the cities. Oakland, Newark, Fremont, South San Jose, Los Gatos. A most-beautiful place!
Great video, thank you for doing this. I've hiked this for years but stumbled across this video today and realized how well done and informative this is. Keep it up
Awesome and beautiful hike, man. And you did an excellent job on your video, I really enjoyed watching. I just subbed, found you through my friends at Trails We Hike. I'm over on the east coast so hard to say if I'll ever get a chance to see anything out west, so I really enjoy checking out some of the great TH-camrs from out in your area, showing me what its like out there.
Thanks man, I appreciate it! Likewise, it's hard for me to visit the other coast, but I love seeing what else is out there. Let me know if you happen to visit the Bay Area and I can give you some ideas on some great trails. Gave you a sub as well, keep up the good work!
Thanks for the kind words! The trails are burning hot this time of year, but still doable in the early morning or late evening. Check it out if you're in the area!
Liked your video! Too bad it wasn't on a weekend day with the right wind conditions (West to Northwest) when the hang gliders fly there and often land shortly after the beginning of the trail.
Really well done video! I’m traveling from GA to San Jose this November. If you had one day to do just one hike in the surrounding area, would Mission Peak be it?
Hey R L! That's a great question, and I would recommend Mission Peak only if you're able to go on a weekday to avoid the crowds. If you're able to go a bit further out, then I recommend/prefer Big Basin (giant redwoods, waterfalls), Mt Tam (Dipsea-Matt Davis-Steep Ravine loop, ocean/waterfalls) and Alamere Falls (tidefall on the beach).
If you start before the sun has risen, then there's not that many people and there should be plenty of parking. Foot traffic usually picks up in the later morning hours
Just discovered this .... great video..

this channel has content that is better then channels with millions of subs. this videos is so entertaining and educational
*Weekdays early morning or late afternoon are the best time to hike this place. Little to no waiting to take a photo on the pole "Mission Peeker"*

2:11 my friends been there
where is this? san jose? oakland? Ohlone?
Really nice. I didn't know there was three different trails to the top. Well done video.
It's a shame that most people just ever see the main path. The other two are better IMO and worth checking out!
Love this video! It's clear you put a lot of thought into the content. Thank you!
Glad I came across your video! Doing the hike this week.
Have fun out there! Bring plenty of sunscreen and water if you're going midday!
Great video, I really enjoyed it! Beautiful sunset and other nature shots too!
Thanks Stephanie! I'm glad you enjoyed it!

Nice hike and great video really like the sunset shot's...
Thanks John! I've been here on many different occasions, through rain, snow, mist, and many more, but sunsets are always my favorite!
There are paths a lot lesser known like from Sunol Regional Wilderness and Ed Levin Park aswell.
I found a trail from Sunol Regional Wilderness of which the entrance/gate is closed. It seems we need permission to walk on that trail?
@@proakis6429 doesn’t matter… doubt anyone will bother you
Great video, very well done! I think I know everything that I need to know about the Mission Peak trails!

Have u hiked at sunrise on a weekend? If so, were there a lot of ppl?

i was going to hike today but its, raining >:(
I always dream of reaching the top within 1 hour. If you can't make it in an hour either, thumb up; otherwise, leave your messages.
It's doable if you run or power walk it. Pretty difficult to do, but an incredible workout!
